I have a shed load of smellies locked away in the cupboard underneath the sink in the bathroom. Most of them given to me by my sister who, years ago worked in the perfume department of a major store.I just can't bring myself to throw out a present, though I have a sneaky suspicion that if I used and sprayed some of those a little too liberally I might come out in a rash. They have a sell by date don't they? The pile has been reducing over time as I give them away as presents, I like to consider myself eco-friendly and recycling is the best policy.I don't use aftershaves or smellies on a daily basis, only if I go out or for occasions,so it takes me ages to get through a bottle and my favourites are always those that are understated.Since I haven't had anything new for years, not even my wife buys me these things and the children are too young to afford them (they usually buy me Tangfantastics and then promptly eat them and tell me how good they are) I thought I'd give this a try.The packaging and design of the product is modern and 'Burberry', it is distinctive. However I do get a little bit suspicious of brands not associated with fragrances or celebrity fragrances, they tend to be hasty concoctions.I do prefer subtle and understated, but this is not. I like something that mellows and settles quickly, leaving just a hint but this sticks around quite strongly. I like something which isn't too feminine, this ticks the box. I like something that doesn't prompt my wife to say 'what's that smell'. Which she did, then eyed me up suspiciously as if to say 'are you having an affair?', which I am not.I think it was the fact that I was wearing it and not the smell that prompted the reaction. She did describe the smell as pleasant enough but a little strong.I would recommend try before you buy, fragrances are a very personal purchase, what works for one person isn't right for another. So this one isn't really for me, but that's a personal preference.I think the smell is more modern than classic Eau Savage my favourite, I'd go as far as saying it is a little brash. Designed more for the 18-30's demographic. However my nephew is back from University for the weekend, he tried it and liked it and thought it was good. It suited him a loud, gobby, know it all but can't boil an egg.For that reason alone it deserves 4 stars. He can have it for Christmas.

When I saw this Burberry Brit for Men Eau de Toilette I was delighted, as I thought it would be great for my husband to try.On arrival we were both very impressed with the stylish sturdy box that the bottle was packed in. It was even in a little black box type casing within the trademark tartan box. The bottle too is really smart and attractive, again with signature Burberry style tartan. Having a tartan matching top to the bottle is so much nicer than those that come in a plain colour. The bottle top has a nice click on fit which will not come loose when packed to take away with you.The fragrance is a clean fresh one with some warm undertones. All in all, a fragrance that I feel would be suitable for all male age groups, which makes it a very universal gift. The price for the brand makes it affordable as a gift, or as a purchase for yourself. The only reason I have taken off 1 star is because the fragrance did not have particularly long lasting powers, either on my husband or myself (I tried just to test on different skin). Of course it does depend on the individual as to how long a fragrance lasts and I often think that the older you get, the more the lasting powers of perfumes and aftershaves etc change because of your own personal body chemistry.I know that an Eau de Toilette is a less concentrated fragrance and only has a fragrance content of up to 15%. Perhaps it is because there are fewer essential oils and a greater percentage of water in the make up of an Eau de Toilette which results in a less long lasting effect. "Burberry Brit" is a very nice fragrance though despite this.UPDATE 17/12/14 - I asked our neighbour, who is in his early 30s, to try this Eau de Toilette. Matt liked the fragrance but found that it did not last at all. He said it wore off very quickly.

I am not really a fragrance man, no real reason, I have just never really had the time first thing in the morning to do anything else other than to bathe, shave, brush my teeth and eat breakfast before my commute; I rely on the smell of shower gel and or deodorant to keep me "fresh" through the day. That is until I decided that my aging skin etc needed more tender care. :-)First up I started to use a moisturiser and even cleansing grains to ensure that I exfoliate a couple of times a week. I would not say that I have become obsessed, particularly as using the products on an aged faced like mine render most of the products to being akin to painting the Forth Bridge, but I do enjoy spending a few minutes each day trying to look after my skin a bit more. What I needed to complete the process was a nice fragrance and along came this product. It is not commonly used yet and so I was pleased to try out something which is unusual and which has a pleasant scent. I cannot say that I can detect all of the advertised individual elements of scent, for me it just smells nice. I did find the scent somewhat intense for me initially but it does seem to calm down after about 30 seconds and is not noticeable fairly quickly. What I have noticed is that a number of the women at work have noticed that someone has a nice perfume and after years of me working with them, it has come as a pleasant surprise for them as well as me. One asked me if I was having an affair last week! Thankfully no, and my fab wife also likes the smell of this fragrance and suggested to me that it suits me, so I think that I have found a fragrance which suits me.Nothing like a bit of narcissism :-)

