If simple writing biros are your ‘thing’, then look no further than these BIC cristal, disposable pens. With a long history in the manufacture of pens, BIC were the go-to writing implements at school when the fountain pen was phased out in the early 1980s. However, BIC have considerably improved their ink-writing performance since then: no blotting or splodging, no ink-leaking, the smooth application of BIC to paper with a fine but not scratchy nib and the ability to inscribe fast without the need for ink to dry. Please do not leave the removable lids lying around with very young children and pets as they are easily chewed and swallowed; the lids are designed to fit at the bottom of the pen when in use. These ubiquitous pens have diversified from the transparent barrels with standard blue and black inks to white-barrelled pens with pink, green, purple and light blue inks – all appropriately colour-coded by the colour of their caps and the bottom of the pens themselves. These are ideal for inscribing greeting cards or just to have colour stand out on a piece of A4 paper: in ‘word processing-speak’, your ‘bold’ print. They are also always useful to have around the house and in the office. My only quibble with the BIC biro is the width of the pen itself. It has always been rather thin and there is nowhere especially comfortable on the barrel with which to hold and use the pen. I have not seen any RRP for this product just yet, but do not expect to pay a fortune for what is, essentially, a very basic, inexpensive but most practical biro.

I received a birthday card from a friend just recently and I blurted out "Hey! That's the green ink from the new Bic biro!"This pack contains four unusual colour inks - pale green, pink, purple and pale blue. None of these would be appropriate if you are signing a contract or a major international treaty, but if you're writing a letter to a friend or an entry in your diary you'll do just fine.I say "just fine" but actually the quality of ink flow from my pale green pen isn't great. Every word seems to have a blotch of ink that bobbles there on the paper, takes a little longer to dry and tends to cause smudges if you brush your hand immediately over your writing. This problem doesn't afflict the other three pens,so maybe I've just got a dud.In terms of usefulness, the opaque white barrel and lid of these pens mean that you have to remove the refill from the barrel if you want to find out how much ink you have left. But in reality how many biros have you ever used up? They tend to give up the ghost when there is clearly visible ink still in there. Why have I marked this product down by one star? It's the use of unnecessary single use plastic in the packaging. You have a cardboard back to the package but a big transparent plastic sheet of plastic - twice as big as it needs to be - and it shouldn't be there at all. In an age where we are filling the oceans with plastic these pens should be sold in a 100% cardboard package.

These Bic 'Cristal Up' Ballpoint Pens have a medium (1.2 mm) tip and are brilliant to write with. The pens come sealed on a card. The Packet Contains:• 4 BIC medium ballpoint pens in blue, black, green and red.Four pens with bright white coloured acrylic barrels. These Bic Cristal Pens have white lids. The body of the pens is hexagonal in shape which allows for a more comfortable writing position and a better grip. Each lid has a colourful (blue, black, red or green) integrated pocket clip as well as a hole at the tip of the lid to help prevent suffocation if a young child should swallow it … which is I think a wonderful idea.I have been using various Bic Cristal pens since the 1960s and although a there have been a few changes over the years, the quality has remained the same ... a good reliable everyday pen.Bic Cristal Up Ballpoint Pens write extremely smoothly without a hint of dragging on the paper. The colours are bright, the lines are crisp and the all of the colours look good on white paper. Also from experience these pens last a lot longer (ink wise) than many others on the market. In summing up … reasonably priced pens that write well, look good and which are perfect for school, college, work and home use.

Sometimes coloured ballpens are unimpressive with each colour being a bit dull and indistinct but these are really good. Each colour comes out nicely saturated and with each one clear and distinct from the others, you'll actually see which pen drew what. The pens themselves are very lightweight and disposable feeling but comfortable enough to work with. Each cap has a colour flash to indicate the ink colour but the cowl around the pen nib has that too - so you'll be able to match cap to pen afterwards and not get your shades mixed up. The caps all have a hole in the top so it seems they aren't needed to keep the pen from drying out but more for protecting your shirt pocket or backpack. They write smoothly and easily, very low friction, with no blobby bits (technical term) and the line they produce is a reasonable thickness. Normally I'd choose something finer for handwriting but these are fun pens meant for marking-up and sketching-out and they're perfect for that. Personally I'm not sure I'll make use of all these colours, so maybe a pack of four might have been enough, but it's nice to have the option. Younger users with schoolbooks and desk-tops to decorate will probably love them - they're a perfect pencil-case filler.

