I must confess that I was in two minds as to whether to order this as I wasn't sure how effective it would be. In fact, it works very well although I suspect it will work better on firmer herbs such as dried rosemary or thyme than on softer dried herbs which crumble more easily anyway. I have settled on using it with dried rosemary (I can't be sure whether the rosemary was home-dried by me or was bought but it is the leaves stripped off the plant but not chopped). I use rosemary regularly for sprinkling on meat, vegetables and salads and I figured the mill would crush the rosemary more easily than chopping or crushing it in a pestle. The instructions advise to include some salt crystals to help the grinding process. The mill is certainly much more convenient than chopping rosemary finely so for me it makes sense. It is well made and grinds smoothly.

Really nice little Chilli Mill, will be excellent for using in cooking or even table use, this is the size ideally made for table use as similar size to standard salt and pepper pots. I really like the snazzy red colour for the chilli link! First remark I have to make though is that it does not come with Chilli Flakes so you will need to purchase these separately. I have them in the cupboard anyway so I was very easily able to unscrew the Mill and pour them in. It really grinds up nicely and we found it to be very pleasing. I would recommend this, what I like is that it is table sized rather than some of the larger mills which really are not suitable for table placement, this little mill gives the best of both worlds and its a great addition to the kitchen! Recommend.

I have a mason wooden mill I have loved using for some time nowand looked forward to trying this one out ,it is smaller and alot shorter than the usual 6inch mill I'm used to.I would say it holds about half the volume but I have used it to grind a mixture of chilli flakes, garlic flakes and rock salt and after twisting the knob on top to adjust it grinds perfectly. The materials it is made from are good, the acrylic bottom half is very clear and doesn't distort the veiw of the contents inside.Ceramic burrs are always better and in my opinion usually last longer and grind more evenly this doesnt dissapointThe only downside is I wish that all mills would come with a cap for the bottom to stopdampness getting inside and stop spillage onto the table.

This is a nice mill which grinds very nicely. It's easy to adjust from coarse to fine grind by loosening or tightening the ball nut on the top of the mill, and is able to grind dried herbs and spices very nicely. I've tried it with Fennel, Rosemary and Mint, and it worked nicely with all of them. Filling is simple but a little fiddly due to the narrow opening, so I used a small funnel which makes the task much easier. The green colour of the mill is only a little less vivid than the image in the artwork, but it's still a pleasing shade of green and the materials and construction feel solid and high quality, there's nothing cheap of flimsy about it at all. I'm very happy to recommended it.

Sporting a piano black and clear crystal colour scheme, this is a good looking combination that looks appropriate on the table as well as alongside the hob.The mill can be used to grind pepper or salt but is supplied with neither so you can add your own fresh ingredients. It is easy to fill through the top and, given its relatively small size, holds a good amount. I am using mine for pepper and found it grinds well with some adjustment initially to get the level of coarseness I required. The one I received has developed an annoying squeak whilst grinding, which I hope is just an initial reaction that will reduce as things bed in, if not I will be back to update the review.

This salt mill can be filled with either peppercorns or sea salt. Although it is self explanatory, it actually doesn’t come with any instructions. To fill this, you need to unscrew the silver top of this (this also acts as the adjustment knob, which adjusts how coarse, or fine, you grind whatever is inside). Once you remove the silver top, you can lift off the top and fill this with salt or pepper.I like the clean white lines of this – which looks especially nice when filled with salt. The base is stable, it is easy to adjust and easy to use. This style of mill also comes in black (pepper), red (chilli) and green (herbs/spices).

At about 5" tall this grinder is a bit smaller than the type I prefer but it has a pleasing modern shape and looks good on the table. The grinding mechanism is ceramic rather than metal so there will be no problems with corrosion (some mills with metal grinders corrode over time due to exposure to steam rising from hot plates and cookware). The grinding performance is effective with both sea salt and peppercorns. Not perhaps as good as a Cole and Mason mill (my preferred brand) but cheaper than a C&M and definitely better than most othets on the market that I have tried.

We used this mill for grinding cumin, but you could use it for many other herbs or spices. As per the instructions, we mixed in some sea salt with the spice. The grinder is excellent quality and it produces fine and even results. The whole process really brings the flavour out.

The mill works well, it is a nice red product. It is made of a strong plastic. It is easy to fill with flakes. However, I have noticed the chilli flakes leaking a bit when I pick it up from where I leave it in the kitchen.
