I bought this sweatshirt for my wife who really likes the one I bought last year and that one fits her well. This new one is as close to the original Carhartt I bought, but it is clearly not the same. It is smaller and is tight around her so I traded her, taking the new one myself. She got the better deal. The new one has a couple features which I find irritating here on the farm. The first is the flaps over the pockets. If I take off gloves to do some detailed job, I can't just put them in the pockets; first I have to bypass the flap. The second an most irritating "improvement" is that the right pocket has a small inner pocket to hold a cell phone. Since it is in the center of the larger pocket opening,

This jacket has been a staple item from Carhartt for many years. It holds up well to wear and tear and is reasonably warm for the bulk. It took me two years just to get a hole in my last one. It ended up being junked because it was sprayed with diesel fuel. The zippers hold up and so do the pockets.That brings me to the problem with the new design. They added flaps on each front pocket to help hold items inside which takes getting used to. On the right side they added a smaller pocket inside the big pocket. The people responsible for that should be fired. It doesn’t hold anything without the items falling out. Each time you put something in the bigger pocket you have to feel around to make sure it’s the correct pocket.

If you've ever owned Carhartt gear you know they run a bit on the large side. Maybe .5-1 size larger on most items with some exceptions. This however is not an exception. I'm 235lbs 5'6 normally wear a XXL. Ordered through Amazon wardrobe for both xl and xxl. Ended up keeping the xl because it feels right and not too bulky.Already took it out to the Grand Canyon over the weekend where the temp was mid 40s. It handled fine, even got a tiny bit hot at times after walking from point to point(I normally run hot).Only drawback I see on this zip up, is that the drawstrings for the hoodie have the ends covered in the clear plastic straw looking things that eventually fall off on my other work jackets and hoodies.

I am 6 foot and 1 inches tall, about 180 pounds, and I have a fairly muscular build with broad shoulders. I ordered a size large and it had perfect proportions. The sleeves were nice and long, but not too long. Also, the length is great, you can bend down and the sweatshirt will always cover your back, it's great to wear shirtless because it is so comfortable. I got the peat color, and I have no regrets. This is a good sweatshirt to wear if you want to stay warm but you don't want to dirty up another jacket. I highly recommend it, goes great wearing jeans and a pair of rugged leather boots. Also, it is very easy to take off when you are sitting in a chair,

Let me start by saying I’ve tried a lot of “cheaper” hoodies and they were decently warm, but this Carhartt hoodie is by far the warmest I’ve had, even with the sleeves not having the Sherpa wool in them they are still extremely warm and easy to get your arms in and out. I’m 5’10” 190lbs and it fits me great, plus is definitely a quality hoodie and you can tell when u pick it up and or have it on. If I had a choice to buy this again over a “cheaper version of a hoodie” I’d definitely buy this one again!! Plus you get what u pay for, its very warm for a hoodie!

I work as a nurse in the ER and was looking for a hoodie that would keep me warm but also allow full range of motion for my arms and upper body and wouldn't get dirty with everything I come across. This hoodie fit all of these. I am able to wear it in and out of work without having to worry about it getting wet and water logged while keeping me warm and dry. My only complaint is that it is a little bulky, when I am sitting down it seems to ride up and the top of the zipper is halfway up my nose, but this is something I can deal with.

this is a little larger than I would normally expect but it is "relaxed fit". Seems well made, but I didn't wear it in the rain or wind so far.2 comments -1) there are no zipped pockets (which I forgot to check and would have been handy). There is an small inside pocket - could maybe fit a phone in but not a wallet really.2) The main zip seems very stiff. I hope it loosens up because it really lets the overall ease of use down.

Needed a new therml sweatshirt. This is such a good product that many of my colleagues have purchased and are quite pleased. The Rain Defender works during snow plowing in a blizzard. 5 hours exposed during falling snow, the inside of the jacket remained dry.. If you wear an XL jacket order the Large and you still have plenty of room. Only downfall is 1 pocket has an internal pocket, not a big deal. Sherpa lining is great.

I still hold true to my opinion that carhartt makes the best sweatshirts hands down! Warm, doesn’t shrink after washing, comfortable, fits great! I have zero complaints, I normally wear a medium in everything but I always buy a large for sweatshirts and it’s perfect! The rain defender part is awesome too! Definitely does a good job repelling rain to an extent, it’s not designed to withstand a heavy downpour.

I have been shopping for a warm rain proof quality jacket for a while. When I found the Carhartt it fit the bill, but was a little pricey. After looking more I took the plunge and purchased it. So glad I did. The quality of the jacket is outstanding! The fix is perfect and the warmth and water resistant is great. Another awesome Amazon value. No regrets, highly recommend.

My husband bought this jacket in a store a while back and he absolutely loved it. As the years past, the jacket has some wear and tear on it and he needed a new one and we bought the same one back. Even though it is a lighter weight jacket, it is WARM. It'll be perfect for the chillier days that are coming and even into winter on the milder days. He is going to love it!

Received one as a gift, liked it so much I had one sent to my son who first sent it to me. Then my son sent one to his Mom, we are in total agreement that they are a perfect fit, comfy, warm, and the water resistant feature is the best. The mens sizes are true, the womens run small. I normally wear a medium, and received a large, a medium would be way too tight!

This thing is a heavy duty hoodie.Super warm and defintily worth the money.I'm from Texas and needed something warm for a trip to Chicago in winter time and this hoodie did the trick. I thought I would need another jacket over it but never once took the jacket out of my suitcase.It's heavy for a hoodie but we'll worth the extra weight too keep warm.

The item i recieved wasnt exactly as pictured or described, it looks very similar but not fleece lined and an extra front pocket at the chest area. Im still happy with the item but couldnt find a way to complain without sending it back, and i didnt want to. It is a very good quality jacket but slightly large fitting.

The sizes do run a bit big. I’m 5’9 and 220 lbs and the 2xl was very baggy on me. I normally wear a 2xl in other brands. The hoodie looks and feels nice but the sleeves are a little bit too short for me. But I do like my sleeves a little too long so I can pull them down and hide my hands in them. Great hoodie
