This is an extremely hard Game to play I find. I purchased it for myself and to only ever play ‘solo’. I discovered on YouTube that this is a very good and exciting solitaire board game, and as I never sleep, I enjoy playing this during the night whilst my partner does. Despite its difficulty, (I don’t suppose I shall ever win) I really enjoy it, though many of my early games were ruined by mistakes, as there is SO much to think about; many actions to remember each turn which are constantly changing due to ‘Special Abilities’ coming into play; Cards being drawn; Resistance Tokens coming into play – and constant Resistance ‘penalties’ – with no-one there to remind you when playing alone if you forget anything...Add this to your Aliens abilities, movement and so on, and you can get really confused... I’m fussy, and so on the immediate realisation of a single mistake I cannot put right – I start all over again with a new game... (can be very frustrating!) However; all this aside, what I like about it is it’s extremely absorbing (for obvious reasons – you’ve no space in your mind to think of anything else!) and so the time flies, and you are totally immersed in every game! I thought the idea of including a CD of music to accompany you whilst you play a very novel idea. I haven’t got around to listening to that yet, since playing during the night (unless I use headphones would disturb my partner) and apart from being too absorbed in learning and playing the game still, but I’m sure this will also become an integral part of the game as I suspect it will give much atmosphere and enhance one’s imagination to the game-play – particularly since the game is based on 1950s Sci-fi – a period I really love for all its naiveties that has not been spoiled by all the realities of today’s technological developments.I must give SO much credit here to ‘Flying Frog’ for the exceptional and outstanding quality of this game at such a reasonable price; it isn’t half as expensive as most co-op/solo games one can buy and I have purchased, yet not only had much, and many more components, to it, but the quality is tremendously outstanding! The Cards are plastic covered; could not be damaged by spills, dirt or any amount of handling of any kind, and would not be creased or bent (unless deliberately) – really thick and glossy (never seen the like before!) – along with all the boards. Great detailed plastic pieces – really no expense spared here, and as someone who owns 700+ games, can tell you, this is quite unusual in a time when too much emphasis is put on making money out of producing cheap stuff than ever there is on supplying quality... This is my first game I’ve purchased by this company, but if all their games are like this, then they deserver a tremendous reputation publicly for it!Great Game, and highly recommended to those who like a solo challenge, beautifully designed games – or simply just something to take their mind off ever day stresses and worries. Great escapism, or perhaps even for someone with worries from which they wish to get some respite.I cannot praise this game – or the quality enough!

You (and possibly your friends) take on the role of aliens invading the planet earth. Work alone, together or against each other to take over the planet while the humans struggle to resist your other-worldly power. This game comes with the usual comedy and light-hearted attitude and yes there is a CD with this flying frog production game as well! All the components are of high quality with solid figures, hard board character sheets and high gloss cards. There are lots of decks of cards although not all are used in some versions of the game and while it quickly changes once the game starts the board does look very plain at the start. The game is reasonably complicated but can be picked up quicklyand overall the game does not take too long to play - co-op or solo games are limited to 10 turns. I love the fact it provides a solo player option but wish you could involve more than 4 players.

A fun, thematic game. Can be played cooperatively or competitively. The game is won by "conquering" location cards that are randomly drawn and defeating any human resistance at the location, which are also randomly drawn, giving the game a lot of replay value. The rules are quite simple and easy to grasp but because the central mechanics in this game are card draws and dice rolls, there is a lot of luck involved, although there are still just enough tactical decisions to make to keep it interesting. It does a good job of invoking that '50s B movie feel and also comes with a CD of awful musack, which you should never play.A very decent game and a lot of enjoyment to be had - not fantasticthough.
