This 4GB RAM is 2666Mhz SDRAM with latency of CAS 19. It can function as 2400Mhz RAM with latency of CAS 17 in case you already have a 2400Mhz RAM in another slot or your bus don't support 2666Mhz as in case of AMD laptop CPUs which only upto support 2400Mhz.You can install this RAM in your laptop only if you have an extra empty SODIMM slot or if your current RAM is damaged and you want to replace it. Many laptops nowadays come with soldered RAM which can't be removed or upgraded and in such cases, this RAM is not to be bought. Also, one must take care that the RAM slot is DDR4 and not any other type as DDR4 RAM will not fit in DDR3 or DDR2 slots.Dual channel support-There is a misconception that dual channel requires 2 identical RAM of same size, same brand and latency. This is only partly true. One van easily install 4Gb RAM along with another 8GB RAM (or even 16GB RAM) and still get a partial dual channel mode called "FLEX" channel where 4GB from both RAM sticks will be in dual channel while the extra RAM will be in single channel. The performance difference between dual channel and flex channel is minimal at about 2% FPS reduction when playing games. But the cost difference is about Rs 1300. If one doesn't need 16GB RAM, then installing 8+4 = 12GB RAM is enough and one doesn't have to fear loss of dual channel and save some money in the process. I myself have installed this RAM along with another 8GB SAMSUNG RAM. One has to only ensure that that CAS latency and Mhz speed to be identical to ensure maximum performance in flex channel mode. The performance of Crucial RAM and SAMSUNG RAM appears identical in all the benchmark tests I have run. The only negative is that Crucial only offers 3 year warranty whereas companies like ADATA offers 10 year warranty.

Excellent for my Dell Inspiron 15 Gaming (7567) which had an 8GB Samsung DDR4 2400 MHz CL-17 RAM. The installation was pretty easy. Only one screw to be opened in this laptop and didn't even need a screwdriver. I opened it with a knife. Just installed and done. When I booted up, BIOS gave me an alert that memory amount had been changed. I clicked continue and it works like charm. Please YouTube for Dell Inspiron 7567 RAM replacement if you want to see the tutorial. In CPU-z, it shows Dual channel, as I wanted. There has been a drastic improvement in gaming performance. I used to get 40-45 fps in Battlefield 1 and now it's 65-70. Although I play with vsync on, so I get constant 60 fps which is exactly what I wanted. All micro freezing, stuttering, frame drops gone. If you're into gaming dual channel RAM of 16 GB is ideal because in 8GB, most of the ram is consumed by background apps like Chrome, etc. Just costed me ₹2,400. Worth every penny. Go for it without a second thought. Thanks to Amazon too for delivering it within 12 hours.P.S : Don't go for RAMs with higher speed like 2666MHz or with higher CL like CL-14, CL-15 or CL-16 as your BIOS automatically adjusts your RAM to the lower performing RAM. So, even a 3200 MHz RAM with CL-14 will be automatically adjusted to 2400 MHz CL-17. If you wish to upgrade to higher CL, you will have to change both the RAM sticks.

Purchased these to upgrade the standard 8GB of ram in my new 27” 5K IMac as I use ram hungry programs like Lightroom and Photoshop. With just the standard 8GB ram the programs can Lag a lot but I have noticed a massive difference after installing the Crucial 16GB ( 2 x 8GB) bringing me upto 24GB ram. There is a lot of confusion as to what way to configure the ram slots. I have the 4gb in slots 1 & 3 ( which is also where Apple had them pre configured) and the new 8GB in slots 2 & 4 to get optimum performance.EDIT*********I have since purchased a 2019 5k iMac 27” 3.0GHz 6-Core and tried to use the 16gb 2400 MGH and it was down throttling the ram.So I purchased the 32 GB kit (16gb x 2) (DDR4,2666 MT/S, PC4-21300, Dual Rank x8, SODIMM, 260-Pin) Memory and it works fantastic bringing my ram upto 40GB ( 32GB Crucial and 8GB Apple).Absolutely no Lag whatsoever when using multiple tasks, I have Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop running along with YouTube video and Final Cut Pro and it has not slowed in the slightest. These are all ram hungry programs.1 more thing I see a lot of questions about.Apple specify in their memory specifications PC4-21333 and these Crucial are PC4-21300.Do NOT worry, they are both the SAME thing. If I helped you in any way could you mark this review as “Helpful ”. This shows my reviews are worthwhile to others.Thank you.

