Bought this to replace an aging wallet which was basically falling apart. I had always wondered though, why - when I didn't particularly keep much in it, it was so chunky? It used to put me off taking it places if it had to go in my jeans pocket because it was so bulky.I began my search for a replacement, however it seems to me as someone living in the UK, that most wallets - especially the slimline ones - seem to be made with US notes in mind. American notes are of a uniform size, and not very tall. Thus, when trying to put a larger UK note like £20 in, the top few millimeters would stick out of the top and then get frayed over several days of squeezing it in and out of pockets etc.Enter the Bellroy Leather Note Sleeve...I had discovered this lineup of wallets and the reviews were generally good. Two things however stopped me from really buying one immediately. 1) That no-one was specifically calling out the fact that it was the right size for UK notes, and 2) the price!I ended up using a ruler to measure my current wallet and compare it to the given dimension of both the Bellroy Leather Slim Sleeve and also the Leather Note Sleeve wallets. In the end I determined the Note Sleeve would be the safest bet to accommodate UK bank notes. The money side of things was a little harder to decide upon. £65 is a *lot* for a wallet (to me, anyway), but I decided to give it a go, knowing that I'd returned things to Amazon before and the process was always so simple - so if it didn't suit my needs I could return it easy enough. When the wallet arrived, I transferred the contents of my old wallet over to this new one - and I kid you not - it was still less than half the thickness of my *now empty* old wallet. I cannot believe the difference. Even after putting 3 credit/debit cards, my nectar card, my gym membership card, my driving licence, a couple of my business cards, and 3 or 4 bank notes in it - it was LESS THAN HALF my old wallet's thickness!I knew right then it was the right choice and that I wouldn't be returning it. That was about a month or so ago and I've enjoyed using this wallet ever since (yes, when would you ever say you "enjoyed" using a wallet?). I have no issues carrying in in jeans pockets - or anywhere else. It is barely visible. The quality of the manufacturing seems good too - nice leather, stitched well, and the lining is nice too. The card slots, which initially were quite 'stiff' have softened up though usage so it's easy to get the cards in and out. And I especially like the "pull tab" mechanism to retrieve the less-used cards from their hiding place. The only downside to this wallet is that although there is a place to put coins, I really wouldn't bother. It is a little fiddly with a little flap, built into the back of the note holding slot. But, if you can get over the £65 price tag - which admittedly I would knock a star off for if only I didn't like it so much - then this is a very worthy investment and I don't regret buying it for a second.

Saw loads of ads on the net about these wallets, so decided to take the plunge and get one.Pros:- Look exactly as the photos. The blue steel is sexy as, subtle yet obvious enough not be boring black. The pattern inside the note compartment is a really nice touch.- Is very small and lightweight - exactly what I was looking for, and smaller than you think. I can confirm it does fit UK notes, which is something the website wasn't particularly clear about.- Build quality - I bought one to last. The stitching is nicely done and generally the thing is very nicely put together. Feels quality in the hand.- The additional card holder part in the note compartment nicely fits an Oyster card and keeps itout of the way of other cardsNegatives:- My old wallet had a separate section for putting receipts in, which this doesn't. Would have been nice to have a section for this but would have bulked it out. Small detail, I guess I will just have to get into the habit of emptying out receipts more- Realistically you have 2, max 3, sections for quick access cards. Not ideal if you have loads of cards that you use frequently. Yes you can put loads of other cards in the storage bit, but it is not ideal for quick access and the mechanism to pull the cards out and put back in again is fiddily. I wouldn't want to wait around at the counter in a store flaffling around with this. Not a massive issue for me though, I only really use my debit card and Nectar card the most, the rest (driving ID etc) can be put in the storage area.- Slightly expensive for what it is. Sure, it is nice quality but I think it is worth around £30-40.Overall, would recommend if you are looking for something a lot smaller, lighter and better quality than your average wallet from the high street. If you have loads of stuff in your wallet that you use frequently, then this is probably not for you, but it is a great exercise to get rid of all the unnecessary crap one normally keeps in their wallet.

Terrific wallet, and I think I am a tough customer. What I really like:Small size, but holds most everything. My prior wallet was fairly large...which means you keep stuff you really do not need. This helps manage minimizing how much stuff is in your wallet.Secure. I had a wallet where I was always afraid my cards or license, etc...would slip out of the slots. Slots were too large and material to slippery. The Bellroy slots are just the right size and the cards will not slip out.Soft. Nice feel. Each on the pocket. Does not weigh down my jeans or jacket pocket.Look. I think it is a great looking wallet. My wife is not fond of the color...but I think it is great.Price. This is not cheap, but I would buy it again in a minute. I looked at probably 20+ other wallets in department stores and they were all too large, too stiff, had too many compartments...while less money, I would have been unhappy. So Simple. I really like the slots/compartments. There are 5 individual slots for cards (I have 1 card in each of these slots, although you could fit more). The pull tab is so "smack your head" simple and works well. The coin slot is kind of silly to me -- I never keep change in my wallet. However, it works perfectly for an extra credit card slot and the little flap helps keep what is in there really secure.

