I really wanted to enjoy this game, late war ww2 is one of my favourite settings, allowing you to play with really cool war machines.Although the game play is basically solid, it is unfortunately ruined by a punishingly hard level of play, even on the easy setting. Half your attacking force can be destroyed by artillery or tanks which you can't even see. Levels have to played over and over many times to even have a hope of getting through them. And no matter how carefully you arrange your forces they can be destroyed by unending, unseen enemy forces. Can't locate one small enemy artillery piece? Say goodbye to all those lovely Panthers and Tigers as they blunder around the map being picked off.Only play if you want a real challenge.About as much fun as pulling teeth.

Excellent graphics and really meaty tanks to play with. Good music and radio chatter. Ruined by gameplay. Your tanks may fire at the enemy or they may not. Enemy tanks with inferior gun power will penetrate your frontal armour. You will lose units to enemy you cannot see. Your units will not stay even if ordered but will rush forward to instant death. Your tanks will offer their flanks to the enemy. You cannot use maneouvre tactics as the playing area is simply tiny, in flanking an enemy you will be destroyed by unseen others. Too much bad play, life is too short to bother with this, find something more accurate to play. What a shame, could have been great.

if you dont buy the original, but the "gold edition" you have a good chance of completing a game or two.its good to play - but it crashes, freezes and wobbles all over the place. and you can rarely get anywhere with it.if it wasnt for the fact its a good roman army sim I wouldnt rate it.pot luck on how it goes - make sure you get it cheap just in case!

Enjoyed the game very much. Still don't like the colours used for the different forces, ie blue-allied, red-enemy, etc takes away the realism when a blue tank suddenly appear in the middle of battle, just coloured bars at the above the item would be just as good. Apart from that I found the game fun and taxing.
