I mistakenly bought the same Corsair RAM XMS-3 (but the 1600mhz CL11)Instead I should have bough these as these have a (CL9 Latency making them noticeably faster.!!)However, I thought because these were 1333mhz (that may make them slower, how wrong I was). This ram can be very easily with a few mouse clicks overclocked to over 1600mhz upto 1750mhz stable. The 9 the smaller number the better as this is the access time to which the CPU accesses the Core RAM,nano small Capacitors. So with the much more expensive 1600mhz RAM at 15 pounds Extra per stick, is poor mans money down the drain,a total of 30 pounds loss for memory that (is inferior to this CL9 1333mhz) 16GB Paired at 8GBx 2 CL9 sticks = 16GBI read in an article,in Custom PC a monthly Mag, mainly suitable for all Geeks and Nerds on 'an overclocking budget'.!Okay, yes, in the end I sold my Corsair XMS-3 CL11 1600mhz, and bought these instead to try, from eBuyer because Amazondo tend to sell out regular, at the just under 50 price point. (so if you see them under 50 Quid per 8GB Stick, than dig in shallow, and purchase; as Amazon UK are definitely cheaper than any other e-tailor for this RAM in 8GB Sticks.I must say if you are new and enthusiastic to the world of 86's or the PC & Windows OS or Dual Boot with Linux OS.Then YES! if you're a Gadget addict, it can happen to anyone, it will not affect your health, but will shrink your Pocket.!Please come back to Amazon UK more often, because I have been a regular weekly/monthly customer ofAmazon UK for well over 10 years. I can only say before it was eBuyer and scan, but I must say Amazon UK Now thatThe Amazon Market-Place have a Bigger and Better variety of components, at most certainly usually cheaper prices, thiswebsite is the one stop shop, for all PC Electronics, Motherboards, SSD's, RAM, Mechanical Hard Drives, LED's & LCDMonitors, 100's of Gaming mouse mats, Wireless Laser & Optical Gaming Mice, Wired USB & Wireless Keyboards.Get involved in the thousand's off Amazon UK online help, support, & Geek Blogs, if you're knowledgeable with the PCThen please climb aboard and help out, we need, more folks like you, if you can give 30 mins Once per week. Fab.!!Now back to this RAM, it scores very highly on the Windows index experience score board, my 16GB, 2x of these 8GBoverclocked, from 1333mhz to nearly 1730mhz with a small Voltage increase on my R.O.G Z87 Motherboard from 1.65vto just over 1.75v something easily maxes is out to a Max score off 7.9That's with Good Old' faithful Win & 64Bit, - (Be nice, to see it under WINDOWS 8, index experience higher scores)Please note I do no advocate using, nor have ever used; any memory boosting apps, which are out there, they simplydo not work, and never ever have, only make the developer money, and you bet he's laughing, their can be no substitutefor a regular Bios update.Get yourself a San-disk, Crucial, Samsung, Integral, or even Kingston USB 3.0 Stick, as for a keep sake, keep alist of all your Bios updates, on it, they are inexpensive, and are the very best tool for an error FREE Bios update .Please do NOT use the new software with some major branded Boards to make it easier for Noobs.! but what can be moreeasier that putting in a memory stick into the back of you're motherboard, to make sure you get the("best chance of an error FREE UPDATE to your Bios").Thanks! for reading my 80 cents worth... I have to admit to having been rather suspicious about these memory modules. After all, Corsair is a top RAM brand, and isn't DDR3 the fastest RAM? Four GB for less than 20 pounds, and free delivery! I paid four times that two years ago for the identical 4GB already installed in my PC. Perhaps the RAM would be `factory refurbished' returns from other unhappy buyers.Well, MyMemory delivered in four days. The packaging was sealed, new and not dog-eared as I half expected. Whatever happened to anti-static packaging? The two memory modules, made in Taiwan, were each snugly fitted in a plastic shell which could be prised open with fingers alone, no scissors required. The weight of the aluminium heat sinks gave the modules a feeling of quality and they certainly looked the business. There are no instructions. No attempt is made to provide any information on how to fit them or what precautions to take, so if you're new to fiddling with the internals of a PC, read the relevant pages of the motherboard manual (it'll be in plain English) or do some research on the web. It's a simple job and can be done in about 5 minutes if you know what to do - and a `computer expert' will probably charge about forty pounds for doing it. The outer carton unhelpfully suggests `get unlimited support with our tech experts by visiting: asktheramguy dot com' - I've just looked and the website doesn't exist.Anyway, the modules installed without problem and the PC has happily recognised them. So I can happily recommend both MyMemory and this Corsair RAM.Be aware, however, that the product shipped from Jersey and so prices will be going up 20% in April 2012 when the VAT loophole is closed.

