The Crucial memory arrived quickly and is a perfect fit in my desktop computer. AH. DIREKT are an Amazon Market Place dealer and based on my purchase, I would definitely recommend. If you are not buying your Crucial memory directly from Crucial, then to be absolutely sure that you are getting the right module for your system, I would suggest that you go onto Crucial’s web site. There, you can have them check your computer system online, to advise you which of their memory modules, if any, are going to work with your computer. You just have to download a small program from the Crucial web site and run it. It will give you all the necessary advice as to exactly what you can fit into your computer. It will advise if you have any spare memory slots, or if not, might suggest that you could remove and discard existing memory to upgrade to a higher memory capacity. All you have to do then, is either buy the suggested memory directly from Crucial, or buy from elsewhere using the exact module specified by the Crucial program. AH DIREKT were cheaper. If you have never been inside your computer before, when doing so, ensure that the computer is switched off and the power lead removed. Then to prevent static, which could damage delicate electronics inside the computer, touch a bare metal surface, not a computer component. Be sure to locate the precise memory slot that you are going to use for the new memory module and then orientate the memory, so that the small slot in between the gold connectors on the memory module, will fit onto the peg within the memory slot on the motherboard. It should fit exactly into the slot – no overhang. Press your memory module into its slot using evenly spaced, gentle, but firm, pressure. If located properly, all of the memory’s gold connectors should have disappeared into the memory slot. Do not over exert.

Crucial is a name I've floated between for more years than I care to mention. Many years ago, you just selected the right size and speed of your RAM you needed, paid for it...and installed it. Simple! Well...kind of simple...if you knew how. As technology has marched on, DDR has turned to 2, then 3 and now DDR 4 or beyond. Motherboard technology has also marched on a pace, with more boards than you could possibly imagine. This means that your choice of memory to motherboard is a bewildering jungle to try to converse and find the right memory for your precious computer. Thankfully if you visit Crucial's website armed with the make and model of your motherboard, their website will point you in the right direction.A recent AMD FX build threw a demand for DDR3 RAM, checked the website and went straight for 8gb. Vital for running Windows 10 on because less than 8gb of RAM on a system with Win10 is asking for frustrating times. I will, in time, buy another 8gb of the same RAM to give that build more headroom. And if you asked me if I could recommend Crucial memory for general day to day work and light gaming or decent workloads... then yes... wholeheartedly. If you want "gaming" performance, sling more cash into higher frequency....bigger sized....faster paced RAM which Crucial and their competitors will offer you. Then hey...Crucial will help you out with that need too. Speaking from experience I can honestly say that this type of RAM is a jack of all trades. Most systems these days will need a maximum of 16gb unless you're doing some serious workloads. And...I...MEAN... SERIOUS. So the short of it is. Is this item worth your money? Yes. Yes it is. Hope this review helps.

Been creating concept artwork and painting for 7 years with an old computer running with 8GB ram on Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Throughout the years, the 8GB memory ram started to struggling to speed up the process, because the new Adobe new releases for Windows 10 I’ve upgraded from 8.1 after my Windows XP 2000 died on me.For years, I never thought about upgrading a memory rams because I always saving money for new computer to run each Adobe new release to try out with new painting brushes. Until then I decided to do some research for get a right ram to speed up my 7 years old computer from 8GB ram to 16GB ram on a H16M-HVS motherboard. Been getting fed up with my 4 year old pc.After watching YouTube videos about laptops I realised I should look at how much memory my pc has because maybe I could upgrade the memory to boost performance.using Mr. Memory website and using their tool it gave me memory upgrades and I searched amazon for compatible memory sticks. Found this and within 2 days I upgraded the memory. Took out the 4gb that was in the pc for this 8gb stick from crucial who I know are big pc accessories company and what can I say. My pc feels like new I can open up programs much quicker it zips through my work flow. Thinking whether I will add another 8gb but rest assured the crucial stick does what it should.comes in a simple plastic cover. It's very simple to install and really does the job. Feel confident that your getting the real deal here. My only gripe if I have one is that for memory needed for a 4yr old pc £40 is a bit expensive but it's still cheaper than buying a new pc that will do more or less the same thing as what you have now. Very happy customer

My son needed more memory in his PC as 8Gb was not enough to run his VM's. He had a single 8Gb DIMM fitted so bought this to double it. This of course has had the effect of not just providing 16Gb of memory but also provided a speed increase due to enabling dual channel memory access. Easy to fit by anyone with a bit of reading if you do not already know what to do. The only issue for us was that it was tight getting to one of the memory retaining clamps due to the graphics card cooling but still completed within 5 minutes which included disconnecting the rear connections to enable removing the PC from a desk cupboard to lie on it's side for easy access. The hardest thing to do was before buyingto ensure that the new memory would be compatible with the existing memory.Once fitted double checked with Speccy to make sure that both memory modules where running at the same frequency and on the same timings, etc.

Hi My Mother Just recently bought me These 2 4GB Memory Sticks. My Dell OptiPlex 780 Dt is running Really great now. I discovered that for some other people to know. You have to first remove all your memory sticks from your computer, then just install the new Crucial 4GB sticks in Slots 1 & 2 with leaving slots 3 & 4 empty. My Computer wouldn't boot up with the 2 4GB & 2 2GB in the my computer. Once my Computer Booted up and I signed in on the 2 4GB Memory sticks I then shut off my computer and installed my older 2 GB sticks in Slots 3 & 4. My computer booted up and I saw a total of 12GB of Memory installed. I included a Diagram of which slots are which in my Computer.I hope this helps others if they have a booting up problem.THANKS, Crucial & Amazon for having this Item! I plan on Buying 2 More 4GB sticks for a Total of 16GB in my computer. Thanks again,Sincerely,Billy.