An update upon the original and classic Bic Crystal pens that were, and probably still are, the standard ballpoint used in many workplaces as well as by students of all ages as some may be supplied by schools; they were in my day! They are not retractable or gel pens and do not have a rubber comfort grip; the on-page description is a hash-up and only the brand-name is correct. The body and cap are mostly white (ivory?) with the pocket clip in a dark blue; the ink is also blue in this instance. The pens work to expectation and have a medium line (1.2mm) although some may prefer a finer tip and line, but its line-width is highly legible. The design follows the original concept but with a modern twist and duo-coloured cap.Understanding is that a variant with 'glitter' ink in various colours is also available in some countries. As with the original Crystal pens, the pocket clip is probably no less fragile than in the past which is why most users kept them in a drawer, case or desk tidy rather than in a pocket as they often broke. They provide good value and there is a set of four in the one colour. They are basic and Bic offer more 'luxurious' pens in both gel and ballpoint versions.

You can change the colour both outside and inside the Bic biro design, but ultimately it’s still the same definitive and classic end-chewable, reliable, disposable bit of scratchy-nibbed plastic that it has been for many years. Nothing more, nothing less. As always, they’re thinner than most ballpoint pens, and feel a bit primitive, but they have good quality nibs which are the reason Bic stay on top of the market. The colours in this 4-pack work well. They’re bright and cheery, suitable for schoolteachers and teenagers who want to rebel by doing their homework in something other than black or blue, yet the colours are rich enough and professional-looking enough that you can still use them for office work without raising eyebrows.Only the green colour is a touch on the pale side, but only a little. The packaging is a touch excessive for 4 pens, which is disappointing. As I write this Amazon aren’t showing a price on this 4-pack of pens. If they’re very reasonably priced, and you know you’re just getting a bunch of regular fine-nibbed biros but in cheery colours, then go for it- but if this is being billed as a premium product, don’t be fooled.

I'll admit, I'm struggling to see these as anything but a gimmick.Allow me to explain. Normally you'll have a pen in say, red, blue, green, and even the green is fairly useless unless you're doing something specialist. If you're a teacher you have red, obviously. But what use are three shades of blue?Ah, but you might say, for colouring! Well, no. Because these are ball point pens, so they're useless for colouring. So that brings me full circle - what are these pens actually for? If the answer is "for fun" then fine, but I do still have a problem with that - instead of carrying round 8 different colour pens (there's 8 discrete colours here) you can just get one of those ten colour pens that have been out since *I* was at school, which is a fair while let me tell you. Those things work fine. You can even get scented ones now, although they mostly just smell of chemicals to me!So yeah, I'm scratching my head more than usual on this one. However maybe I've missed the point. They do work though, they're standard bic "biro" pens and they're quite reliable until someone steals them or wherever they go when they disappear.

The BIC ballpoint pen has been around since, well almost what feels like 'The Norman Conquest,' and what can besaid about a product that appears on many desks in offices, inside schoolbags and brief cases all over the country? The BIC pen you will not find in a glass case in department stores alongside its more celebrated other types. So,what is the attraction of the Bic pen? It has progressed this latest version being lighter, more streamlined and witha zippy blue flash on its cap.I tested them all in the pack and what they had in common was they all started to write first time and every time afterwards. So, isn't that the appeal of the BIC pen -unlike some - it delivers. It isn't pretentious it is simply put,a good ballpoint pen.Seemingly, gone are the days of shaking a ballpoint pen to encourage the ink to flow. This is a pack of 20 ballpoint pens which should see a a small family through for quite a while. They are perfect for theoffice-there are still things which require pen and paper! Competitively priced too -that has to be mentioned. So all in all, no fuss, no dramas, a simple functioning ballpoint pen.

