I work as children counsellor and bought this as it was reduced on amazon to see if it would be any good working with the kids I see. I work with children aged 4 -18 so getting something that they enjoy is hard. However this has became a huge hit and I find a guaranteed laugh. There are a set of 3 cards and an egg timer- although designed as a group game I find I adjust it just to play one to one too.The cards are a bit harder for the really youngkids and I find the kids from about 8 upwards understand it better. The cards have 6 options you role a dice and you have to perform one. The choice are a bit weird- easy ones like animals and then things like sipping lemonade. So sometimes the cards aren't ideal. However I have found even the most quietest kids really lovely this and brings them out their shell. There is guaranteed laughter and really brings people together of all aged . Also there is no chance of looking cool playing this- you have to be prepared to be totally daft -but definitely recommended.

I bought this for my kids who are 6+ and they loved it. My wife and I have played it with them as well, and it's great fun. We've played it at family events with teenagers as well, and they enjoy it too. There's 3 charade options on each card, you roll the dice (numbered 1-3) to select which one to do, and then you do the phrase (eg "Putting up the washing") within the time allowed by the supplied timer. For young kids, there are picture cards included of animals and other objects, which they will find easy to do, and you'll soon see them wanting to try some of the more difficult cards as they understand how charades works. My kids never played charades before this, and they love it now.We frequently play this, and you can control the length of the game by deciding how many rounds to play - so the game can last anything from 5mins to 30mins+ based on this approach.

My children (7 and 5) really enjoyed this game and the picture cards mean pre-readers can also join in. My only real complaint is linguistic: there is at least one spelling mistake on the cards ("platting your hair" instead of "plaiting your hair"), and there is incorrect use of capitals ("a Camel", "Eating Baked Beans" etc. - although most words are written with the first letter in lower case). For a product aimed at children who are still learning to read and write, I find this quite disappointing and would expect a higher standard. We took the pragmatic approach of correcting any spelling errors with marker pen as we basically like the game, but I thought it deserved a mention here. The packaging is a little on the large side and not very durable, but these are minor points. All in all a good addition to our games repertoire.

This is a great fun game for all the family. I bought it for two children, aged 4 and 5 last Christmas. There was a whole houseful of people - oldies, teenagers, young couples and children. Some of us started playing it in the living room with the kids after Christmas dinner and when the others heard what a great time we were having, everyone came and joined us and we made up two big teams and had a really great time. The best things about this game are (1) that there are three options on the cards as well as picture cards for pre-reading age kids (2) that the nature of the game encourages even the shyest child (or adult!) to perform and have fun and (3)that it really is a game that works across all ages.Recommended wholeheartedly.

Bought as a christmas present for my 6yo son. Pretty good version of charades, suitable for family play and has provided lots of laughs. Some of the things are more detailed than others - e.g. "writing with a pencil" was a little trickier to get exactly than just "rabbit", but, as with all games we play as a family, we just adapt the rules to suit. Our 6yo picked only from the cards that had a picture with the word/action to make it a little easier. We also didn't insist on the children rolling the dice but instead let them pick an option from their card that they felt they could best act out, and we didn't demand the correct guess to be exactly as printed on the card if it was more detailed.Would definitely recommend this game.

As a family game this one is fun...! We enjoy the fact tha tyou can play it with younger children whoc might struggle with the words but can do the mime by looking at the picture. We have played it several times now in large groups and it has been entertaining from the ages of 3 up to 85. It was played several times over the Christmas period. Some of the things that you have to mime are a little weird, like...... "Walking to school" or something similar to that. How the heck you are going to mime that I do not know...! Overall though the rest are pretty good.It would be useful and extend the life of the game to be able to buy new sets of cards, but you don't seem to be able to do that.Good family fun that is easy to play.

Excellent game for the kids, especially because if you have very young children they can just look at the pictures on the cards and act those out.The only downside is the Dice has either 1, 2 or 3 on it and you have to pick the corresponding number to act out on the cards because there are 3 things to choose from on each card. The downside is if you have young children who will use the pictures, it makes the Dice part of the game completely useless because it is only Number 1 on each card that has the picture on it, so that part of the game does not seem to work very well.So we don't bother with the Dice otherwise it will get too confusing!

We bought this toy to play as a family (2 adults with my 4 year old son). It was easy for him to learn to play and lots of fun. It's good for children of all ages as there are written cards for older children but younger ones can use the picture cards. Great for encouraging creativity and confidence to perform. I can see it being educational as my son gets older as he can practice reading the phrases on the written cards. Fun for adults to play too - some of the games aimed at younger children can get a bit boring but not this one.

Played this game today as my grandchild age 9 was staying over, my friend came for a visit with her grandchild age 3. The picture cards for the younger children is very innovative as it meant the 3 year old could really take part and do her bit in the game too. After the older child whispering in a corner to the little one for a few turns she soon got the hang of it and surprised us all at how well she was able to play...so I'll be purchasing a second game for my friend, oh and we grans had a great time too. Highly recommend!

Great game. They LOVE it, allows children of different ages to play together, they love guessing as much as performing. The mix of pictures and words on the cards really helps those who are not reading yet or who are not confident readers. Have bought it as presents on request after they played the game with our children. Enough cards to keep the game interesting for adults playing too. Can be played in teams or as individuals. Great Holiday game too. Would recommend it.

The great thing about this version is that even children who can't read can play. I know that there will be some parents out there who will say its a bit lazy as you can make your own charades up, but for those of us who need some help this is a fantastic way of keeping children of a wide variety of ages, amused (mine are 4, 6 and 8). it was bought for a party but the children often pick it up and play charades after school, brilliant distraction from the TV!

My only complaint about this game is that there are 3 decks of cards and only one of the decks has pictures. So once your little one that cannot read finishes the deck, he/she must repeat. My solution to this is to print out some of our own pictures from the internet and throw those into the mix. Other than that, I highly recommend. My 3-year-old is too funny when we play and he feels great when he can be a part of family game night without being on a team!

Brilliant fun! A game for the whole family - our four and five year old children love it as did their grandparents when they came to stay. It is very rare to find a game which works for very young children who can barely read but the picture clues work perfectly for them - and the slightly more difficult mimes are still within their capability and experience. Great value for money and delivered in record time, as we've come to expect from Amazon.

Bought this for my daughter initially, we've played it lots since then and its good for helping her recognise new words .some of the cards have a photo of the action on the back (so its great for younger players), other cards in the box have words on the back, so good for older kids who can read...and for teaching younger ones how to read or recognise words.Excellent value for money and have purchase several since as gifts for other kids.

Great fun for the whole family! The cards have a picture clue on one side, and three written clues on the other. This means even the littlest members of the family can play before they can read!We played the picture clues with a 2.5 yr old and two 4 year olds, and the kids loved it. We did cycle through all the cards quite quickly, but that didn't really matter as it just made it a bit easier for them as familiar clues came back up.
