Having read several NUC reviews, memory white papers and reviewed the Intel NUC support site for memory compatibility I realised 16GB NUC memory purchase was the complicated part and i decided on the Crucial (Micron) 16GB 1600MT/s CL11 [CT2KIT102464BF160B] and I can confirm that this works for me...Why?My NUC is UK model (you get a G plug) of Intel Core i5 4250U NUC Barebone with MB D54250WY and BIOSVersion :: INTEL - 19, released 2014.03.03.If you need / want 16GB of memory for your NUC then you might want to be aware of a few things first:1. It turns out that memory compatibility with NUC has many considerations especially on 16GB requirements2. I urge you to look at the intel nuc support site for latest information on bios updates /compatible ram etc3. you need low voltage ram you must get DDR3L1.35v (note the L on the end and check you really are getting 1.35v compatible chips); the crucial chips appear to support 1.35 and 1.5v (i can't confirm 1,5 as my nuc operates 1.35v)4. when you use 16GB (2*8GB) you are running the nuc at maximum performance as both memory slots are populated full bandwidth is utilised and this calls for memory and timings that work in harmony with the chipset of the nuc5. it is possible to go higher than 1600MT/s; and there are review sites claiming success with G.Skill memory however this is not yet endorsed by Intel and I can only say that I stuck at 1600MT/s as the gains reported seem marginal 3-4% in most cases and for me I don't need this on a system I purchased more for the balance of power requirement Vs performance.i won't go into detail here there are plenty of review sites for NUC and other sites that describe how memory functions however for my usage it is important to get memory that works and will prolong the life of all devices as I intend to have a system up for media duties amongst other things (won't be off vary often) so for me I don't want to push the MTBF down (point 5. re:overclocking memory).I hope people looking at NUC find this useful; at this time i didn't see too many people reviewing memory compatible with a haswell nuc.

Delivery: I got the product in the exact mentioned date of delivery. It was packed in a big pouch with small air bubbles and it is more easily susceptible to damage during transit if the handlers do not know how to handle this sensitive computer component.Coming to the product: I could see few scratches on the chips in the RAM but it looked new and matched with the product mentioned in the Amazon page. The installation was easy.I switched on the laptop and it was on and I could hear the fan running. But there was nothing on screen. I tried to fit it again properly, also switched the RAM slots, and tried it as solo unit. I had the same problem.I tried it with my office laptop too.Same methods and same results. Simply put, the RAM module was faulty and I got it confirmed with Crucial Support.Ordered a replacement and hoping it would work. I will update the reviews accordingly.Note: My laptop is a Toshiba S50-A and office laptop is a Dell Latitude E5450. I ran Crucial India Memory Suggestion tool and came to this product. So the RAM is compatible with both laptops as per Crucial.12/11/2018 Update: Received a Replacement RAMGot the RAM in same packaging and gave poor delivery feedback for packaging in both the main and replacement orders.Installed the RAM in my Toshiba and it works now. I get all of the 12 GB which reaffirms that the previous one was indeed a faulty RAM module. I could see considerable improvements in my laptop's speed though the older HDD is slowing it down. Probably I should replace it with an SSD. That's for another day.I gave only 3 stars for the replacement as I am yet to do the memtest86. I am planning to do the test to find if there is any defect in the module and will update the review accordingly. I am hoping it does well in the test.15/11/2018 Update: Finished with the Memtest86Ran the memtest86 for more than 2 hours and got 2 Pass results. I did not want to stress the module any further and stopped the test. I am changing the rating to 5 stars. I will keep update as the usage goes on.

