Many people don't like mince pies because they are just overloaded with mince meat and there's too much pastry. Most of the patty tins in the shops are designed for fairy cakes/muffins/mini yorkshire puddings. This one is much better and leaves a nice "shell" for you to add your filling. Putting the pastry in needed just a little pressure so no cracked pastry and leaky sugary gluey mess when it leaks through. This also makes great mini-quiches, just right for canapes or lunch box filling. They should not, however be described as mini-muffin tins - they're not, and not how the manufacturer describes them on their packaging.Mince pies have changed over the centuries (yes, they really were made with meat)so I don't think there's one "proper" pie tin (they used to be cradle shaped to represent Jesus' birth). So, contrary to other views, I think it makes a very pretty tart and having made several plates full this Christmas they stacked up well both in presentation and taste terms. Absolutely no sticking and easy washing up.

Just what I've been looking for; a British bun tin like mum used to use. None of your Americanised cupcake and muffin tins that produce overfilled and misshapen versions of British classics like mince pies, maids of honour, jam tarts etc. This is a well made tin with a good non stick coating that releases easily and cleans up effortlessly. Takes the 7cm cut pastry perfectly. Surprised to see this listed as a mini muffin pan though. I suppose everything has to be associated with America to sell these days. Buy one, get yourself the Bero flour cookbook and give your kids and yourself an insight into how great and economical British baking at its'best can be.Usual fast delivery and well packaged.

This has a great quality non-stick coating, so it is very easy to remove the pies and also very easy to clean. The pan is very shallow and thus perfect for small tarts and mince pies. Personally I don't like mince pies overfilled with mince meat and I think that this shallow pan is ideal for my mince pies. You can also bake any kind of mini tarts and pies, as well as mini tea cakes with this pan, but I would not recommend this for muffins, as described.

I bought this tin specifically for mince pies as I have other tins for cup cakes etc. What I like about this style is that you can produce full size mince/fruit pies but because of the rounded sides you can also use it to make mini ones - today I made mini mince pies using a 5cm fluted cutter and they've turned out brilliantly. The pies slip out of the cups easily and it's a doddle to clean. All in all very satisfied!

i got these tart tins at christmas2010 they are great they are original type with rounded bottoms like they used to be they are nice and deep to put a good amount of filling in, they do not stick at all even after washing i did think the diameter would of been larger but it does not spoil the enjoyment of having them i recommend these fully

Very happy with this tin. I used it for baking genoise sponges to form the base of jaffa cakes and it worked perfectly - no sticking. I'm looking forward to using it for mince pies at Christmas time too. A really useful addition to my collection of baking equipment. I would certainly buy Swift Faringdon products again.

I use the baking tray to make empadas and so I don't have to fold the rolled dough into de cavities of a muffintray as I used to use before, the holes are shallow so the round pieces just nicely fit in. I couldn't find a mince pie tray in the shop so I had to go to amazon.I am pleased with the tray.

These non stick tins are definitely top quality. However they’re very small. I’ve tried making my famous curried meat patties, and some pastry and jam buns in them, and everything spills out. Nothing wrong with the quality, but I need to see if they do a bigger/deeper version.

Just cooked my first batch of mince pies in this tin, it is perfect, one heaped teaspoon of mincemeat fits perfectly. The pastry went in easy and there were no soggy bottoms. I bought two different types of tin but have just ordered another one of these as it is perfect.

This is ideal for both jam tarts & mince pies, what it's no good for is the deep/large American style muffins, if you want to make them then DON'T buy this, this is strictly for shallow pastry things like jam tarts & mince pies or shallow savoury pastry case items.

Mince pies slide out really easily. As I only bake at Christmas, it remains to be seen how long the non-stick will last, but it seems more non-stick than previous ones - although I admit, it is years since I bought new bakeware - but non-stick did always stick!

I like the rounded shape of the holes. It's nice and sturdy. It recommends hand washing which is a bit of a bind, although it replaces a tin I've had for about forty years which I also never put in the dishwasher so not really a problem.

Difficult to buy a good mince pie baking tray. This was exactly as others have described. Just the right depth and so easy to clean. The mince pies slid out of the tray without any sticking. Really pleased with this purchase.

Shallower than expected, had to make my mince pies smaller than I wanted. Will, still use them, but have needed to purchase another set, have bought from a shop so I can see what they look like. New ones bigger and cheaper.

The item arrived on time and were very well wrapped. The tins themselves are a little smaller and shallower than I had expected which will produce smaller jam tarts than I was making before with my old tins. But, yes, o.k.