I had to return this package. But only because of a slight incompatibility with the existing RAM in my older machine. I used Crucial's website scanner and this was the recommendation. The RAM boots but causes lock ups and crashes. After some research I found the RAM I have installed (Crucial's Balistix gaming RAM) uses 1.5v. This package uses a more typical 1.35v. The Crucial site scanner does not check for this.By themselves the 2 sticks work great with no issues! I'm sure it would work for gaming as well. It's just not specifically made for gaming like the Balistix line from Crucial. This RAM works fine for most DDR3 applications. I just wanted to warn folks to check your existing memory carefully for compatibility. If these are going in an empty (compatible) motherboard? You should be ok and it works great!

I wanted to upgrade my ageing 5th gen PC, and have my pc to be more capable of video editing and running multiple apps, I already have Kingston 8GB ram installed which has been reliable since 2014, and decided to get the crucial 16gb DDR3 1600mhz. I chose this as I knew that Crucial is reliable and will work flawlessly with my Kingston fury memory. As a footnote you can mix different brands of memory as along as the speed is the same. I now have the 24GB RAM and my system is stable and performs well with Photoshop/ and video editor without any crashes or bluescreen. I have used Crucial previously in my laptops and have had many years of service without any issues.I recommend this item for anyone who wants to upgrade their PC without comprising on the quality and the performance.

I am a technical engineer. I bought this memory for a desktop that only had 8GB of RAM. The most important thing about ordering memory is you order the correct memory. Knowing the model of your computer is critical. This memory will give the computer 16GB of RAM and will use less swap space meaning your hard drive will not work as hard. Sure enough after installation, I ran a memory test on a hardware layer, and it passed as expected. This will help going forward as I believe Windows 10 should never be running with less than 16GB. My compute experience going forward definitely improved the speed.Crucial is a well know brand, and comes in at a medium price point.Kind of a most bang for the buck without buying cheap silicone that produces errors.

Whilst I have a reasonable amount of practical competence I am not an electronics engineer and was more than a little apprehensive about fitting these to my 9 year old Dell. I watched and read every piece of information I could find and decided I would go for it. I followed the instructions to the letter and used tips I had found in my research, like ‘don’t use a vacuum cleaner to remove the dust from inside’. The old memory came out easily, the new went in without a problem having made sure they were paired correctly. Cover on, power on and away it went! The first time it was switched on it was a little slow to start up but no problems after that. The memory is recognised, all seems to be good, and I am both relieved and pleased.

This review is for the Crucial 8GB Kit (4GBx2) UDIMM CT2K51264BD160B. It works great in my Optiplex 780 USFF, A few items to note about this computer and this memory. 1) You have to update the BIOS, for me that meant updating to A15 in order for the computer to recognize all 8 GB of memory. 2) You have to be running a 64 bit OS or the OS won't recognize all the memory. 3) Every official statement from the manufacturer will state this computer only supports 4 GB total, that was true with the original BIOS version. 4) This computer has only two memory slots so 8 GB is the maximum memory it will support, this is apparently because each DIMM slot will only support up to 4 GB each and there are only two slots.

Work/PlayThe memory is not compatible with DDR3 mixed into the motherboard channels in any configuration I have tried. The memory is excellent on its own, and I plan to purchase another set to fill out the Slots, but I cannot use it with the base ddr3 memory(samsumg) that came pre-installed on purchase.I have run memtest/cpuz and attempted multiple configurations. I am fairly fluent in hardware configs, specs and usage, and validated usual concurrent points with SPD,CAS latency and voltage etc through the toolings.Be wary that if you are attempting a similar feet with the H97 chipset, that the operating system will hard-reboot from the kernel is these issues occur.

Now that I have to work from home, I needed faster machine. I upgraded my system from 8 gigs of RAM to 32 gigs of ram. It was easy to remove these and install these in my very old HP system. I also added a SSD HD. now it boots up fast and runs much more smoothly.Did you know the more RAM you have in your system the longer your SSD drive will work? That's because it has to do less "paging" (your OS won't use your SSD HD as RAM as often as it would have) now that you have more RAM in your system. For SSD, it is recommended that your system RAM should be 32 to 64 gigs to help extend life of your SSD drive. My computer could only take 32 gigs, so it is now maxed out.

Our PC running W10 ( with all updates) had 6Gb of RAM ( 2G + 4G in two slots) and I had noticed it slowing down. Most of the time the existing RAM was running at 5Gb - so not completely full. However , on removing the 2G and adding the new 8Gb, I noticed that whilst the "system drivers and processes" were still occupying about 5-6 Gb, it was clear that the rest of the RAM is being used for "cached data and code not currently being used". I had missed this use of RAM before.Things do seem to be faster now and so far the hard disc has not been at 100% - which it was before. On this basis , I would conclude that W10 should have at least 12 Gb for best performance.

The memory card was tight in the slot, and I removed one of the the existing 4 Gig cards (slot # 1 of 2) and replaced it with this 8 Gig card; thus giving me 12 Gig with which to work. It worked first time on my Acer XC-605G desktop computer. The computer on boot up uses nearly 3.5 Gig of memory for all the Windows, Adobe, and other installed programs. The original 8 Gig total would bog down as I frequently have many windows open while doing my work; this extra 4 Gig has helped speed things up and I have far less memory outage situation.Note that you need a x-64 based system if you want to use 16 Gig of memory, the x-32 based systems may be limited to 8 Gig.
