I upgraded from 8GB of RAM which was perfectly adequate to 16GB and felt I should brag about it. However I now feel that anything less than 16GB in 2019 is having to compromise. I have two spare slots so I should buy another pair of these really. What is RAM actually used for in a PC? If you check the RAM actually in use it's likely that it will show you have a lot available. However there is a difference between Available and Free. To use an analogy you might be doing house hold chores but if your friends turn up as say come with us we're going to feed bread to the ducks you'd be Available. The job you were doing can wait. With the RAM in your PC it could be helping speed up the file system but if the RAM is needed elsewhere the file system can look after itself.Free RAM is that which has absolutely nothing to do and would be used first if there was something to do. You want your computer to have free RAM to ensure that the file system and other things that benefit can have some RAM to themselves. When a process requires RAM it can take it from the Free RAM.You only get this situation if you have far more RAM than you absolutely need. If you want your computer to be fast you want your RAM to be helping the file system run fast. If a new process has to ask some RAM to save it's contents to your hard drive then you're going to notice that because you'll be waiting for it. Any time your computer is making you wait then it's not good enough.

Rebuilt the in-laws computer with this. Upgrading from a build made years ago using the A4-3300, 8GB DDR3 1600mhz ram and a 2.5 inch HDD I had laying around. Suffice it to say their old system was SLOW. They use it for really basic stuff, basically email and internet, but I wanted to make something snappy enough for them to last many years and that would age well.I chose to build using:-Intel i5 7500-MSI B250M PRO-VDH-Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (8GB x2) 3200mhz DDR4 RAM-Samsung 960 EVO 250GB SSDI reused their 430 watt Antec PSU, Rosewill mATX case, an LG sata DVD drive and a card reader. The install was quick and easy. Everything worked without a hitch from first boot to upgrading BIOS to installing Win 10 Pro and copying their data over and running updates.I doubt they will even come close to pegging this CPU but wanted to give them room to grow and figured the breathing room this would give over a dual core (even with hyper-threading) would be worth it long term. This ram will only run at 2400mhz on the motherboard I used which is a bit of a disappointment but is also at the stated specification of the motherboard, so not the RAM's fault. I thought the XMP profile would allow me to do 3200Mhz, and even though the BIOS sees it can do 3200Mhz, it will not set it any higher then 2400Mhz. Probably could have saved a couple bux getting slower RAM but live and learn.Overall it does what it needs to

Low profile 3200mhz DDR4 in a sexy looking shiny black heatsink.....Whats not to like???. Ok other than the price, but the form factor is nice and tidy and I haven't had any issues with them running at full speed in my Skylake build which is over 6 months old now and has been absolutely hammered gaming for all that time at ultra settings. Based on my previous experiences with this brand I don't expect any problems either. In short I highly recommend this RAM, I doubt you'll notice any real performance gains by the RAM itself as I would expect most sticks to be installed on new builds for the Skylake platforms (core i5 6600 or i7 6700 processors, Z / H170 chipsets etc.).These are therefore likely to be used in the first gen DDR4 builds so upgrading isn't likely to be what these are being bought for yet. However they will compliment a shiny new build perfectly and the build as a whole should have better performance over previous generation platforms, Be aware that some motherboards can't support the clock speed and the XMP has to be enabled in the EUFI bios for them to work at there best. They will default down to a lower speed if not enabled or supported in this way but will still work ok albeit a little slower (2333 mhz usually).

Right, so I ordered two of these and there was an issue with them. First things first, they come from different manufacturers.I'm not an expert (geek) but I managed to have a look in specs with CPU-Z. It works fine with XMP, improves the system a lot, for cheap. The look nice, I have the black model. Both in system (2x8GB) improved my PUBG experience and made the game smooth. overall my system runs smooth now..now the problem:they have at least two manufacturers which are Samsung and Micron.first one I got was from Micron and second one from Samsung.Micron, is fire. works really good.Samsung burned out after one week or so.You can see the manufacturer in software (CPU-Z).My system was freezingalone and after a while I couldn't even turn on system without taking that RAM module off (Samsung one). But, Amazon gives an excellent assistance so I managed to ask a return. they sent me a new one straight away and now I just need to send the defective one back by post and I think it's all for free.. in this case I just need to pay for a bag/box and sent it.Anyways, the product is really really good. If your PC freezes after you installed them in the space of two or three weeks start by checking RAM modules and manufactuer.

