There are quite a few brands that now offer erasable pens and, having tried most of them, I would say this pack are up there as one of the better quality versions. Although at first, the pens can be a little on the scratchy side, with some firm pressure and regular use, the nib seems to mould to your style of writing both becoming nice and smooth to write with and producing a nice even spread of ink. The colours are vibrant enough for these types of pens which tend to have a different colour saturation to non-erasable ink and of course, the erasable nature of them is very handy. These are not suitable for marking up or signing important documentation as 1) the ink is erasable and 2)it can disappear of its own accord. In very hot circumstances - e.g. if you happen to leave your notebook in the car in very hot weather, the ink tends to disappear by itself - this is easily remedied by placing the notebook in cooler climes - for fastest results a very brief stint in the fridge/freezer and the writing comes back within a few seconds. These write nicely on Filofax paper (in case you are planning to use these for diary management); however, erasing can damage the fairly delicate/thin paper no matter how gentle you are - writing back over the affected spot can produce patchy ink lay down. Erasing on this paper is also less efficient due to the thinness of the paper so you can get a shadowing effect where you can see that something was written there previously. On normal paper, provided you erase without damaging the paper (which is fairly easy to do) you don't get the shadowing effect and you can write over the spot well. The only thing that I don't particularly like about the pens is the very plasticky look and feel and the fact that they do run out very quickly if you use them regularly. Although you can refill them, the cost adds up. For this reason there are specific purposes for which I will use these and use a regular ball point for longer pieces of writing or taking notes etc.Altogether a nice set of erasable pens and would like to see some more colours released in future.

This is one of those products that if you don't persevere with it and learn the correct way to use it, you might be tempted to dismiss as a gimmick. However, if you stick with it you find it does do exactly what it claims to do namely to erase coloured ink. This is a four pen pack with the green and red ones being especially useful if use different colours to mark calendars, diaries, charts etc. The point is a medium one and in writing flows well although it is not the smoothest pen I have used. The case is a servicable plastic and you can get refills for them which is good news as they are more expensive than other basic Bics. When it comes to the USP of erasing the ink, then first impressions don't look good. There is no rubber or simila,r just a white plastic end to the pen top with a small hole in it. This will attach to either end of the pen, but if you just casually rub on a sheet of paper it tends to wrinkle the page and leave most of the ink behind. What you need to do is to hold the paper steady and apply equal pressure across the area you want to rub out in short firm strokes then you remove nearly all of the ink without damaging the paper. If you want to give it to children, then do take a little time to show them this simple technique and then they will love it and avoid messing up their exercise books. In the end then a good product worth buying and very handy if you have a little patience and take your time to use the pen correctly.

I really like the way these pens write. Unlike some cheaper gel pens I have tried (in fact probably all of the cheaper gel pens I have tried) these write very smoothly which is great for those of us who like to write in cursive. The ink flows consistently and so the letter's that one writes also come out consistent and not ranging from dark to light and thick to thin. The colours are also very vivid. The orange is more like a light red - perhaps not good if you want true colour but I liked the vividness of it, and the yellow (normally a colour I instantly discard in mixed pen sets as it is nearly always too light to be read) comes out as a dark yellow, almost an orange so is actually readable and useful and therefore not a waste of a pen.Obviously they do have quite a high price point (£22.99 at the time of writing this review) and this is a little off-putting. While they do come in a beautiful metal box, unless I bought this as a present for someone else, I would find this completely unnecessary and would throw it away. Personally I would prefer they knocked a few pounds off the price and did away with the box. I suppose some might keep it to store the pens or even odds and ends in, although it is very shallow and so of limited use.If you can get past the high price, you will find these very decent pens and certainly above their cheaper rivals that I have tried.

Budding spies (or just regular people who make mistakes now and again) rejoice! This is a fab, modern incarnation of the old 'erasable pens' of old (80s kids will remember), with some well-needed improvements.Remember those old pens that worked with a kind of chemical remover nib that meant you couldn't actually write back over the erased area with the same pen? Well, these pens use a completely different system to remove the ink, so you can scribble back over the same area, no problem at all. There is a slight payoff in how quickly / easily they do that - you'll need to rub over the area carefully and more thoroughly, taking care not to damage the paper - but all in all,it's a pretty cool update to an old idea. They're gel pens, but the four colours are a pretty spot-on match for the same variety of biros, if you're used to using the standard colours of those. As such, they're perfect for marking books, annotating papers and such like, and you can pretty much swap out your cheap biros for these. Great for scribbling notes in books or papers that you might have to pass on without the notes afterwards.Good to see BIC's nod to sustainability too, as they're refillable (something which also helps justify the slightly higher price compared to standard gel pens or biros).Great stuff from *the* name in pens - you wouldn't expect any less from BIC.

