This was one of the first CD markers I was able to buy. Initially, I purchased one each of three different CD or universal markers from a local stationery store in order to see which, if any, worked on which surfaces. I found that this will work on the smooth, shiny surface of some disks, the matte inkjet printable ones and the metallized surface of the remainder. I have yet to find a disk surface on which it will not work. After exhausting the first, I was later able to buy a pack of 10.It is probably the most universal of all the disk markers currently known as most will work on one type of surface alone but not necessarily any other. I wish I had discovered these marker pens from German pen-maker edding a long time ago! I have used various pens for writing on CDs and DVDs over the years but never found one that I was really happy with until now. The edding 8400 pen is approved by top disc manufacturer Verbatim and is solvent-free, smudge-proof, water-resistant and permanent (lightfast). The tip is just right for me and they come in a pack of four which are all black and all the same – most other multi-packs are usually multi-coloured too, which is not what I need.If you have been looking for the perfect black marker pen to use on your CDs and DVDs then the edding 8400 is about as good as you will find.

These pens get my vote for three main reasons:1. The ink is quick-drying and of excellent quality.2. The pen contains much more ink than any of the other brands I've tried.3. Despite the barrel being slightly on the chunky side, the pen has quite a fine nib, allowing for plenty of detail in my writing.Finally, a word about value for money. I have experimented with numerous other CD / DVD markers, and had become mightily sick and tired of watching them run out of ink after a mere ten or fifteen discs. The pens in this pack of four contain far more ink than any of the other brands I've tried, yet work out at no more expensive than some, and significantly cheaper than others.

Very nice nib size - just right for writing on CDs. The ink dries very quickly, which minimises the chance of any smudging and the marker pen lasts for a good time without drying out, even when used infrequently.I use the pen for marking CDs (I have not found any interference with recordings) but also for writing on slip wallets and freezer bags, where the ink dries just as well. I have tried other brands of CD marker pens but this particular one performs the best overall.

These are so good to use. They easily write on any smooth surface and certainly for CD's and DVD's are perfect for labelling. I also use these pens in many other ways as well as the tips are just right for most applications needing to have notes placed on them. Definitely would recommend these pens for many uses.

not a lot to say really just avoid every other disc marker pen and get these. i have tried lots of other pens for my discs but these are by far the best. nice smooth writing, not to thick and not to thin and drys instantly...can not rate them highly enough.

I purchased these on the basis of very favourable reviews on Amazon. Previous pens have been poor. I have only used one on a few occasions so far but pleased with the results. Pity that they have to come from Europe!

Use these all the time to write on old plastic take away pots before I drop them in the fridge/freezer.Wash off once you pop the pots, in soapy water

You cannot use most markers for CDs and DVDs. This is the only markers that are ideal for the job. I highly recommend them.

A bit pricey,but I believe you get what you pay for.I have used this make for a few years and would recommend.