I have had one of these in my PC for seven months now. I have had no issues whatsoever. The DIMM was easily installed - unlike some sticks I've had in the past, which required a worrying degree of downward force on the motherboard to slot in properly - and I have experienced zero performance or stability issues with it since. The heat-spreader that covers the "guts" of the circuitry gives it a nice quality, streamlined appearance, which isn't particularly important since it's going to be living out of sight inside the case anyway, but it also makes handling the item less fiddly and less potentially damaging versus putting your grubby mitts directly onto the solder and silicon of a bare stick (presumably the plastic also offers some insulation against static charge, always a danger to electronic components equipment when handled directly). Oh, and it obviously keeps it cool too, not that overheating is a problem I've ever experienced with RAM, but hey ho! it can't hurt. When you can pick up a quality piece of equipment like this so cheaply, and from a reliable and trusted brand like Corsair, there is simply no reason to settle for hit-and-miss unbranded RAM sticks that cost almost as much. Nor will you find much real value from shelling out a lot more on fancy "premium" memory (unless to plan on overclocking the RAM itself, for all the tiny real-world benefits that will get you).I have just purchased a second stick to upgrade the memory to 8GB total. In short, this has been a very satisfactory purchase, and comes highly recommended.

I currently have an Intel Core i7 rig with 3x2Gb of Patriot Viper 1600MHz memory and Windows 7 64-bit. The exact model of memory is no longer available for a perfect match and this Corsair XMS3 was the closest match with the same 9-9-9-24 timings at 1.65v and up to 1600MHz rated. I don't use the XMP so I will not rate this feature.I placed an order on a Monday afternoon, it was dispatched on Tuesday morning and arrived on Thursday morning direct from Amazon with super saver delivery. That is impressive by any standards! The package was small enough to fit through my letterbox and arrived in perfect condition.I opened my case and installed the RAM into my Gigabyte X58A-UD3R motherboard DIMM slots in 5 minutes and so I now have two sets of triple channel memory or 6x2Gb = 12Gb.The BIOS and Windows 7 64-bit (note that 32-bit can only use 4Gb of memory) recognised the extra memory right away and the system booted up first time with no obvious issues so far. For the hardcore gamers out there, this did not appear to impact my overclock but has increased my temperatures by up to 5% with the memory controller on the CPU working harder to address all the channels.Overall, I am pretty pleased with this memory, the performance is more than enough for current games and the price is good (other sites are cheaper but you pay more for delivery). Thanks Amazon.

Purchased 4GB kit (2*2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3-12800) CL9 which are rated at 1.65V, however they work perfectly without any configuration in my AMD 890GX setup which has a DDR3 memory controller normally using 1.5V DIMMs.As my motherboard ran the memory at a default 1333MHz (same as the onboard 1Gb/128MB sideport) I overclocked the DIMMs to run at their rated maximum speed 1600MHz, which can be simply achieved by either:1. Changing the memory ratio from 6.66x to 8x2. Or keeping the 6.66x memory ratio and increasing the HT Link from 200 to 240 MHz (HT Link bus speed becomes ~2400MHz)This 2nd option requires further modifications as it is overclocking the system not just the memory, but this is best if you have a Black Edition AMD CPU as they have loads of headroom for overclocking. When the memory is running at 1600MHz it is best to ensure the Memory SPD Timings/Latencies are set to CL 9ie. 9-9-9-24 this will optimise the system memory stability. Often you may need to change the Command Timing/Rate from 1T (fine at slow speeds) to 2T.The performance coupled with the lifetime warranty makes this is a 5 / 5 Star product.

I have had all manner of assorted RAM issues, mostly self inflicted i might add, using cheaper and unknown brand RAM.Having bench tested all the RAM chips i have used, these are by far the most stable and efficient i have come across. They stay very cool under load.RAM chips dont tend to set fire to themselves anyway lol, but these run a few C's under my previous batch.I ended up buying 4 matched sets of this RAM to replace my previous glaring error of mixed timing/brand chips and now it just runs like someone lit a candle up its backside. So its safe to assume the perfectly match clock speeds plus the utter perfection of all Corsair products, has given rise to a new lease of life in this 16gb system.i use my PC for music production as im a full time composer, so the RAM is the backbone of whats happening for me daily.i tend to load in a big template of sounds and knowing that they are completely stable and being addressed quickly with no glitches or stutter/bottle necks, is a weight off my mind.i recommend these chips 100%

Nowadays you can never be sure of quality memory. With so many third party brands selling at all time cheap price, its more quantity than quality. This branded memory from Corsair though is the exact opposite from that. You can immediately tell from the very time the package comes through your door.Well done amazon on the speedy delivery and packing. This memory oozes quality, all you have to do is run your finger along the top of it and you can tell that it's been made carefully to very high standards. It was a doddle to install into my i3 based motherboard and carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty for your own piece of mind.Performance wise was on par with what i already had but i mainly upgradedbecause i only have 2 slots on my motherboard and with this RAM I could have one spare for when hopefully amazon come up the 8gb on one stick from corsair. If you're reading this then don't hesitate to buy at 14.99 (in October 2011) it's a bargain!