I used this ram in a workstation that I built with the Ryzen 1800x over a year ago. At that time I could only get it to run at 2866, even after numerous bios updates on my MSI motherboard. There were a few times I got it to run at 3200 but not stable. Fast forward to last month when my computer starts crashing and memtest shows one of my sticks as faulty. Corsair provided the best RMA experience I have ever had. Via advanced replacement, they sent me a new set of ram before I sent the faulty set to them. I had to pay for the replacement ram but I was quickly reimbursed and not even questioned about my faulty ram. It was a breath of fresh air to not have to prove to an RMA department that their product does not work only to have it sent right back to you on your dime.On top of that, they sent me Samsung B-die sticks to replace my Hynix ones. Lo and behold I can now clock my ram at 3200.So while one of the sticks of ram went bad, Corsair's customer support was amazing, and I am now a corsair customer for life. This is why this product deserves 5 stars.

the start of 2018 was something special for me. i had acquired enough money to finally get into building my own rig. and going from a i3 540 @ 3.02GHz | 4GB of ram and a GT640. this was the biggest upgrade to date and with the arrival of 8th gen intel processors the i5 seemed like a good entry point.my build was originally meant to beintel i5 8600k8GB RAMNvidia GT780 (gifted by caring community member)Corsair 750m PSUand just 3 months in with the 8GB of ram 1 stick had failed on me. noticing that i was caping out on ram super quick upon start up as well as in games performance had crippled. i might have just got a bad batch or something but no harm overall to the PC.i upgraded 2x8 sticks as ram prices started dropping and inventory was quickly running out. and have had the new sticks for nearing 9 months now. and its all great and dandy.no complaints other than the value for money which at the time for me was quite expensive compared to what its at now. but hey you win some you lose some. either way im happy with how things have turned out!

Corsair is, perhaps, the most famous brand of RAM stick, and rightly deserved. These bad boys came up as the perfect trade-off between performance and price at the time of my research, and no doubt they'll hold up for years to come.I was so pleased with the find that I bought two! Really, two packs of two, for four total RAM sticks, which my motherboard indeed accommodates as I type this. Honestly, 32GB is very excessive for my needs, but I figured that I was aiming to make this PC build long-lasting, and therefore I should buy the RAM sticks now which I would need perhaps ten years from now (since it is advisable, for compatibility, that all RAM sticks in one system have the same make and model, and I made it the exact same product in the exact same purchase transaction - though the serial numbers are off by a couple thousand (which goes to show the incredible popularity of these RAM sticks, I suppose)).If this product fails earlier than seems -by my personal approximation- reasonable, then I will update this review.

I've had this RAM for about 18 months and it's worked pretty well. Every now and then upon boot, (this has happened less and less frequently as time went on) I would get a message saying "Overclocking failed" and I would have to go into the BIOS, re-enable the XMP file and go on my way. Not a huge issue but I was never really sure why it would occasionally fail on boot. It's never been a huge issue, just a minor inconvenience. Another minor inconvenience is that the aluminum casing on one side of the RAM stick came off. I opened up my case one day and saw it laying on my GPU and just decided to keep it off so it didn't fall again and potentially block a fan or knock something loose. The RAM has performed as necessary, minus the boot issues. If anyone has had the same experience, or knows anything about the failure upon boot, feel free to comment. My system:ASUS Z-170AGigabyte 1080 G1WD 1TB HDDSamsung 250GB SSD 850 EVOIntel i7-6700k16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200