You've got to love Bic and their affordable and convenient pens. Gone are the days of dipping feathers into ink having to contend with messy blots between you're carefully crafted words. With the ballpoint you can write to your heart's content with no smudges or smears. And Bic are the masters of the ballpoint pen. This is a pack of 4 Bic Cristal Up blue pens. They are a little different to the normal Bic pens in that the "barrel" is white and not see-through, and the lid is two colours (white and blue), not one. And maybe because of these stylistic changes they are charging a bit more (Amazon prices unavailable at time of writing review so only speculating),but these pens write well and last for a while (haven't scientifically tested exactly how long these pens will write for but if you have some time on your hands then please do and comment below so that I know). I don't know what the difference in write-quality between these and the normal Bic ballpoint pens is so you may want to stick with the standard if it is cheaper. But apart from that you cannot go wrong.

Comes in a simple cardboard box with a perforated flap that allows for it to be used as a dispenser. No excess packaging, so that's good. The pens feel a little thinner than the traditional clear BIC, and as a result not quite as comfortable to hold, but it's not enough of a difference to be a problem. They write well and smoothly, and so far I have had no problem with blobbing or smearing. They feel like BIC's usual quality to me. Being the cynic I am, I took one apart to see if the reason for the white body was to disguise the fact that there was less ink in them, but not as far as I can tell. The caps fit well and have the usual hole in the end to reduce choking hazard for children. At today's price of £6.99, it works out at 35p per pen, which seems like reasonable value to me for what you get. Each pen has a barcode label on it, presumably so they can be resold individually. If you take the label off, you're left with a sticky patch, so don't!All-in-all, good quality for the price. Happy to recommend.

Ive tried many pens in my lifetime and i always end up going back to trusty old fashioned blue and black bic biros. Cheap and brilliant. These are the same excellent quality i have come to expect from using bic biros for half a century yet they come in bright funky colours which are a little different to the norm. All pens come in crisp white barrels with corresponding ends and caps. The thing i like with bic biros is that the caps have holders on them to attach to pads or inside the spiral edges of notebooks so you cant lose them. However if you are like me, 99 times out of 100 they end up being chewed in your mouth. All pens write perfectly straight out of the packs, with no bleeding, flow is even and consistent with no fading or having to suck on the ends to get the ink to come down the barrel, another thing most people over 40 will remember fondly, ending up with the ink in your mouth if you sucked too hard lolAt time of review these were £2.30 which works out at 30p each which is a total bargain.

Bic crystal up ballpoint pens in 4 colours............This is a box of 20 pens, 5 of each colour.Lime.Turquoise.Pink.Purple.Pens.........These are your standard bic biro- given a bit of a twist, rather than the clear shaft these have an opaque white one and rather than your standard blue, black, green and red these are in more funky shades. Each pen has a coloured edge to the top, a coloured bung on the base and when the top is off a coloured nib to indicate the shade of ink, so it is easy to be sure which colour you are choosing.Quality.....These are your usual bic quality, strong and sturdy with ink that goes on for miles.Ink.....These are funky shades, great for adult colouring books/doodles and note taking- they are not for filling in forms or formal situations.Beware if you are buying these for school children as my children’s school will not allow these shades to be used in homework or class.

In this tear open resealable plastic pack you will find 15 pens with the following colours: Lime x 1, Pink x 1, ,Purple x 2, Turquoise x 2, Green x 2, Red x 2, Black x 2 and Blue x 3.The pen's barrel is hexagonal and quite comfortable to hold. Every pen worked straight away and the nib, pen top and cap are colour coded and exactly match the colour of the ink.I like all of the colours and so do my daughters who have been using these for their homework. I find them particularly useful for making written comments on students' work; they actually bother to read what I've written when it's in an unusual colour! The reason I've suggested four stars is that the caps are rather difficult to get off the pens and there's quite a sharp edge to them which tends to catch the skin on one's fingers.Otherwise they are great pens in a lovely range of colours.