My first experience of erasable pens, in the 80s, was not that impressive, usually it took a lot of effort to erase the ink and even then there was a noticeable ghost of the writing left behind. These are very different and work on a principle that involves turning the ink clear when it is heated by the friction of the rubbing action. Beyond the scoring of the paper, there is no evidence of ink left on the paper, once rubbed-out. I wouldn't want to erase large quantities of ink, but for the occasional mistake when writing, these are quite a boon.In the hand these feel like any standard gel pen and they write like them too. I wouldn't say these are anything special in that respect, but they are decent. My son now uses one of these for his daily school work and so far hasn't complained, even becoming worried at the thought of other kids getting their hands on it, so he must like it.I'm not sure when I'd use most of the colours supplied, though I don't hand-write large amounts. If I was a letter writer or journal-keeper, I can imagine these would come in useful, for adding interest. The tin is nice enough, though it does exagerrate the size of the set, you could get the pens in one half the size. However it does make it look like a nicer gift and would be less impressive otherwise.

Back around 1979-1980, there was a range of pens launched called Replays. They used ink. But you could rub it out. Using the rubber atop the pen. Which was actually an ordinary rubber anyway. But for those of who were at school at the time, these were a great novelty and useful to have. But things like that don't last, and I never saw anything similar after. So this is a nice surprise. In a thin steel tin, neatly tucked into this in a plastic holder with eight snug slots, are eight pens. All of different colours. All under a clear plastic lid that comes off and on again easily. These are medium tip 0.7mm pens, which means they have a good nib that gives out a good amount of ink.And does write surprisingly smoothly. A godsend if your handwriting is awful. Like mine. And you can erase it as well. Using the rubber atop the pen cap. Which also, as with so long ago, appears to be an ordinary one so you can get another yourself when it runs out. They come in eight different colours as well. Black Green Blue Purple Pink Brown Yellow and Grey. I think. I'm colourblind, but that's how they appear.A nice set of pens. In a nice box. With the added advantage of the rubbing out, makes for a good product indeed.

As far as pens go, gel based ink pens are always preference. The reason for this is that they tend to be much more reliable than ball point pens, in that the ink flow is constant and they provide a very smooth writing finish. This set of Bic pens is no different and the range of colours supplied (orange, pinks, blues, green and grey) are very attractive. One slight downside is that the pen grip perhaps isn't as comfortable however, I possibly find this more of an issue given I tend to grip a pen quite tightly, albeit, I probably don't need to with these gel based pens, as the ink runs so smoothly. These pens are also erasable and I think that this is actually quite a rare feature.Included within the cap of each pen is an eraser which enables the ink of these pens to be removed from the paper. Whilst the eraser does work well, it is unfortunately unable to remove all traces of the writing on the page i.e. all the ink is removed but there tends to be an underlying mark which could still be read when the paper is tilted at certain angles. In summary, these are very good quality pens, containing good quality ink however, if they were slightly more comfortable, they would have got the full 5 stars.

First up, at time of review these were not cheap, to put it lightly. They were delivered in a metal tin, but not really worth the price in my opinion, that's going to need to come down to match "frixion" prices I think. They seemed to work a bit better than "frixion" in terms of erasing, and the colours seem a bit more vivid. But it's not worlds apart, and the main issue still remains, that with these sort of "sharp tip ball point pens" you tend to leave an indent in the paper as you write, so you can erase the pigment but the scratched in writing still remains. There's also the same issue of "what happens if you leave it in a warm place", since the pigment change is as a result of heat.Imagine doing a school assignment, then getting called in by a teacher and asked why you submitted blank pages of work, because he left it in the car in the sun...I'm not sure if that happens but it would be "hilarious". I *think* from what I've read that they erase at >60C so that shouldn't be encountered in everyday life in a workbook, but easily would in the sun under glass.Anyway these are fun, and clever, but I don't think I'd want to do anything serious with them. Good as a gift for teenagers I think.

