Bought this to augment a new PC my partner bought for himself. I decided to buy another stick of ram via Amazon as it was a lot cheaper than getting the RAM as part of the PC. This was the same specifications as the original stick of RAM in the computer but a lot cheaper than the manufacturer of the PC as well as on various other websites.RAM was packaged as usual in a plastic container and was easy as pie to install. If you are installing RAM for the first time then bare in mind it is best to have pairs (in most computers) of the same size RAM. In our case we now had a pair of identical 4GB RAM, giving a total of 8GB. Most computers also have colour coded RAM slots which are staggered. In our case Orange, Blue, Orange, Blue. It is advisable to put the two identical sticks in the same colour, in our case we put both sticks of RAM in the orange slots. If we were to upgrade to 16GB we would get two more sticks of this RAM and put in the two blue slots. So to summarise this was easy to install, packed well and has really improved the performance of my partners computer, especially with gaming (games such as minecraft run a LOT faster!). Great little purchase and good value for money!

when i opened the package and compared it to the Ram already in my Asustek CM1740-i thought "Oh no its DIFFERENT!" Anybody who's ever gone inside their box knows what that usually means...but in this case all was well. This chip, at least the one i got, is HALF the width (height not length i.e. same width and pins as the memory in the photo just SMALLER). I compared it to the memory from my comp, and even though it was half the height (if you were looking at the meory as installed) and the pins, and the open locater slot were the same...so with some misgivings i popped it into the empty slot. On the board. And it went in fine, the white latches locked, then booted the computer half praying the board wouldn't now burn up or some such and there was nothing to worry about, everything worked fine. The mobo recognized the memory right away. I did not, and could not set the memory speed in the BIOS as some people said they had to do. Not sure how they get 4 gigs of memory on a chip half the height but they do. it works normally even if it doesn't LOOK like it should!

Kingston memory - along with some other brands - means reliability which was the foremost reason for buying this. It was only £6 more expensive than a lesser brand at the time of purchase. Understand the extra paid is not just for the name but for the quality and reliability. It has been in an office machine, which is a makeshift server running all the time, for some time now and I dare say it will still be running for years to come. I've done IT for years (sigh) and from experience in memory failure / incompatibility I wouldn't hesitate in buying Kingston again. I do like other branded memory too but this review is of course for a Kingston.

As a general precaution anyone buying RAM these days should check with the motherboard maker before placing the order. This stick was to replace another bought on understanding ALL types of DDR2 and DDR3 were genetically the same. But ask if PC warranty issues will be covered by the manufacturers and you get a very different story, "we haven't tested/do not recommend, use at your risk" is a common response.I also wish there was some way to verify the frequency as most BIOS and tools give figures that are typically half the actual rate.Oh yes, the RAM is doing fine, covering all my ewes with flair.

My son told me to buy from a named company, and I'd seen Kingston Tech on many PC builds via the net. When it first arrived I thought I'd got the specs wrong, it was tiny. So I had a go of installing the RAM and it fits and works like a dream. It's got a lifetime warranty, which is nice. Amazon kept me up to date with the delivery date, so I knew when it would come, it only took two days. I ran a benchmark test with just 4 GB and it was ok, but with the whole 8 GB in it, it's passed all the test with flying colours. Will buy Kingston Tech again, thats the truth.

The summary statement kind of says it all. A new Lenovo workstation we purchased came with just a single 4 GB DRAM. We purchased this to fill the other slot. It was very reasonable through Amazon.com. The extra RAM (plus installation of a new Samsung SSD, also purchased from Amazon) seems to have doubled the computer's performance. (It really is A LOT faster!) We always go with Kingston for our RAM needs.

Smallest form factor chip ive ever seen! thought it was server ram or something I'd been sent by mistake! It stands about half as tall off of the mobo as your average stick. But it is as its says 4gb of DDR3 and is doing nothing to lag my machine nor have I had a single corrupt memory thread that I'm aware of.For the price it'll certainly last you until you can afford some more serious sticks!

I was initially concerned I'd ordered the wrong part as the memory card is about half the height as the others that were OEM. Snapped it into place and it worked just fine. I've had it in place for about a month now with no issues. When I want to but another I'll definitely consider this one.

Does exactly what it says on the tin, Kingston have always supplied good quality, wallet friendly products - and even excellent calibre products for their higher ranges - with a good warranty behind them. If you're not looking for anything overboard, Kingston basics are fantastic buys.

I bought this ram to upgrade a Dell Optiplex desktop computer. This ram is actually half the size of what is in the picture and looks of higher quality. It is still Kingston, but looks like a newer model. Works great on the computer and affordable! Would recommend.

The ram module is shorter than the original ones in my computer, so I was worried at first. But it fit perfectly and snapped in place just fine, as a regular 240 pin DD3 ram. It was recognized immediately, and works great. Using it on a Gateway DX4860.

Plugged into my Dell 660S and worked without any problem. I upgraded the RAM and changed the hard dirve to SSD and it has made my computer much faster. Powers up and shuts down in about a quarter of the time it used to take. Well worth the money.

My wife's PC was chugging along, I ordered 4 more gig of the Kingston Technology ram. It took me longer to get into the case then it did to install ram.Great product, affordable price. Delivered promptly as always, and I earned a huge hug.

this ram is going straight in my computer it tops off at 16 gigs but 8 is good enough for now lol this ram was big in the 80s when I used to build computers. and I thought I`d get back into it. some of this new stuff blows my mind hahaha

It works fine, except, the picture is not what I got, I actually was shipped the more expensive low profile version of this, which I am fine with, becuase that is actually like 10$ more, but still, I didn't get what was advertised.
