Got it in winter but already have great shots of birds in the garden and now will venture out to try it out in the country. I think this is a better lens than 100-400 I was comparing with, so I bought 2x Extender if needed a longer range, although costs more I think this is the lens for me to try out in wild life abroad. Quality is the best you can get from Canon!

even with the 1.4xii converter.This is a beautiful lens great on both my cropped and full frame cameras.Quick to focus and accurate and quite light to carry. If you don't need the f2.8 aperture this lens is perfectHighly recommended

One of the most useful lenses I have used, normally I would have to keep changing lenses at functions, this lens takes on most of the work! favorite lens at this time. as for the price, if you want quality you have to pay for it.

I bought this about a month ago mainly used it in garden but I have noticed a sharpness in my photographs. Have used it with the mark iii x 2 extender and have taken a photograph of moon outstanding clarity

I've only had this lens for a few weeks, but I did get to use the earlier model this lens is even better, looking forward to using it even more

Bought it to upgrade similar non-Canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens and very happy I did as the Canon lens gives much better and sharper photos

nice weight, good performance works exceptionally well even when used in hand with out tripod or monopod

the quality of the lens is readily evident and the weight not as much as you'd think