I normally use Issey Miyake or Opium as my preferred after shave or Eau de Toilette which I've used for years. The packing was the first thing that caught my eye, typically Burberry, I wasn't aware they made Eau de Toilette and thought good brand, got to be a good safe bet.The presentation is very nice, the glass is checked just like the outer box, would make a nice gift. The bottle has the spray attachment for dispensing the smelly.Well I have to say, "I really do like this", I can't say it smells of ginger with Heart notes of cedar wood, nutmeg are softened with wild rose, cause I don't know what there meant to smell like, what I can say is it smells fresh, a nice clean smell, very pleasing to the nose,my wife loves it, as do I, a smell that would work in the office, the shop floor etc or out dining or clubbing. The great thing is I put some on 8 hours ago and I can still smell it, not pungent just that little bit of background smell, nothing I have used in the passed has lasted that length of time.Very nice sent, I'm really pleased with it, only wish I had the bigger bottle.

This is a really gorgeous scent that is great on a man, but having had a spritz myself works as a rich oriental scent on a woman too. I was hesitant regarding the brand, but am pleasantly surprised. The first hit of this oriental gourmand scent is of coconut and cardamon drying to release cedar wood and juniper. It is evocative of a exotic coconut spiced rice pudding with powdery sweet creaminess from tonka bean but masculine enough from the spices and woods. On a personal note the sweetness is sadly less perceptible on my skin.A lovely young scent that moves away from the herbal florals to be a fresh offering that packs a punch and despite its price bracket and being an eau de toilette has staying power,I was still able to smell this on my wrist the next morning.Surprised and impressed.

very pleasant aroma and one that doesn’t lose it’s fragrance for many hours, I’d say this lasted a good ten hours before I noticed it had faded. I’m not the kinda guy that’d wear after shave daily but I found it very pleasant and although I have no comparisons it was up there with my favourites such as Issy Miyake Issy Pour Homme and Hugo Boss XY.My only slight issue is that when I went for more than five sprays in one hit it seemed to give me a slightly tight chest, I have very mild asthma and there was nothing else that day I would have thought to have triggered a tight chest. Just worth considering.Lovely packaged bottle and great fragrance. Highly recommended.

I love this fragrance for men. It has a great warm smell, just right for during the winter and makes me think of cosy, fireside cuddles! It isn't too sweet a smell (though my sister-in-law said she wouldn't mind pinching some of her husbands!) or too heavy, so can be worn as an everyday cologne. I like the packaging too, just nicely masculine with no fuss, in the Burberry check. A great stocking filler for this time of year!

Very expensive but worth the money. A very professional smell with a hint of sexy. The perfume lasts surprisingly long, even with just one spray. Will definitely be buying this item again. Not so important: I bought it in store in Germany, it was a bottle twice the size and came with a shower gel and I paid the equivalent of 40-50£... Might be cheaper to import it and pay tax even though it's made in England.

Surprisingly good. I had come to associate all things Burberry with fake tasteless tack. This little bottle had reminded of why they were so sought after to begin with. The scent is quite subtle and long lasting. Masculine, with a slight floral under tone. Good for a quick spritz half way through the day.

I don't find it easy to describe a perfume in words but here goes, Burberry Brit is s fresh new fragrance. Its not to sweet and flowery like Jean Paul Gaultier and not too smoky or woody like Fahrenheit. It's manly and smells very nice. The scent lingers for a long time. Will be using regularly!

Many think this is a mens fragrance - but I actaully think this could be worn by women too. It's fruity, and you do get that hit of cedar often used in mens fragrances, but its also milky, spicy with coconut and cardomon. It's a young summery unisex oriental - that lasts and lasts.

It's definitely a sexy scent, very different of anything else, the bottle is beautiful, awesome smell, amazing, very addicted perfume. I am impressed and if you want also to impress everyone around you with your distinct smell, then this is all you need.

My mate smells bad, however having brought this for him for his birthday he now smells very nice.Genuine product, no doubt about that, have had Brit fragrance for year myself. This was cheaper than any other retailer (inc. Burberry), very happy with it.

Bought this for my son as one of his Christmas presents. It is a favourite of his, a fragrance you never get tired of anytime. This is his third bottle in as many years. I love a spray of it too !