The item came packaged really nicely by Corsair and I will admit I was excited by the box containing so much power. As soon as my new motherboard turned up I slotted the RAM chips into the appropriate slots, it was a very snug fit but that just made them feel secure. When booting up my new system for the first time the properties only read about 3.25 Gig as useable making me think I had an error with my RAM chips, fortunately this wasn't the case as it was just me running a 32 bit version of Windows. Installing the 64 bit version unlocked the full potential of this RAM and it has been incredibly useful in my media demanding system, keeping up with my processor and meshing really well.I was suspicious of the price as it seemed a little low but as far as I can tell it is a genuine Corsair product, one which I'm very happy with. For reference I use a ASUS PRO/USB3 motherboard and a 3.2GHz AMD Phenom quad core as the basis of my system.

I bought this particular version of Corsair to double up the 8GB of identical memory already installed and known to work. Although intended for Intel processors, it works well enough with my AMD Phenom II 965 CPU which has been modestly OC'd to 3.67GHz by the on-board ASUS software. I'm not much of a gamer, and doubt this memory is intended for heavy over-clocking, so I wouldn't try exceeding its 1600MHz rating. I have tried this exact same Corsair memory on a Gigabyte motherboard with an AMD Phenom II 555 CPU with similar results. Your BIOS might report its speed as 1333MHz, but you can either adjust it up manually, or let the motherboard software set it for you.The heat spreaders aren't excessively large and make convenient handles when installing or removing. If you want RAM that "just works" on any platform and is very affordable then I recommend Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1600C9 XMS3.

I just replaced my dead motherboard and processor but found that my new motherboard could not take my 4GB of DDR2 that I had been using so I decided to buy 8GB of this Corsair DDR3 instead. With the 4GB of DDR2 and and dual core processor that I had been using I found that some of my games such as Crysis Warhead had graphical glitches and a lot of vegetation popup. Whilst I waited for the 8GB to arrive I had to buy one 2GB stick from the shop in the interim just so I could use my PC to do work but I found that I was getting a high FPS and glitches (on games)but now the 8GB has arrived and I've installed it my new Intel i5 2500k fairly zings along and all the popup and glitches in the aforementionedgame has all gone.I don't know much about the technical specs of RAM but as I have noticed a considerable difference since I've started using it I can do nothing but recommend it.

Good quality memory from a reliable brand.I've had problems with all the Corsair sticks I've bought recently and their website was very helpful in locating the problem - 1 faulty stick and some compatibility issues with some other sticks I bought. The repairs centre (in the Netherlands) turned around the faulty stick very quickly and they use UPS and not Royal Mail when they ship the replacement so that's a good sign! The only let down was a faulty stick which failed very quickly but I bought two sticks so this was not so bad, and also having to use an overseas repairs centre is not the best. The memory is however fast and stable and is compatible with a huge range of machines.Over all verysatisfied taking everything into account especially the very decent price on Amazon £19 at time of purchase.

Well, what can I say! When I first saw this I thought it had to be some sort of scam! Corsair 1600Mhz RAM for only [...]! Steal! The performance I have got out these is second to none. I have matched them to my Intel Core i3 PC and they have created one of the best computing experiences I've ever had! Many users have to over-clock their RAM to get performance like this, but it just runs seamlessly. I tested it out, with 4GB of 1300mhz Kingston RAM it took me 2 minutes to completely load 30 programs (same time), but this improved that time to just 33 seconds! I would definitely recommend anyone to get this, and especially now seeing it's at such a good price! Not a bad word to say about it!PS: Sorry for my excessive use of "!",it was needed!

Adding 4Gb to my 3Gb RAM made a big difference to even simple things like using Windows Explorer and Word (Windows 7).So memory is probably memory but this one has the chips embedded in something that makes it all feel substantial and for someone who rarely handles the stuff, user friendly.I note, though, that the price went UP 25 per cent in the few days since I purchased at the end of December 2012 so other brands may be cheaper.(And in case yours is an Acer Aspire AX3300 like mine, you do NOT need to remove the big fan and heat sink as is implied by the instructions that came with the PC; just the hard drive and CD drive (one unit) which just have two screws.)

Can't recommend this enough. It comes well packaged and at the time I bought it it was nice and cheap. It looks nice, not to bulky, so it's easy to fit. 1600Mhz so speed isn't an issue. If you know what your doing I'm sure it can be over clocked too. It didn't seem to get to hot either, when under load so that's an added bonus. It is only 4Gb, 2Gb per stick. So that's ample if you just use your PC for everyday use or light gaming or something, but it may be worth getting two sets to make it up to 8Gb or buy the 8Gb set for £60 if you want that performance boost. These are great. Good speed, look good and do the job continually. Had no problems.Recommended.

Re written review. The memory units themselves are awesome. The clocking problems I had been having were all down to BIOS settings. Make sure when you install these units that the BIOS speed is set to 1600 in the memory section. Also remember that this speed is the maximum it will go at, it doesnt run at it all the time. As for the built in heatsinks I havent even felt them get warm yet after hours of Call Of Duty MW 3 or indeed any other game for that matter. As for general work I havent had a single blue page since installing them and they are totally compatable with most boards I have used them on.All in all a great buy and well worth the price.