I bought this 32GB kit to install in a Mac Mini 2018. Considering the outrageous price that Apple charges for RAM upgrades, I ordered the base RAM configuration at 8GB and thought I’d have a go at upgrading it myself. It took me a little while to get around to, but the RAM seems to work well and the user experience is much better with 32GB compared to the stock 8GB. With 8GB installed, it did hang from time to time but now it’s very smooth. I run some windows programs via parallels and have now dedicated 8GB to the virtual machine. With several windows 10 and Mac applications running, I’m left with about 10GB free so I would recommend anyone wanting to run applications through a VM,get 32GB as 16GB may not give as smooth an experience. The RAM replacement was a little bit tricky, just because the screws are so small. Definitely use a magnetic screw driver. Other than that, it’s not particularly difficult, just a bit fiddly. Just watch a couple of youtube videos a few times and there’s not actually too much to it. The best video I found was from OWC youtube channel. The video was the clearest showing the dainty screws and plugs more clearly.

I bought this Crucial (8GB) memory to upgrade my Dell Inspiron 5570 laptop which I have owned for just under 2 years now. It came with 8GB of SK Hynix DDR4 memory, this was enough memory for me when I bought the laptop but as I started using more complex software and playing a couple of games I started to notice slow-downs so I decided to upgrade to a total of 16GB.Upgrading your memory isn't as daunting as you may have thought, going over to Crucial's website allows you to use their memory & storage compatibility checker either by scanning your computer or you can select your computer manually to find 100% compatible memory.Alternatively you can use CPU-Z to find out the current specifications of your RAM and compare that to memory on Amazon. This product was very easy to install, usually you can do this by just taking the back cover off your laptop, locating the RAM sots and inserting you new RAM - easy!Overall, I am very impressed with this product and I have not had any problems with it yet and I doubt I will as Crucial is a very well-respected and reputable brand when it comes to memory and storage products.

As I am an utter mingebag I spent £198 on a FreeDOS HP 255 G6, mainly because it was £198 for a brand new lappy without the gopping horror that is Windows on it.Fast forward to the point in time (now-ish...) that I decided to upgrade the RAM; as prices and specifications are confusing, to say the least, all I knew was that I needed DDR4 SODIMM, 4GB already installed, running at 1833mhz, and I knew I had a spare slot, so I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and get some RAM running at 2400mhz as the motherboard seems to support it.Having ordered and installed these, I subsequently discovered that my laptop was running perfectly fine with these, except still at 1833mhz and as I've alluded to this in my review headline cannot be easily overclocked without a massive deal of faffing around, if at all, with which I can't really be bothered. That being said, my system still works, is running a bit faster (twice the memory now...) with a matched pair of RAMS.In conclusion, a purchase I didn't need to make, but the product is perfectly acceptable and any shortcomings are entirely of my own making.

When I ordered my m15 Dell's upgrade from 16GB to 32GB was an extortionate amount. So, like my previous laptops and computers I thought I'd leave it a while for Memory prices in general to naturally decrease.I had reason to open my m15 to replace the Seagate 1TB Hybrid HDD (or SHDD), which stopped being recognised by my m15 (long story). So, took this opportunity to replace the Memory too.The 32BG kit SODIMM modules fit my m15 without fuss, and they are registering on Windows task manager as 32GB 2667MhZ. All good so far.Shipping packaging:My order was sold direct from Amazon (not a market place seller). The packaging was diabolical. It arrived in a standard amazon cardboard sleeve A5 size, inside the sleeve was the thin plastic Crucial memory container. The cardboard sleeve showed signs of stress, i.e. other heavier items maybe stacked on top. Shameful Amazon! Given that other robust orders come wrapped in excessive bubble wrap! An this impact sensitive item came unprotected! You need to review your packaging allocation process.

Managed to get this on "deal of the day" for my mother's laptop (i5-8250u Kaby Lake R based) for just £32 - a great deal. I recently bought a 16gb SODIMM (2666mhz Single Rank) directly from crucial for £55 for my partner's laptop (actually the same model as my mother's).Although HP guidance (and generally laptops of that era) do not mention 16gb sodimm support, it works fine (given that the CPU itself supports upto 32gb according to Intel. And of course the memory controller is on-die in these CPUs).Although slower at only 2400mhz, the latency is at least CAS17 which is decent. My mother's laptop doesn't really see much gaming usage and heavy usage anyway (just general browsing and email).Adding this 16gb stick onto her existing 4gb stick (total 20gb RAM) allows for dual channel usage for the first 4gb of this stick (total 8gb operating at dual channel) - more than enough for current standards. All in all, a decent deal for some decent RAM. Very happy.