I've been building custom PC rigs or upgrading stock PC's/laptops for myself, family, & friends for 25+ years as a DIY enthusiast. I usually purchase from Crucial directly but in this instance this RAM kit was a fair chunk cheaper on Amazon. When it comes to (SODIMM) RAM for laptops or mini PC's you really can't go far wrong with Crucial. I always shortlist their kits for comparison on performance, specs & cost with other top manufacturers. Frequently, you really have to do your homework to ensure you're choosing compatible RAM for your hardware or suffer the consequences & expense. Because Crucial have directly retailed their RAM for many years, their website has also had a built in "Advisor Tool" (compatibility checker)for years too. Literally ANYONE can easily find exactly what they need without needing to be an IT professional, DIY enthusiast, or spend endless hours researching their hardware to ensure they're choosing the right kit. (Crucial carry out extensive compatibility checks to save you the trouble). Additionally, I've only needed to return one RAM kit to Crucial out of multiple purchases over the years & I had the replacement within a couple of days. Their customer services are certainly well above par. Otherwise, I've never had a failure from their kit & some of it is still in use having been passed down, etc.I purchased this particular kit to upgrade a new Minix N42C-4 Mini PC/HTPC. It's absolutely ideal for the purpose & it gives me 4x the stock RAM (a considerable boost). My mini PC is coping with everything I'm asking of such a small system & more. As always, this Crucial kit is performing precisely as advertised. I'm very happy with it. Competitive prices & lifetime warranties backed up by their superb customer services make Crucial hard to beat. The NAS is well constructed and has a very small footprint, so could easily fit in any office space. Is also very quiet and aesthetically pleasing to look at and would not be out of place along side normal hifi/home entertainment equipment, however the blue stripe might not be to everyone's taste and the LEDs may be distracting. All-in-all the hardware for this is well thought out, good options for extension, my only minor complaint hardware-wise is that the plastic cover at the front of the disk trays feels like it could be broken/cracked easily if it were mishandled.The software however may leave you wishing it attempted less. I guess it is designed for novice/non technical users,as it has a quite a fussy multi-modal Windows-eqsue interface which attempts to hand-hold you at every turn, and has applied defaults which it doesn't look like you can disable (e.g. port 80 is tied up but only to be forwarded to by the clunky admin UI). Advanced users will likely find this type of setup frustrating or limiting.Out of the box, it is also quite outspoken, as it likes to verbally announce when some system tasks have completed, e.g. firmware update, RAID changes etc. This type of alert can be switched off, but was a bit of a surprise when it first happened as I wasn't expecting my NAS to start yelping in the middle of the night!However, when I found myself googling if it were possible to get FreeNAS/other Linux OS on this box, I realised this wasn't going to be for me and ended up returning it. Which is a shame as I quite liked the hardware/form factor and have yet to source an equivalent. If you can live with the OS/UI, then it's quite a strong contender for a compact, feature-filled NAS.

After looking at specs on the Apple website I decided to buy this for my iMac (late 2015 27"). There are other memory listed as explicitly "For Mac".I also later checked on the crucial site and its system scanner says this memory is not compatible. Well so far that's simply not true! Naughty Crucial! I'm pretty sure that amounts to incorrect advertising.Anyway I scoured the internet to see if there was a difference between this and the mac equivalent. I couldn't find a definitive answer other than a post of someone else saying they couldn't see any discernible difference.So I popped it in, booted straight away. It doesn't instantly make everything faster, but what it does do is prevent me having close programs.When doing music production I was regularly having to reboot or use a utility to free up memory all the time otherwise I'd get sound glitches while it tried to load stuff. Since putting this in loading tracks, samples are super smooth and doing so no longer interrupts the live sound being playedPackaging was minimal which I like (came padded in bubble wrap packets and sealed antistatic bags. Had all the correct labels on.I don't know if there'll be any long term impact to using this memory over official "For mac" memory since I can't tell you what the difference is (speed, frequency, CL number, voltage etc are all the same) but if anything negative starts happening I'll update the review.In summary, this saved having to replace what is otherwise still a very capable and competent computer and me a lot of money. Worthy upgrade

NOTE: I already upgraded my CPU from the stock i3 to an i5 processor*, so my computer is now about as upgraded as it can be. Upgrading a CPU is possible with this model laptop as the CPU isn't soldered to the Mother Board. The reason I upped the ram is I was running out of ram regularly with heavy video editing projects (originally had 8GB of ram).I use Ubuntu Linux (16.04 64bit) and do not know how this ram would function on this computer if it were running Windows as I do not use Windows (and very happy that I don't)... although, I would guess that this ram would work fine.This is a very easy upgrade for most laptops...just check your specific model on the Crucial website to be sure you are ordering the correct ram modules for your specific model computer to avoid the hassle of getting incompatible ram modules ;)So far I have had no problems with these ram units, and everything worked perfectly when I booted up after installing them! I am using them in a Toshiba Satellite c855-s5355 Laptop running Ubuntu 16.04 and my System Monitor shows 15.6 GB of usable RAM out of the 16 GB installed (8GBx2)... I am a happy camper!*fyi... I installed the Intel Core i5-2410M CPU @ 2.30GHz (2 cores/4 threads) which worked perfectly in my computer. However, I do not know if Windows 8 or 10 would have hiccuped with this upgrade... again, I use Linux, so it just worked in my case :)