Erasable gel pens? That's novel, and very welcome too. As you can see from my photo, you won't get complete erasure, but why would you need it? This is much better than 'good enough' for correcting errors. The eraser itself appear to be just a piece of hard white plastic and you have to push down quite hard to get rid of the evidence, but it somehow does this without damaging the paper - I was using standard 80gsm white printer paper. You can then write on top without any problem, in stark contrast to the original erasable pens which erased poorly and rendered the area also unwritable. So, yeah, this does impress. The key negative is the firmness with which you have to press down. Both my children immediately wanted these pens - the promise of erasable ink is as alluring to children now as it was to me several decades ago - but both quickly gave up on them due to the firm but steady pressure required. What they want is ink that erases like a 2B pencil. That is still to be invented. Meanwhile, these pens are great, and hopefully Bic will bring out a set in their 'fun' colours.

I love gel pens, probably more than is reasonable, but I really like how smoothly they write and just the way the feel. This is a nice set of coloured pens, though if I'm being honest, I will have very little use for the red and green ones. Each pen took a little bit of start up time before they started to write smoothly, but once they did, they were excellent. For a bit. Then they began to feel lik they were running out of ink, with the gel not flowing evenly and the tip requiring regular wiping to keep them writing well. This isn't a major problem but an inconvenience I could live without. However, I have to say, I am amazed by their erasability. I figured they would basically half-erase,leaving a clear ghost image of what had been written. Not at all. While there is no such thing as 100% erasure, ,even with pencils ,these come as close as could be hoped, particularly if the ink has been left to dry. This genuinely impressive feature more than makes up for hte occasional inconsistency of flow and makes this a highly recommendable set.

I get through a LOT of pens in my work and thought I would try these. They are comfortable to write with which is important to me and , while they make a line less strong than some others , it is great to be able to change what you have written. They do erase fairly well which makes them very useful for lots of kinds of work...especially class work and notes which is what I do. They are not entirely easy to erase but the eraser does not seem to damage normal paper which is great. The ink flow is good which make then good to writ with even on not great paper. I use the cheapest for most of my work.I love having the different colours , Black , Red , Blue, and Green.I would not have bought different colours without having the set but I like and use that to make some work stand out for easy reference. All together they are good pens and I like them a lot. I enjoy using them and will get them again. Recommended.

Sick of crossing out appointments on your calendar and it looking messy? Me too!On first use of these pens I was left a little disappointed - I'd made an entry on my paper calendar and realised it was the wrong date - when I went to erase it, I was left with smudges. "Pfft, good advertising, bad product" I thought, and continued entering other dates onto the calendar. A few moments later, I returned to the smudge and tried to erase it again - this time it worked. The trick being to let the ink dry.I was really impressed with these pens. Maybe there is already a market swapped with erasable pens, but I had not seen them before. Not that I like to make mistakes, but it is good to know that I can quickly remedy them without the need for correction fluid to hand.I'd really recommend this product for diary-keepers and students! :)

This pack is of four gel pens – red, black, blue, green – the writing from which can be erased as readily as pencil marks from a pencil with an eraser on the end. Clever! As with an eraser intended for pencil marks, the eraser both loses a bit of itself and takes a small amount off the top surface of the paper. So the eraser won’t last for ever – but then, neither will the pen. The same is true of any pencil and its eraser. However, the pens can be refilled! Packs of three of each of the separate colours are available for about £4 each. So you don’t have to buy a whole new pen – or set of new pens – until your eraser is worn out. They are comfortable to hold, and the rubber collar close to the writing end enables a firm grip. The only minor quibble is that the colours are not as bright as you might have hoped.

Nicely presented in a tin, although space wise, I can't see anyone using this for taking in their bag as the tin with the pens in would be much more substantial than just putting the pens in your pencil case. It does make them seem rather a special presentation though if you were giving them as a gift. They work well enough. They did not erase totally on all kinds of paper, but well enough on most. I quite like the idea of the ink vanishing if left in strong sunlight too long. Then to re-enable the ink you place the paper in the freezer. Might be a fun way of secret messaging the kids. I am sure this property could be taken advantage of rather than it being pointed out as a downside.Nice fine tips to the pens and lovely bright intense ink, so perfect for doodling and drawing with as well as note taking.
