The first pad of paper I grabbed to test these out was accidently a dot to dot pad but I think that was a good way of testing these as your hand doesn't automatically know which way it's going to compared with normal handwriting. For control purposes I tried a normal Bic and a smooth grip Bic as well. We have approximately 3567 wild Bic roaming the house but they are incredibly timid and can only usually be cajoled from their hiding place with 10 minutes of shouting and searching under various books and crevices. We were all in awe of the new Bic. It is indeed smooth, less scratchy on the paper and gives a nice thick trail. You do still need to get it to do that forward and back warm up exercise like with all bics to get started leaving you with a few indentations near the first stroke unless you remember as a seasoned Bic user to first scribble on the nearest child, bottom of your shoe ... to get going. This Bic still gets nervous sometimes and splodges out a lump of ink which you catch with you hand and smear everywhere. This is a known Bic trait which I find endearing and as it mainly happens in Birthday cards it reminds me of happy times.Write smoothly for longer with this Bic. Live long and prosper latest Bic ...

I use loads of Bic pens. I have Bic Cystal biro to hand this one has a yellow plastic body and a fine nib, so I can compare that to this new Soft Crystal Bic.The new one does flow better, writing feels smoother and therefore I can write slightly faster.I tried each colour, the green has a tendency to blob as did the red, not an attractive quality in a biro but the other colours of blue and black did not blob. Also the blobbing isn't so bad that I wouldn't use them. Also the more I write the less blobbing! I don't really have much need for red or green pens but these do flow well and my friend commented that the colours are a better tone, a proper red and green. The casing of the biro is an attractive blue with sparkly writing e.g.Bic crystal red. Unfortunately the ink cartridge is now opaque so you can't see how much is left to write with.Overall these do seem to be a genuine improvement on the basic Bic biro. I noticed the pens worked immediately no warming up scribble needed.I like writing with biros I prefer Bic and always buy lots so I can leave them all around my home. Nothing is more a waste of time than looking for a pen to write with!

I love Bic Pens, I really do and these are just perfect. A totally new product in the Bic Cristal Ball Point range ... the Bic Cristal SOFT Ball Pen.I wasn't sure what to expect with this new type of pen and I was pleasantly surprised, the Bic Cristal is like a cross between an ink biro and a roller ball pen.It is beautiful to write with ...The special 'Easy Glide' ink writes much smoother that the original Bic Cristal, the tip gives a writing line of approximately 0.45mm (classed as medium). This pen is extremely comfortable to hold and write with, due to it's hexagonal blue barrel.Bic Cristal Soft Ball Pen in Assorted Colours (Pack of 10) is very good value for money. You will receive 4 blue pens and two each of black, red and green in an easy to tear plastic wrapping.I have been using these pens ever since I received them for all of my writing needs, I am very pleased with the quality of these pens and as long as the ink lasts a reasonably long time I will certainly be purchasing them in the future and probably for a long time. In fact I have just purchased some for my boys who are in college and they are well satisfied with them.

Bic's Cristal soft range are smoother than the usual Bic biros. The difference isn't huge and the glide of the ink certainly isn't as smooth as a roller ball or gel style pen, but then neither is the price. What is evident from using these compared with the traditional Bics is that you need significantly less pressure to write with. This makes for a smoother writing experience and probably means you can keep going without your hand getting tired in exams and such like. Overall, I'd take these over the Bic traditional pen every time now. This pack comes with a sensible mix of colours (4 blue, two black, two red and two green). Why the dropped star then? The barrel through which you can see the ink level on the old style Bics has been made opaque. While I get that they wanted to make them look slightly different, this seems like a step in the wrong direction - now you cannot see when your pen is about to run out. That aside, good product.

After a few days trying to decide whether or not this pen really did feel softer than a normal biro, I realised it was actually referring to the ink and not the pen itself. Quite a relief as I'd been really pondering how the plastic part of the pen could feel softer. Clearly in my case the blonde dye cancelled out the university degrees. Ahem. That said, I've now been paying attention to the ink when using the pens, and indeed they do feel smoother and much more fluid. I've alternated between these and normal biros and there's a very palpable feeling of the ink gliding out of these new Bic pens, it really seems to flow on the page as you write and my erratic handwriting even looks a little bit more elegant. They are really lovely to use. I'm in danger of becoming a pen miser now, making sure nobody borrows these smashing biros from my desk. Definitely the pen of choice from now on.

