This is an okay product... just okay.It feels slightly cheap, both in the materials and the movement (when turning the screw-style plunger, and when inserting the whole thing into a pen). I am not confident about how long it will last. It is also a bit like a pen tax when you have to buy these separately for every single Cross pen you acquire; even cheap-as-chips Moonman pens come with a converter gratis!There is a windowed segment which shows you how much ink is in the reservoir. The one issue is that the plastic is a smokey colour, so if like me you have various pens in the collection with different inks in them it can be tricky to confirm exactly which colour is in there.

Fits most modern and recent Cross fountain pens with a screw-in fitting. Others utilise the push-fit version (Product Code CC8751).As with all similar piston converters, their capacity is rather limited, mostly within the range of 0.7 - 0.9ml which is usually sufficient for several sides of lined A4 paper. Heavy users may need to refill twice daily or more.One advantage of the filler system is that allows a wider choice of ink brands and colours, especially when there is a single choice of brand of ink cartridges as also applies to Sheaffer and Parker pens.

The illustration is out-dated as the product has been revised to have a smoky grey body. Functionally, it is as before and fits most Cross models - the two major exceptions are printed on the back of the bubble pack. A worthwhile alternative to using cartridges when convenience and practicality allows, and also provides better long-term economy if filling from a bottle. A far wider range of ink brands and colours then becomes possible.Although Sheaffer is now owned and manufactured by Cross, the fitting is quite different and this is not suitable.

This is a good filler, easier to get ink than special cartridges or generic ones which often are a poor fit, also you can get more colours in bottled ink. It fits my Cross fountain pen nice and securely. I have found trouble in fitting these devices to pens in the past, so probably best to get the right one for your pen. It's undeniably more pricey than others, and not much different, there you go, not all that expensive in any case.

There are two versions of the converter. This one (8756 on the pack, near the top right) is for Cross Fountain Pens EXCEPT Townsend and Aventura. You need the one with 8751 on the pack if you have one of those. The Cross website is helpful if you need to peruse pictures to work out which one you have.Product works fine - just a review to tell you which one you need!

I bought a Cross Apogee fountain pen and needed to use green ink. Cross don't make green ink cartridges so I contacted them and they recommended buying this converter and using Pelikan ink. It does what it claims and I'm glad I bought it rather than try and find Cross equivalent cartridges on Ebay.

It's a converter that fitted my cross ATX really well. The it is nice and snug good screw in system. Wish these were provided as standard with all fountain pens. As far as converters go excellent quality ad middle of the road price. Still amazon excellent fast service, well packaged.

Beautiful looking pen- tho purple is my favourite colour!! Nib is good to write with. Have bought a barrel ink converter- just screw in and use your own inks! Pen is a good weight and has a good feel in your hand. If you like fountain pens this is a good, well priced, quality option.

After getting fed up with receiving cartridges that were only half full at best I purchased on of these along with a bottle of ink. So glad I did, far better value for money and far less plastic waste. Shame that Cross fountain pens do not come with these as standard

Delivered promptly and securely packaged from potential damaged. It fitted a treat in my Beverly pen. It looks solidly built and built to last. Personally, I would prefer proprietary converters to ensure a secure and leak proof fit for any of my pens.

Straight forward and easy to use. Much cheaper to just ink pots than to keep buying cartridges and id imagine better for the environment. It hasn't leaked and the flow remains good so couldn't really tell a difference, which is a good thing.

The unit screws into the nib section easily and makes a leak-proof fit. The twist piston action on the converter works ok, though I still find an air pocket tends to prevent the whole chamber from filling. otherwise it's fine, well made.

Really nice handling pen, writes very smoothly across the surface with no scratching. I ordered a fine nib but compared to my other pens this still seems to be on the thick side, if I write using the nib upside down it writes thin

Does exactly as it says. The item came extremely fast and is comparable with my pen (which was my only concern). The item is very easy to use and the simple instructions on the back of the casing make it even easier.

however.....it is a shame that Cross no longer include these with the pen. I purchased a Cross Year of the Dragon limited edition pen - hugely expensive - and, at that price, it OUGHT to come with a converter.