Have had these for a few months now and they haven't failed me once. I've bought ram from them before and will continue to purchase from them.Firstly the ram sticks themselves look slick. Nice looking heat spreader and will help if your looking for a clean build. Multiple colour selections also. My case is windowed and it looks great in it compared to seeing green in your case.By default they run at 2133mhz but this is easily changeable by going into the bios and enabling xmp. This will allow them to run at their rated speed. Currently in my z370 mobo which houses an i7 8700 and it works great together. Personally ram speed isn't that big of a factor in my opinion but that depends on if your using ryzen etc, they prefer higher speed ram.The ram sticks are low profile as described and I can easily fit my hyper 212x heatsink with ease. Thanks for all the reviews on the product from other people, hope this review helps people also.

Bought Corsiar standard memory 2600mhz 2 sticks 8gb each so it balanced across the DIMM sockets installed on a MSI x470 motherboard running a ryzen5 processor, MSI GTX 1070 gpu. Installed with no issues put together in under 20 minutes and booted up and windows 10 installed within the hour. Bullet proof ram you can go for faster speeds up to 3600mhz for this motherboard but ££ against speed your not going to notice any benefit unless your a speed geek more interested in measuring speed over playing games or even video editing better adding more sticks …. my opinion of Course. Ensure you check out what RAM your processor can manage before buying bigger ram only to find out that your processor cant use it (wasted money and hours trying to tweak it to get the stated speed out of it),and ensure the motherboard can manage speed too otherwise you will freezing issues.

Really happy with this kit, also came with a ram cooler which I fitted (might as well).Installed on a Gigabyte Aorus X570 Pro with a 3700x.Initially just enabled the XMP profile and straight to 3200mhx it went with no issues, job done in many ways but then looking at performance it seems 3600mhz is a sweet spot for performance with as you can then run the fabric clock at 1:1 1800mhz which increases the cpu performance. So with slightly relaxed timings (16-19-19-40) and a voltage bump to 1.38v everything is stable in memtest 86 at 3600mhz.On research I have version V5.32 with Hynix dies.I do think the motherboard played a big part in this being possible as well as the memory support on the 3rd Gen Ryzens.Of course this isn't guaranteed for others with different hardware (or even the same hardware)

I bought a set of the 16GB(2x8) 3200MHz C16 memory last year for the gaming rig I built. It ran great - doesn't overclock very well, but at advertised speed and timings it runs without any problems. Excellent value for high speed DDR4.The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is that I purchased a second kit to bump my PC up to 32GB, but the kit I received was DOA. PC would not boot with the new RAM installed. I removed them, it booted fine. Replaced my original set with the new set, praying it wasn't a dead DIMM slot in my motherboard, but again it wouldn't even boot up into the BIOS and gave C1 error code for failure to detect memory. Filed for a replacement and the new kit arrived 2 days later & works flawlessly.Return is currently travelling via snail mail back to Amazon.

First stick didn't work, which can happen with this sort of thing, but diagnosing it was a bugger and nearly cost me the PC I'd bought to put it in.If you put the ram in and the computer starts acting funny, boots into windows and is sluggish then resets or fails to boot, then remove the ram, even if it sees the ram in the system with the full 8 gigs. Leaving it in and trying to find out if it was another component corrupted the system files which meant it then behaved oddly even with new ram in. Had to reinstall windows with other ram before it was diagnosed. That said. These things happen with ram. No fault of the seller who replaced immediately and second stick works fine. Buy with confidence.Just wanted to give a heads up for any noob like me.

I had bought two of these sticks of ram on separate occasions, starting my pc build with 8gb and then upgrading to two sticks to make 16gb. I made sure to buy exactly the same ram to ensure compatibility. Unfortunately the second stick caused my pc to get blue screen errors and crash constantly. It was version 5.3 I think. Anyway, I contacted Corsair support and they replied quickly, confirming that the RAM was faulty and said to exchange via Amazon which I did. The replacement worked perfectly (and also had a different version number) so although the ram works well and is good value and the customer support from Corsair and Amazon was really good,I was disappointed with the fact that I was unlucky and got bad ram and had the hassle of exchanging it.
