This is a really beautiful pen and is fully deserving of five stars. My only quibble is regarding the instruction sheet that comes with it. The print is very small, in a number of languages and covering a range of products, not just this one. Looking at the pen, and ignoring the instructions, it is pretty clear what you have to do to change the refill and replace it with a new one, but it wasn't that easy! The old one didn't want to budge and I was on the point of using a pair of pliers to get it out when it finally decided to unscrew. What should have taken a few seconds took about ten minutes because the refill was screwed in so tight and I didn't want to risk damaging the pen.

Lovely, lovely pen. Feels great in the hand and is well-balanced. Looks fantastic. The picture doesn't do it justice.Why not 5 stars you may ask? Well... that is because of the ink cartridge. The ink does not flow brilliantly. It says 'Cross' on it, so I assume it is authentic, but it writes very patchily. It's like the paper has grease on it all the time (this is what I first thought). On trying a cheap generic refill... this worked fine, and so no harm done.But I have found with the past few Cross pens I have ordered from Amazon, that the refills are very poor quality. Cross obviously do great pens, but I'd advise anyone to stock up on a few generic refills before you buy one.

Ok first 2nd purchase both for gifts my only niggle is Cross should put a blue refill in pen at factory .Pen is a chunky but rather nice pen.Ok first purchase it was at bargain price of £19.99 2nd time price increase was now retailing at £29.99 but don't be put of this pen its worth the asking price . To fair the Recommended retail price is £39.99 .A footnote if you want a blue refill the product number is 8511 . The pen is nicely done and ok it's not a hundred dollar item but if your on a tight budget like myself it ticks all boxes .Plus comes in nice presentation box so again another plus point .

It writes incredibly, feels amazing to write with as well as looking just like £300 + montblanc pens, at a fraction of the cost - and having been an owner of mont blanc pens I can truly say that I prefer this one. The only reason I leave four stars is because I have found that the cap of the pen comes off very easily when you try and clip it or clip it from a pocket, it could be more secured in place with a twisting mechanism as well as the ink in the cartridge not lasting for very long and having to be replaced.

I brought this Cross Bailey Red Lacquer pen for my husband’s birthday. It’s more of a burgundy colour. He likes the smart look of it and said, it’s nice to hold, writes nicely, no blobs, and the ink flows beautifully every time. He likes The sheerness & the medium thickness of the ink. Although, not cheap I feel it was good value for money as he’s so happy with it I’ve also purchased the refills that are available. So I’m sure he will be using this pen for a good few years to come.

Very similar to a Month Blanc, I know because I have one, and writes just as well.It feels solid and we'll made without being too heavy in the hand. Cross refills are worth buying because they so rarely "blob" but buy the originals. I've tried replacements and they have so far proved a waste of money - the quality has been do poor you'd be better off with a Bic!For the money, this is a great pen and probably looks more expensive than it was.

Product packaging looks devieving when you first get it. There is a review above which suggests it comes in cheap plastic packaging. Mine came looking exactly like this. The presentation box is inside the carton and looks exactly like the image.The outer packing is plastic to protect the display box and the pen. The pen is wonderful to use ( this is my second, I got another gifted to me) and they are wonderful to use.

Received this pen as a gift for my birthday and have been so impressed with it I have subsequently bought 2 as gifts myself. Over the years I have had some very expensive top of the range pens and can honestly say that this pen is far better to write with , looks far better and also gets a lot more compliments from business associates due to the quality. Would recommend this pen 100% over any other.

Always want a decent daily use ballpoint for myself. Purchased this one after some research.The pen is very well made, feel solid with some weight. If you look for a lightweight pen, it is might not be your choice. But I always believe good quality pen come with weight. To me, it is just as good as those Montblanc which costs 10 times more.So pleased with my decision.

I got this on an Amazon Marketplace deal - and for the price I paid, it's excellent. It's a solidly made, weighty, well-balanced ballpoint pen and the Cross refill is as smooth as can be. There is a sense of "plastickiness" overall, if I'm honest - but, for the price, and for this top brand, and for the overall feel - it's a great pen.

I bought this as a leaving present for a colleague and it came with a pouch which was a nice addition. The box was however slightly damaged by the Cellotape that had been used to keep it closed so when I took it off to check the pen it left an unsightly sticky mark on the box which was a shame. Overall it looked a very stylish pen

I bought this as a gift for my husband who is quite particular about pens so I was taking a risk. The pen came in a nice presentation Cross box, suitable for a gift. The pen is a decent heavy weight and writes well. The ink flows easily and it’s nice fine writer. Good value and I’d happily buy again especially as a special gift.

A beautiful pen, looks fabulous. The stock refill is mediocre for writing with though. The pen feels slightly top heavy when writing, but nothing too troubling. I think I'd prefer a click type pen to this twist to open design, but that's just me. Haven't yet figured out how to change the refilll, I think it will need tools.

I was on the look out for a good quality ball point pen, & I found it in this. I've always thought of Parker being the best but after writing with this pen I'm a believer, it's a total different experience & I fully recommend this pen to anyone who wants to buy someone a gift, or like me you write allot.

This pen looks so much more expensive than it was. Perfect shape and weight make it a lovely pen to hold. For this cost, and quality, it is a no brainer for those who want a quality writing implement at minimal cost. Would make an excellent and impressive gift. Have no hesitation in recommending.