These Bic Crystal soft Ball (medium) pens are the latest in a range of Bic products. Supplied in basic colours of black, blue, red and green in the pack, they are a super addition to any office or schoolroom. One thing I noticed, they worked immediately - often with other pens, you have to press violently a few times before the ink begins to flow, not so with these and they are virtually smudge-proof. The 1.2mm point size is ideal for everyday writing. As a person who still prefers the written medium for my initial scribbles, the hexagonal shaping makes these an exceptional, comfortable hold. Easy to open packet at last - just a swift pull in the right direction and the packet opens. The small ball head is also an advantage in preventing accidental ink marks while making a quick movement with the pen and accidentally ruining clothes or surfaces!!

These pens are still the classic Bic Cristal design but are filled with a smoother-running ink. I was amused by the claim that they were up to 35% smoother to write with - how do you measure that to such accuracy? - but they do seem significantly easier and smoother in use, which is a help to those of us whose handwriting needs all the help it can get. They also have a pale blue plastic barrel rather than the traditional clear one, which I like, and an opaque tube for the ink which I don't, because you can't see how much ink is left. This is hardly a major problem, though. We've all been using Bic pens for years, so I won't bang on about them. If you need a basic Bic biro, these are very good and to me they seem a genuine improvement on the ones I have always used. Recommended.

This is a new take on the familiar BiC ball-point pen. It is supposed to be smoother, and I think it really is! The pen writes with very little pressure, and glides easily over the paper. The ink appearance is as one expects from a BiC, with bright blue and red, deep black, and a weaker green -- good for tentative crossword entries but too feeble for crazed green-ink rants. The pen has the traditional shape, tastes the same when you chew it, but looks a little different -- the transparent barrel is tinted blue, and the ink level is invisible. I'll have to use it until it surprises me by giving out. The top (which I quickly lose) has a hole at the end,so its only function is to provide the clip.

I normally buy fine tip Biro's but having used these for the last few weeks I have to say I have grown to like them. However as the ink container is white and opaque you cannot see how much ink is left which is annoying, if it was done for design reasons it's just plain daft and needs re-assessing.I would also normally mostly buy black pens and this set comes with 4 x blue and only 2 black, I am forever scribbling down stuff and have largely been using the blue and red pens and am satisfied with the results.Although the current set is OK if it was in a shop it would appeal to me more if the pens were fine point and if there were 4 black and two of each of the other colours.

The cynic in me says that a BiC ball pen is a BiC ball pen has been for years and how can they claim to have improved it? But improve it they have and in no small measure. As soon as you take one of these pens out of the packet and start writing it becomes obvious that these pens write a lot smoother than the traditional BiC ball pen. This additional smoothness makes writing much more of a pleasure, I don't know what they have done technically to achieve this but it is a resounding success. Coming in a pack of 10 pens with 4 blue, 2 black, 2 red and 2 green I think this product is terrific value for money.

I love Bic ball pens.I draw and write with them and have half a dozen in a variety of pockets at any one time. I draw caricatures with them and having a range of colours means I can do a lot of fun things without resorting to other media. These pens do write smoothly. The ink dries quite quickly and the pens are pretty much the same shape and size that they have always been. They are great in these colour packs, but the blues always go to my wife for writing, as I don't use a lot of blue in the work I do.Maybe I should start adding skies to my caricatures?Bey a pack and let yourself go!

I draw and write using biros and have become a bit of a biro snob. I'm a teacher and use colour coded marking, so the mixture of colours is perfect. The smoothness of writing makes a real difference to the speed in which I can write and respond to student's work. The smooth and consistent flow of ink in these Cristal Soft pens requires very little pressure and makes an arduous task much quicker and easier. The new look pens have a transparent blue barrel. The only thing I'm unsure about is the white ink reservoir, which conceals the ink and stops the satisfaction of seeing the levels drop.

NEW BIC========I have to admit that before using these new bic pens that I didn't every think that the older bic pens were "not ok"What I mean by that is when I'd use an old bic pen, I found their use perfectly acceptable. Then I used these new ones and I'd never go back.OK, 'never go back' might be putting it too highly but I'd certainly prefer to use these.CRISTAL PENS============We know bic for lighters, razors and pens.

These are good quality biro style pens that seem to write well and last well, coming in a pack of all the four main colours that you would need: red, blue, black and green. They are handy to use, don't dry out or leak and are made well. They are definitely much less scratchy and scrappy than some cheaper biro pens, and allows you to write more smoothly. The ink does not blob or blot, and dries quickly.

18.3.2015

Normal BiC pens are my disposable pen of choice because they seem to make my writing neater than any others I've tried and feel good to hold. These soft ones are even nicer to write with - comfortable and smooth to write with. An improvement on the original that I didn't know I wanted until I got it. Now I just need to find a way to not loose them.