Purchased in order to upgrade the RAM on my 3 year old Sony Vaio laptop, which was used for my Computer Science course at university. Initially I was skeptical on purchasing the 16GB kit, on further research this was the maximum memory that could be purchased for my laptop, so do check that beforehand. Use the Crucial System Scanner Tool (website) to check this out.After reading numerous reputable sources, I was left with the impression that memory should be purchased in pairs (as was the case here) what this means is, the memory that is currently installed on your laptop may be wasted, in my case 4GB of RAM. You can mix and match RAM brands, but its not advisable,there are the chancers in life that will disagree here.Most of you will be wondering, how it performs in terms of everyday applications. In other words is it worth upgrading from 4GB DDR3 to 16GB DDR3, in its simplest form I would say yes,certainly. YouTube loads much faster in terms of viewing HD 1080P content, I can have my banking tabs open, Skype and Microsoft Word all without any delays/lags. Previously with 4GB of RAM, there would be delays and my laptop would often struggle.For little over £100 its much cheaper than purchasing a new laptop, a good buy in my eyes.If you found my review helpful, please click the "Yes" button to state this so I know its been a help to someone. I've gone through a bit of an ordeal trying out several different kinds of memory modules in an aging ThinkPad T400 before I purchased these. The ones I had tried include Kingston, CSX, and other Crucial modules, all to no avail: none of them would work, resulting only in a beeping sound when turning the device on, and nothing on the screen.Crucial's customer support was kind enough to point me to these modules that are guaranteed to be compatible with my ThinkPad – they're, in fact, the same modules as the ones contained in the CT5311317 kit as suggested by Crucial's compatibility advisor tool on their site, the latter simply being their website-specific code for the same product. As it turns out,while other Crucial modules match these 100% when you look at the specs, they're not actually a perfect match: my laptop needed low-density memory in order to work, and that detail is not included in any specification! Make sure to double-check with Crucial's tech support if in doubt, they have a handy chat tool for that purpose.Instead of ordering directly from them, I went with Amazon, and got the product both cheaper and faster. And it works! Booting into Windows this time was effortless, and it feels like I've gotten a new machine. The modules come properly packaged in their respective plastic cases each, and are well-protected.

I purchased two of these RAM sticks from Amazon Warehouse for my HP Elitebook 840 G1. According to Crucial's own website this RAM is compatible for the intended laptop and I can confirm they do work perfectly and at full speed. The memory units were also in good condition and there were no faults when running Memory Test from the BIOS screen.The only thing that might scare you a little is that the silver holding clips did not sit perfectly on the grooves like the stock RAM provided by HP itself but the RAM is still secure, doesn't move about and connects fully. My system recognised the RAM with no problems at all, I plugged it in and turned on the laptop and that was it.Just a note to those who are new at this,RAM doesn't have drivers so all you have to do is plug it in and that should be it if nothing went wrong. There is no software to install.I'll try to add a picture of the clip later and if someone else made it sit better, please let me know :)Edit: As you can see in the picture (sorry for bad quality, it's the best focus I could get on) the silver clips don't sit in the grooves perfectly and the ridge by the connectors has a gap too. I applied moderate force and did not try to force it into the grooves as I was afraid of damaging it.

my 3-year laptop was running too slow so decided to upgrade my ram from 4 GB to 8 GB. after reading many products reviews finally go for this Crucial CT51264BF160B 4GB 1600MHz DDR3L 204-Pin Laptop Memory.I already had a Samsung 4 Gb on my laptop.first impressionwell, the ram was shipped with no protection or any bubble wrapping, I also ordered an HDD enclosure which was shipped bt the same dealer. so both the items come in the same package without any hard case packaging, when I open the package the ram was placed just like the picture just like a matchbox ;). I don't know how it will appear if you order it alone.opened up my laptop and placed it in the second RAM slot.the laptop didn't boot for the first time.again removed it and placed it in the ram slot 1 alone and checked if the system boot up. it worked perfectly. and after like 3 or 4 inserting and removing and after few tries it both works just fine...just got it for like around Rs 2000.and one thing I noted was that in the figure shown in amazon the ram has 4 black rectangular pieces on the Green PCB, but the actual product has 8 black squares pieces on the PCB, that made me worry on the first time, like i got a wrong product.good product, Running fine

