First, a disclaimer to match my headline:I don't have any experience with "high end" hoodies aside from a very-expensive Prana pullover hoodie I purchased from REI years ago.And now the review:Carhartt brings an amazing value to the customer with this hoodie. The fabric is heavy, the stitching solid, and the zipper is heavy and has a high-quality feel to it. Like the American Giant "Best Hoodie in the World," little details are present such as metallic eyelets where the drawstrings enter into the hood. A nice thing about this hoodie is that it doesn't have a bunch of obnoxious branding on it, so it makes for a good "core component" of your casual wardrobe.I'm 6'0", 190 pounds, 44" chest, and purchased the L size. I like a little bit of room in my hoodies but not gown-like fit, and this hoodie is perfect for me. Fit seems great and XL would definitely have been too large.I was considering dropping some serious $$$ on a set of Reigning Champ hoodies, and while I'm sure they are superior, I'm absolutely satisfied with the Carhartt at less than 1/3 of the price. I purchased three and may purchase more.

I'm bald. My head is always cold. I live in hoodies all winter. I like a few different brands. But I love this one. It's a nice weight and quality. [e.g. the zipper {almost always the thing first to fail on a decent hoodie} is a good metal one.]Most importantly for me, though, is the fit. It's long enough, both in the torso and in the arm. I'm just slightly longer in the torso and shorter in the leg than the average male fashion mannequin. So sue me. But you'd be amazed at how many shirts, sweatshirts, etc. that you might buy in L, or XL, etc. are unexpectedly short in the arm length. Not a big deal for a shirt you plan to wear with the sleeves rolled up. [sure. cool, sometimes]But not a good feature in a cold-weather sweatshirt. Anyway I really like this Carhartt, and will buy another one if they ever make my size availabe in the lime green.

I received you as a gift for Christmas 10 years ago. You were my main hoodie and received almost daily wear. You never let me down and we went through every kind of weather imaginable. You were faded, stretched, but still in one piece with no holes or stains. You held up so well, and I was always bragging to all my friends about you. I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have such a great hoodie fall right onto my shoulders. Most hoodies last a year or two, but you went strong for a decade. Your zipper was always, always smooth and none of you seams ever split. You finally died two weeks ago when you went through the laundry with two crayons. Rest in Peace good friend, your younger twin is already warming my shoulders and living up to the legacy you established.

I have been wearing Carhartt for years, but mostly their heavier work pants and jackets. I still own my first jacket I bought almost 15 years ago. So, I needed a hoodie for everyday carry and use that could be worn in moderate weather but not be bulky. I decided to to go with Carhartt as I couldn't find what I wanted in other brands. This fit the bill. Warm enough for cold nights and brisk mornings while still being light and breathable enough for warm afternoons and not have to take it off. Very comfortable with a "fleece like" inside and heavy duty zipper. Seriously, the hoodie will biodegrade long before the zipper even thinks about breaking.

So I am 5"9, 200lbs approximately. I got a medium and it fits well everywhere for the most part. It's not too tight and it seems sturdy and warm. The arms are really long though and I had to flip the cuffs up or else my hands were completely hidden. The length is good, it comes down over my butt and the hood covers my toque. It's a touch taught across my bottom. I'm a woman and that's where my weight is (hips and buns). A small would be too small and a large would be ridiculous. Maybe I'll try the woman's cut. I just alwaya find the "girl" version of anything to be poorer quality/worse fit. Let's hope I am wrong

Carhart is idiosyncratic with sizing. I learned a while ago that what every other manufacturer considers an "extra-large" Carhart calls "large". As I'm getting older and less trim, I find their sizing strangely comforting but you need to be aware of this or you'll be disappointed with the fit. Everything I have bought from Carhart has been top quality (sturdy) clothing. This hoodie is no exception. The zipper is double stitched and made of heavy brass. As an unexpected bonus the zipper features an unusually large pull which is easy to grab even through heavy gloves.

Though not 100% cotton as I would like it, this hoodie is both very comfortable and very durable. From the pics it looks as if its a navy blue but it is a more matte, flat blue but still dark that it looks professional. The hood portion is excellent, it properly shields eyes and head from sun or rain and it is deep enough so when a strong wind blows it doesn't just fall of your head. When wearing under other jackets it fits quite nicely. It doesn't ball or ride up, just hangs flat making it easy to layer. This garment is nearly perfect.

The green Carhartt hooded sweatshirt is fantastic! The fit is great, the color (moss) is nice, and the QUALITY is unsurpassed! I have grown tired of cheap sweatshirts that I bought just for that reason...they were cheap. The fit was never right and the quality was cheap. The cheap sweatshirts fell apart here or there due to shoddy construction. This Carhartt sweatshirt defies all the standards with it's thick material, great construction, beefy zipper and GREAT looks! You will not be disappointed and it is worth every penny!

First off, this sweater is big. I usually wear 2XL if not 3XL and XL fit perfectly.Second, this thing is so comfortable. Some people are saying it is not medium weight, but I think it is spot on. It's thick enough to wear most of the time, but not too thick to make me constantly sweat.Lastly, the zipper is tough looking. Probably the only downside, if you could call it one, the zipper sticks a bit. This makes it a little difficult to zip up, but I'll suck it up for the expected durability. This is a definite buy!

I bought this as a gift for my husband. He loves it. It’s warm but not too heavy. It’s a cotton poly blend so it can have some static. It fits well under a heavier jacket. He has longer arms and torso than the average “medium” so he was happy about the fit but an average sized person may find the sweatshirt a little big/long. He would prefer if the hood was a little bit bigger, but overall he is happy with it hoodie and wears it all the time. The quality is very nice; durable stitching and heavy zipper.

I like wearing hoodie jackets. I normally order a size up because I like my hoodies to fit a little bit sloppy. The material of the Carhart hoodies are a lot thicker than others. The zippers are much more heavy-duty than a standard hoodie. Overall the construction of this hoodie exceeds other hoodies that I’ve owned in the past purchased at big box stores. Washing it did not shrink it but I did not use a dryer. If you’re looking for a well-made hoodie that’s going to last I would recommend this product.

It's your typical Carhartt piece of clothing. Durable, warm, comfortable, and good looking. Perfect to throw on as you're walking out the door. The zipper never gets stuck and seems like it will never give me problems. I'm 5'8'' and 165lbs...the medium is a perfect fit for me and anyone around the same size. It's exactly what I wanted and expected from a quality brand like Carhartt.I recommend this and any/every other Carhartt product out there. Simply the best quality for the money spent.

Carhartt is still a reliable brandI bought a medium and it fits well. It's just long enough that the shirt tail doesn't come up over my belt when I raise my hands. The sleeves are long enough to cover my hands if I pull them down, but they stay in place around my wrist when I don't.Zipper is very sturdy.Very comfortableWarmer than any other hoodie of it's kind, great for fall temperatures.Good is quite large, not like other brands that don't even cover your entire head.

I thought carhartt was made in America. I ordered a carhartt hoodie for myself and my hubby. They are both well made but his was made in Honduras and I think mine was made in Taiwan or Vietnam. Very very warm, thick, with good zippers, and the pockets keep stuff in, I don't have things falling out of my pockets all the time like my last hoodie. All in all the hoodies are good quality, but again, I was disappointed they weren't made in the US:(

I bought this one over the more expensive one that's sold here on Amazon. The price difference is in the percentage of cotton. I prefer 50/50 blend so it doesn't shrink and imo is more durable for work and washing.I wear XXL shirts and I bought the XL zip up because other reviews said it runs large. That was the right call. Order the size smaller than your t shirt size and you should be fine. The color is also a nice grey. I would buy again.
