This is a quaint little resource management game (quite similar--though with obviously better graphics--than the likes of Theme Park/Hospital, back in the day!)The gameplay is simple and fun, yet deep enough so you don't get bored of it (so long as you're not expecting something with the realism and depth of something like Sim City). You get to choose between tents, caravans and holiday chalets for your campers (so no campervans or motorhomes). Once you have decided where these are going to go, you need to make sure they're supplied with water and in walking distance of some entertainment (kids playgrounds/BBQ areas etc.) and amenities (toilet and shower blocks) etc.as well as some food kiosks and picnic areas. You can also hire cleaners and gardeners, bring up various basic statistical screens, raise and lower the camping prices etc. and press a button to highlight "green" areas (the greener the area, the better that places ambience rating--improved through planting trees and what not--and the more campers will enjoy theirselves (and the more money you'll make :)).As I say, there is just about enough detail to keep you immersed in it.I did find it was a little sluggish to begin with (which was surprising given it is fairly simple and I do have a reasonably powerful PC), but changed the mouse and display settings and it became much snappier. It is also slightly unforgiving in that if you don't everything really well organised, the money trickles slowly in! It is worth giving it some thought and reading the instructions (just a short PDF) properly, or you could be sat for hours (with little to do) waiting for your balance to reach the target.Other than that, if you like camping (as I do) or Theme Park style games, you should enjoy this. It's not something you'll become deeply addicted to, but something you'll put on once in a while (especially since you can play it without the CD).Some suggestions for the next edition:More realistic buildings (being able to create different sized buildings and be able to place several areas--reception, toilets, washing up area etc.--within one bigger building).More areas (campsite shop/reception, laundry area, waste disposal, information board etc.)Realistic taps.No kiosks! (Never seen one on a camps-site) maybe a chip van once a week!Dog walking area (+bins for muck!)Ball game area/football pitch etc.Ability to also employ warden and camp assistants (and be able to send them to control noisy campers/ rats/anthills and bees nests etc.!)Electric and none electric pitches for caravans (instead of placing the caravans yourself--which isn't realistic).Additional camping units: motorhomes, campervans, "glamping" units and statics.More scenery (rock formations, streams etc.)Faster speed on maximum setting.

Will wonders never cease?!! This is the second title from Developers, Excalibur Publishing, that seems to be OK. Excalibur games, up until now, have always been laugh-out-loud-and-point-at-the-screen dire, but this is the second title of their's I've played now which seems to be half decent.I say half decent, but there are some caveats. This game is not going to keep and adult entertained for instance - but if you have a young child (and particularly if you have ever taken them on holiday to Butlins or Centre Parks etc.) it's perfect. You're basically the manager of a campsite which you have to build up as a business. You start off with tents but eventually be able to buy caravans and chalets for your guest. You'll have to hire staff such as cleaners and gardeners and, all in all, it's just right for children around the the ages of 5-10.I think think Excalibur's dedication may have paid off and they've maybe found their niche. They should stop with the rubbish games like Streetw Sweeper Simulator and Tow Truck simulator 3 and dedicate their time to these sort of strategy based games aimed squarely at kids. It's potentially and new area of gaming and one they seem to do quite well.

Obviously I expect you to be aware of what kind of games you like to play. If you're not interested in playing first-person shooters and getting owned by twitch-triggered teens and prefer a more laid-back style of game, you should consider this. There is no edge-of-seat excitement, there is only a campsite and you running it. Campaign mode puts you in each different country in turn with a set of objectives to meet, whereas free mode gives you the choice of where to play and endless time to do so.You get to micro-manage practically everything from the price of the coffee to when there are barbeque events in your campsite. Trying to keep everyone happy is no easy feat, for example, everyone gets up in the morning and runs to the toilet, so they all start the day complaining about how dirty the toilets are! Just like real life, there really is no pleasing some people.Overall, simple to get into and straightforward to play. An excellent way to pass a few hours here or there.

Ever wanted to run your own camp site? Well I'm sure there must be a few out there who does and this game let's them manage one to their hearts content without actually having to spend any real money. These are budget sim games but I think they have a certain charm to them in a 'game developers against all odds produce a half-decent product concerning an off the wall activity' sort of way and this is one of the more unusual and, actually because of that, interesting ones. Essentially you have tents, chalets and caravans on a site and you have to make money from them. Hardly saving the planet from giant insect invasion or blowing up half the cosmos but as I said, the subject matter, the reasonable enough graphics and the ease of use- you can dive straight in and play this, no problem- make these charming but slightly bonkers games. Worth a try :)

a budget priced game so you get a fair buget game, its easy to install , a few operating instructions would have been nice but you quickly pick it up, its entertaining in a dip in and out game way, i quite liked it but possibly not for the serious gamer, kids would like it to

this one`s more for the younger members of the family. but still fun for you parents.graphics ok for a small budget company and challenges get harder so some thinking about placement of camping items.

Easy to use; would have been 5* if clearer instructions, but managed to work round problems. Good fun to play.