I recently bought the new TS-251B NAS drive which came with 4GB as the highest RAM configuration but is upgradeable to 8GB officially (16GB unofficially as claimed by many other QNAP users). Since I got a 4GB version of the NAS I wanted to upgrade to 8GB so as to run virtualisation of Windows 10 on the NAS without performance problems. I found the Crucial 4GB DDR3L (Low voltage i.e. 1.35v) 1866MHz, to be compatible and also great value for money. The module recommended by QNAP costs around 80 quid plus shipping whereas this cost me 32 quid on prime next day delivery. I had done some research on other sites and Crucial was highly recommended. The installation completed in a few minutes and the NAS was upgraded to 7.7GB of real usable space.I've been using this module for over two days now and so far have seen no problems. The NAS resource monitor has not reported any issues with memory or performance therein. Everything now is a lot quicker including the web frontend. I would highly recommend this module for QNAP NAS upgrade but do check the RAM type compatibility with your NAS model.

It took me hours to find the right module for my Mac Mini (late 2012). Most of the modules available on Amazon are sold in pairs (2x4GB, 2x4GB). What I was looking is just one 8GB module to get me through a few tasks I need to get done now and later ( probably after Christmas), add another module.I installed it on top of existing module so now I have 10GB of memory (1x2GB and 1x8GB) Apple recommends not to mix different modules but I can tell you my mac mini runs perfectly with them. I even ran every memory test I found and all came out OK.With OS X Yosemite: I can tell you the memory came just like a blessing. Everything runs better and faster, It starts quicker, the apps launch faster,switching through different spaces is much more smooth and faster. Even encoding videos are 2x faster than before.If your'e on a budget, get this module for your Mac Mini. You won't be disappointed.

Purchased this memory upgrade for my mid-2012 MacBook Pro (13”). It was showing its ages, taking an age to start-up, and being particularly slow when opening applications.I was on the verge of buying a new MacBook, but the very high prices, inability to replace components (I believe they are all soldered in place) and lacklustre reviews put me off. So I researched how to improve the speed, and found it was very easy to increase the RAM. I had 4gb originally, and decided to go for 16gb (Apple recommend a max of 8gb, but again research told me that it could easily handle 16gb). It has completely revamped my MacBook, it starts up in about 25 seconds now (compared to about 4 minutes previously),and opening applications takes roughly 3 seconds.I think this has probably added about 2 years to the life of my machine, and saved me thousands on an upgrade for the time being.

Installed into a Synology DS216+II to upgrade the RAM from 1GB to 8GB, no real need to i just wanted to do it and it gave the server a little extra RAM if it needs it.The RAM arrives well packaged and a plastic shroud to cover the RAM and put the old piece into. It installed perfectly fine, though you'll probably want to follow a guide if you're taking apart the Synology DS216+II, it's not hard you just have to be careful not to damage anything, i believe doing so will void your warranty.The RAM has been working perfectly fine in the server, on 24/7 for around 2 months now and i'm happy to give it a great overall review.I would be happier if the price of the RAM was cheaper given i've been looking at this module now for around a year and the price has never really moved so i would purchase it on a sale like i did.

Product was exactly what I was expecting and it arrived promptly. It was fairly easy to put into my laptop, although I had to push it in further that I thought before pushing it down to clip in. If you're unsure on how to do this there's loads of videos on YouTube of it. The RAM worked perfectly with my Sony Vaio VPCEH1L8E running on Ubuntu OS.For those looking to speed up their laptop, RAM won't make things speed up, it'll just stop them from slowing down. I have noticed having the same number of programmes and Chrome tabs open as before and my laptop no longer slows down. If you're looking to have your laptop run faster then this might not be the addition you need.Look into an SSD replacement for your hard drive or CPU over clock, although this is never advised for laptops due to overheating issues.