I've had the ASUS VivoBook Pro (N580GD) for a couple of years now, but I had no idea the RAM was expandable up to 32GB. As soon as I found out, I hit up Amazon and found this Crucial RAM. Officially, ASUS says the N580GD only supports up to 16GB, but I'd read plenty of reports of people who'd upgraded theirs to 32GB without issue, so I decided it was worth the gamble.Opening up the VivoBook Pro was a delicate operation (you'll definitely want to hit up YouTube to watch how other people do it to minimise the risk of damaging your laptop's exterior), but once open the old RAM popped out fine and I was able to slip this straight in.It took a minute or so longer to boot up that first time after installing it while the BIOS readjusted itself, but after that it booted up as quickly as it did before, if not a little quicker. Operation is MUCH faster now for editing in DaVinci Resolve or doing 3D stuff in Blender. Well worth it.

If like me you wanted to a ‘cheaper’ Mac computing experience, you got the Mac Mini 2018. Purchasing on Black Friday and with a work discount I bagged myself a bargain. What I didn’t bag, was more RAM. 8GB in 2019 is definitely not enough. But following a YouTube video online and with a T6 and T9 screwdriver this Mac flies. Installation into the RAM slots is a little fiddly, and if you’ve never messed with a computer before, I would probably give it a miss. (Be wary of the LED connector light on your MM and the WiFi antenna reconnection once you’ve slid in your new RAM.Having said that. Installation went perfectly and this machine feels all the better for it. If you plan on driving 4/5K monitors from your 2018 MM,32 GB is a must.I’ve been steadily watching the price come down and I’d say £160 for 32GB is a steal - at the time of writing you won’t any cheaper from a quality brand.

I have since purchased a 2019 5k iMac 27” 3.0GHz 6-Core and tried to use my old 16gb 2400 MGH which I was using in my 2017 5k iMac and it was down throttling the ram.So I purchased the 32 GB kit (16gb x 2) (DDR4, 2666 MT/S, PC4-21300, Dual Rank x8, SODIMM, 260-Pin) Memory and it works fantastic bringing my ram upto 40GB ( 32GB Crucial and 8GB Apple).Absolutely no Lag whatsoever when using multiple tasks, I have Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop running along with YouTube video and Final Cut Pro and it has not slowed in the slightest. Really easy to install memory, just check via the "About this Mac" page for instructions and confirmation of what memory type your computer takes. They come in a stiff blister pack, so they are well protected in transitI was pleased to note that I did not need any special tools to install in my 27" iMac 2017I did read a note on another post that is matters as to what slots you put different pairs of memory, so if you are having difficulty in re-starting your computer, just check which slots they are in, I think I put these into slots 2 and 4, with the original 2 x 4Gb chips in slots 1 and 3 - but check with the manufacturer if you have issues because this memory definitely works. There are other reviews which say which slots they have put them in, depending on the model year of the computer.

Upgraded my girlfriends old Lenovo Laptop from 4Gb to 20Gb with this and a Crucial SSD (also reviewed) - took it from a slow beast to a decent 2020 standard. Installation was incredibly easy and straightforward. The hardest part was opening the laptop case, but even this was straightforward with a simple YouTube guide. Installing the memory takes a second, recognition by the laptop was instant, as was the performance upgrade. Highly reliable and Crucial's website has great tools to find what you need, and links directly to the relevant Amazon page (which is usually cheaper than quoted on the Crucial website too). There are slightly cheaper equivalent alternatives out there, but I'd rather go with something with a 100% compatibility guarantee than waste my time quibbling over a couple of quid.

It arrived in simple transparent plastic packaging. Followed instructions on how to install the RAM into my iMac from the Apple website. Make sure you follow the section for the correct model. After restarting my Mac, screen remained dark few seconds longer than usual and the loading screen was also slower. This is normal as the RAM is being initialised. When the machine eventually started, I tested out various apps e.g. photoshop, GarageBand etc and they all ran noticeably smoother. The other test I carried out was to run Windows X on Parallels. On 8Gb RAM it was sluggish. With 24GB RAM it runs as smoothly as if I had run it via Bootcamp. Games which previously were unplayable ran smoothly. For the price, it is amazing value for what it can do for your Mac.

Having purchased an HP 14s-dq1505sa laptop with 8GB ram, I checked the compatibility and found that it was upgradable to 32GB ram so decided to purchase two of these 16GB Crucial memory modules to replace the 2 x 4GB modules already installed. I found them well-packaged in antistatic packaging and of course very easy to install. There's not a lot you can say about memory modules except that they work perfectly and have done from the first time switching on the laptop. The photographs in the listing are an accurate representation of what you will receive. Just make sure to check and double check that you purchase the right ones and I'm sure you'll find that a DIY upgrade is much cheaper in mostcases than paying for a higher specification from a company.
