I absolutely adore pens for colouring and have tried several different brands now with varying degrees of success. I tend to use gel oens as I find the colours are much brighter but this comes with the drawback of more rapid replacement. So felt pens are ideal for bigger colouring areas and I've several different makes.I jumped at the chance to review these as I like Bic pens generally and have used different ballpoint colours over time for small colouring areas.These did not disappoint me, the colours are bold, bright and vivid. I found the deep pink to be comparable to the same colour of gel pen which is the first time I have experienced that.I used the pens with a colouring magazine and in a more detailed Johanna Basford book.

This pack has twenty washable felt tip pens, with a fine tip and nicely packaged in a plastic container, with a lid that closes. As such, these are ideal for travelling – they are much easier to pack away than pens held in the usual cardboard or plastic wallets. However, the top of the box is a little difficult to get off and, along with the fact that the pens have quite a fine nib, probably make them better for slightly older children (approx 5+) rather than toddlers. They are certainly good for colouring more intricate pictures and adding detail.You get a good range of colours and the ink does not dry out if you leave off the tops. It says they will not dry out even after three months,

The BIC Kids Visa Colouring Pens are interesting because they look very similar to the kinds of cheap, disposable felt tips that I always used as a child, the ones that had nibs that disappeared when you pressed too hard and ink that dried out disappointingly quickly. The different, however, is that BIC seem to have redesigned the nibs to endure hard pressing and to last better without a lid on. So, a definite improvement on the past!Despite the good quality of these pens, I have to say that I'd still be more likely to buy Crayola Supertips for my kids, which have a fatter brushstroke (surely there can be nothing more frustrating for kids than trying to colour in large areas in felt tip with a tiny nib)

These are reasonably priced for a set of 20 felt tips that are not permanent. Cheaper pens are unlikely to wash out of clothes easily, whereas these do. I note that they state "most clothes", but that's still better than "no clothes". The container is a win too. My children are arty, with no shortage of colouring implements, the pens that ship in long/flat cases are almost immediately separated, never to be repacked. These pens have stayed in the tub - a miracle in itself.In terms of use, the inks are bright, and the chisel tips allow for fine line drawing as well as block colouring with the wide edge. This is a nice little pot of pens, in a semicircular shape that makes it compact and easy to store. The lid is easily removed and then clicks back into place, so should encourage children to pack away their pens rather than leaving them to dry out without their tops on.You get twenty felt tips with a good selection of colours including various hues of green, blue and red/pink which are always popular, although another shade of brown would be useful as browns are always quick to run out too. The nibs are fine and are therefore excellent for writing or for doing detail work when colouring in, though obviously not suited for colouring large areas.

Forget the kids, I used these myself with an adult colouring book! They were excellent for the job, their fine tips enabling me to colour in very small sections. There was also a good variety of colours.The packet says that (apart from the black one) they will last up to 3 months with their tops off before drying out & will wash out of clothes.The pot they came in is ideal for keeping them together too. The tops can be stuck into the top of the pens so they are not so easily lost but I found that they had to be pressed in quite hard to do this, and wondered if small children would struggle to do so.

I bought these as a gift for my almost 2 year old son because he didn't seem to like using crayons but he always loved using ball point pens, I believe this is because the colours aren't as bright when using crayons. I can say that the felt tips are a success, he seems to love using them and has created a few masterpieces already.When the felt tips have ended up on clothing and skin it has been easy enough to wash off and so far I have been luck enough for it not to end up on the walls, carpet or sofa so I don't know how easy it would be to clean them. The felt tips themselves are thin and have a fine point so they are easy for my son to grip and use. There is a nice variety in the colours and each one really stands out on the page.

The brand ‘BIC’ is well respected for writing and colouring pens, and this ‘Kids Colouring Case of 20’ felt-tips is no exception. All colours are vividly bright with the14.5 cm long pens having individual caps and neatly stored in a plastic holder 8.0 x 15.0 x 3.5 cms complete with lid.The tips are fine with a width about 1mm and are suitable for line drawing or colouring. They are particularly resistant to damage via hard pressing by children; well above the average quality for distorting tips, and with solvent based colours and susceptibility to evaporating. With this BIC product the ink is water-based and therefore readily washable, and it does not dry out (up to 3 months claimed)

I received these items for testing and impartial review.Great selection of colouring-in felt tipped pens designed specifically for young ones and considered safe for those over the age of three years. They each have fine, but hard, points, are kind in the hand and secure with a colour matching lid. They offer a smooth and controlled ink flow when in use. Nice that the inks are water based and easily removable in the case of accident. I also like the well made container designed to keep them together after use. Kids will get a lot of pleasure using them and, knowing Bic products, I expect them to be durable, even in young hands. Adults might enjoy them too.

It's impossible not to love these colouring pens. My younger granddaughter still love colour in and drawing and I keep them supplied with the books and pens. These were my first Bic brand colouring pens and we found them to be just as good as the Stablio and Steadtler ones I usually buy.I gave up on cheap generic pens because in the end they don't last long and just create a mess.These felt tips have water based inks that will wash out and not stain clothes. They can stay usable for some time without the lids/caps .A common problem if you can't match the pen with it's cap for a day.I really like the brightness of the colours. Young kids don't want subtle they want bright.

BIC have of late been pushing out some really solid ranges particularly for kids. The Visa pack of colouring pens is no exception and is generally very good.A case of 20 pens the case is good quality and will make storing and transporting them easy, as well as being a handy caddy for new pens in the future.A fine tip the colour is vibrant yet water based so should wash out easily from clothes and off hands/faces etcThe tips are strong and handle a bit of abuse but they are not indestructible, and they are rated to last for 3 months with the cap off before drying out which is really good.This is a fantastic set and one that should give a lot of enjoyment.

There are twenty fine tip pens in this pack. They are attractively presented in a lovely little storage pot with a lid to keep them secure. I think these are more suitable for the older grandchildren as they have a very fine nib and are more suitable for colouring with fine detail than basic use, my oldest has really enjoyed testing all the colours. Me left the top off a few overnight and true enough they were as good as new this morning.I am not sure about the claim that they will not dry out for three months with the top off but they are really good quality pens as you would expect from BIC and the packaging is great. Recommend for older children.

This is a rather good, 20-colour set of washable felt tips made by Bic. They're supplied in a hard, durable plastic case that's curiously reminiscent of a sun cream bottle. The pens are slim to hold and have narrow fibre tips, so permit a nicely detailed level of colouring. It's claimed that these last up to 3 months uncapped without the pens drying out - I've tried leaving the lids off two of the pens for a couple of days. I tested the pale, peachy pink - the palest shade in the case - and the bright magenta. Neither colour seemed noticeably affected by being left open, and both pens still worked well.

The pink doesn't wash out very easily, so be careful that a little chiddler doesn't draw with pink on your nice cream carpets.I am using these as washable pens for sewing rather than buying sewing marking pens (as they're about £3 each!). I tested every colour on white cotton, ironed it with a hot iron, left it 24 hrs then ran it under the cold tap. The pink didn't come out. I washed it at 40 degrees with detergent and still did not come out. I still gave 4 stars though as the other 11 colours are fine and has saved me loads compared to sewing marking pens.

These pens are perfect for little people who like to colour but get as much on themselves and their clothes as they do on the paper. The ink washes off in the bath and washes out of coloured fabrics well. I haven't tried washing the ink out of white fabric yet as my instinct is to always dress my 2.5 year old in mid and darker colours anyway.The tips also seem pretty good. They don't crush or get pushed in, which is great news because a heavy-handed toddler has no concept of being gentle, no matter how many times I try to explain it to him.5 stars.
