Bought this to replace the Canon non-L series version which I did not get on with - the electronic "manual" focusing drove me mad!This is so much nicer to use, controls are smooth & nicely weighted and auto focusing is quick and accurate, Being a metal bodied lens it is quite heavy but I am willing to put up with that.

It performs very well, however it never seems like quite enough zoom. May have been worth me going for the 100-400mm, however, I can't fault this lens for much more than that. The image is sharp and it's extremely versatile.
