It can be hard trying to find a game that the whole family can enjoy, but this one manages to tick most boxes. If you haven't played Articulate before, it's like charades, only you're able to speak. Each team has a nominated 'describer', who takes it in turns to describe a number of items from the supplied cards - these fall into categories such as 'people', 'world' etc. The more items you can describe before the time runs down, the more spaces you move around the board. The younger children in the family really like to be involved as 'guessers', and actually get along better than some of the older family members (just try describing Henry Hugglemonster to an eighty-year old!).For small families,or those with younger children, it is worth noting that you need a minimum of four players, so we only get this out at family gatherings.

This is one of the best fast-paced board games out there. This version makes it easier for kids to get involved with the fun of which was primarily an adult-orientated game. The rounds are short, but sweet and the varied, frantic descriptions of words, places and names can incite fits of laughter. I would prefer it if the game was a bit longer, but I guess it encourages more rounds where you can change partners. The more highly familiar you are with your partner the easier the game becomes. The more interesting rounds come when you are partnered with someone you don't know as well, leading to more of a challenge where confusion can arise and hence more laughter and more fun.The price is an absolute bargain.

We wanted a game we could all play together (mum, dad, 10 yr old, 8 yr old).Where Pictionary uses drawing to describe and Charades uses actions to describe, this uses words to describe. The rules are simple and gameplay flows well. Apart from the odd answer, it was mostly within their capability and we had a good few games one after the other that were well balanced as to who might win. There are enough permutations that it should have very good replay value for a time to come.We weren't sure whether to go for the adult or children version - this was the right choice and even for an adult, it was fun to play.

We bought this board game on the recommendation of our son's teacher (in a special needs school) who recommended we play the game at home with him to help increase his vocabulary and aid his descriptive language skills. It is an excellent game and one the whole family can enjoy together. It has really helped our son with his language skills and has provided non-stop entertainment for him. To see him enjoy a game with such passion has been brillant and his word skills have really expanded as a result of playing the game.

I first playing the adult verson of Articulate whilst on holiday and my granddaughter aged 9 joined in and really enjoyed it. I bought the junior version for her at Christmas and the whole family enjoy playing it. We use alongside the adult version so the youngsters in the family play using the junior cards and the adults the cards from the adult version. It is great fun, it is also educational as you have to describe various words and everyone can enjoy it from 6-100! You won't be disappointed with this game.

I bought 'articulate' the original game to play as a family at first but it was aimed at older kids and adults and I wanted a family game my 6 year old could join in too. I went ahead and bought 'articulate for kids'. We've had plenty of laughs playing this game. I think it helps boost confidence too as you have to describe/ act out the words on a card for others to guess. And btw, it such a good game, I ended up keeping them both so we can move on to using the other one as the kids get older.

I bought this for the kids (6&8). I was hoping to get them to use their words more and this game is great for that. This game is meant to be for kids, but some of the words were a bit tough for younger ones. But we still had a lot of fun. My only complaint would be that the timer in the game was very quick (approximately 20 seconds). We ended up using the timer from the phone and set it at one minute to make it a bit easier. Definitely a fun family game. Perfect for game nights or holidays.

Usually when we have games night with friend, we adults play the adult articulate and put the kids in a room to entertain themselves. This doesn't work usually cos they always want to join in, with most question being too hard for them.My daughter chose this and we now have lots of fun playing together as a family. My 6 year old son proves to be the best at playing, he does have to skip some of the hard ones. Its perfect for all ages tbh, even I struggle with some of them.

We bought this game as another attempt to find a game we can all play in a house of children varying ages from 5 to 11 it was a massive hit even with the adults we had a number of really good games with this over Christmas and a lot of laughs. As a family that has had little success at board games that all can enjoy over the years I would definitely recommend. You need a few players though the more the funnier and the more chance each team has of getting the clues.

You can't really play this with less than 4 players and you need even number of players. But it is a great game and really develops a child language skills with out them even knowing it.I would say would suit up to 12 yrs, as per manufacturers recommendation.I think every family with more than one child over 6, would love this. And so would the children's teachers-I work in a school and will be recommending we buy one of these as a literacy booster game.

Bought for 8 yr old boy and 11 year old girl for Xmas. They loved it, as did the adults who played with them. You need at least 4 players, can have up to 20. Board is colourful yet simple. Instructions are straightforward. It's a describing game with different categories, and a 30 second egg timer. You could use longer time on phone for younger kids, but the time pressure actually added to the fun and meant no one was waiting long for a turn.

We purchased this to play on Christmas Day for 2 adults and two children (10 and 7). We played in 2 groups and found ourselves engrossed from the start. This really is great fun but moreover really challenges all to think about expressing the clues in a manner that the other team players can understand. I was really impressed how quickly my kids took to it. The clues are suitable for the whole family and we all learned whilst having a real laugh.

This game is great fun for all the family and as you work in teams it's a good way to bring all the family together. My five year, my two teenagers, my parent in her seventies and us in our forty's All joined in, in this fun guessing game. Great night and can't wait to play it again. Definitely a very good buy. Even if you can't read yet you can still play and guess, as you are in teams. So helps to let everyone have a part in this family game.

I bought this for my 9 year old nephew for Christmas - he used the cards from this game whilst the rest of us used the cards from the adult game. It was great as most of the cards were suitable for him however I have to be honest and say that we all struggled with some of the words on the children's game cards and we have since used it where we all just play the cards from this game and forget about the adult version. We had a lot of laughs!!

We really enjoyed this game. My six year old especially enjoyed this and she was very good at it. We played it a lot without the board just using the cards. It is very expensive for what it is but really good. Educationally it helps children understand the meaning of words and helps them to articulate !!! My 9 year old struggles with this game and gets very frustrated if we cannot guess what he is describing. All in all a great family game.