Bought the teal version of this wallet and I have to say first impressions.. Very good. The look and feel is great, very minimalist style, clean tasteful colours that aren’t too bright so smart not tacky.Feels nice in the hand and fits pretty much any pocket with ease very slim and flat even with my cards and a few notes in, which makes it very swift and easy to handle in and out of my pocket. Having minimal slots, it’s very easy to find and replace cards which is nice and helps security when out and about (hate having my wallet out of my pocket and on show for longer than needed) I carry 7 cards and the three easy access slots work well for your most used ones with the rest stacked behind.Havingread other reviews I’ve noticed some mentioning the stitching not being very clean or straight.. personally mine is perfect not sure if I’m lucky or others were unlucky but hoping that for the most part these are well made because having contrast colour stitching and such a clean design any minor thing could really stand out which would be annoying.Just a reminder that this is just my first impressions review so hopefully the wallet will hold up well over the coming months and ideally years. If not I’ll be sure to come back and amend this review.

A year ago, I needed a worthy successor for my trusty Levi's wallet, the first wallet I ever owned. I had many wallets in mind, such as the Wrap Wallet, Saddleback, Frenchie and of course, Bellroy. I chose the Bellroy because it gave the slim fit of a minimal wallet without sacrificing the functionality of a standard wallet. Not to mention the great colour pallete (though I chose the black as I heard it ages better). When I purchased it, the order was weeks late. I contacted customer support, and they resolved it promptly. Impressive!Fast forward to today, I couldn't be happier with my Note Sleeve. It still looks great. Applying leather cream will keep it looking newer longer. The card slots are tight at first, but they will relax with time. The coin pocket is very handy, as we Jamaicans use coins a lot. Due to its vertical slots, it doesn’t break my cards as my previous wallet did. If you use a bus pass like I do, the RFID version will block the signal. It's expensive compared to most wallets, but I guess you have to pay for quality. All in all, a versatile, high quality product.

I’ve waited for 2 months of usage before reviewing this wallet to give an accurate and fair review. I’m pleased to say that it’s an excellent quality genuine leather wallet that looks and feels (and smells) fantastic, and will give many years of service based on daily use so far, and still looks like new!I was looking for a slim wallet, made from genuine quality leather to hold about 8 cards, a few cash notes, a spare key or a few coins , receipts, without being too bulky and this does the job and more than perfectly! I ordered the green one, it looks and feels great, it does everything that I’ve expected. I put my main 3 cards that I use in the slots when the wallet is opened, with another 4 loyalty cards etc in the pocket on the left which are revealed when the leather tab is pulled up. There’s another space for a card neatly tucked away behind the note section, and a coin section behind that which I keep a spare key in. Overall I’m very pleased with my purchase and will definitely be buying again when it wears out which I suspect will be quite some time.

I bought this wallet for my son - so he's writing the review." Great wallet, very slim and very functional. At first, I saw the number of compartments and thought I wouldn't be able to fit everything into this wallet, but the compartments are laid in such a way that everything you really want or need in your wallet fits in easily. While not giving you the option (like with my old wallet) to just shove any old odds & ends you want to carry around in your wallet (Allen key I'm looking at you). All in all, I found the things that I couldn't put in this wallet, shouldn't have been stored in a wallet in the first place. The wallet will easily take change, notes, and cards (mine is holding 8 cards comfortably). And if you wanted to put in something else that's wallet sized - say a house key, that will fit in fine into the slip in pocket (there's 2 in the notes section at the back. One for change that has a flap and the slip in one for receipts etc.)So a great wallet & a much-appreciated gift."

As other reviewers have commented, this is not a cheap option for a wallet. Is it worth it? On the evidence so far I would have to say yes. This wallet is well-designed, sleek and does precisely what Bellroy claims it will: store your cards and money without producing a bulky wallet to lug around. The compartment for notes easily takes UK-size notes of £5, £10 and £20 denominations, and the flap compartment takes a few bits of loose change, but you certainly can't over-stuff this section - five one pound coins max? 3 front slits take the cards you use most often, while a pull out flap section stores the rest of them stacked together. It's a nice piece of kit,and it does actually make you consider the essentials to be carried with you, and what can be left at home. Working on the basis that quality costs less - and covered by a 3 year warranty - it's certainly worth considering as a wallet that will hopefully last a long time without losing shape.

This wallet is the best wallet you can ask for. I've always carried much bigger wallets in size and had so many cards, with most of the cards being exposed when I would open up my wallet.I primarily bought this because it hides the face of the cards and you can put the least used cards into the pocket on the left. Once it arrived and I switch from my old fat wallet to this slim one, I knew I made the right choice. Having the 3 primary cards be on the front makes things easier for me and it feels more secure (because they're not as exposed), and the pocket on the left is easily able to hold my other 10 (!) cards with no problems. Also, there is enough space to put around 20 big notes and it would still feel light.I've been checking my pocket to make sure my Bellroy Note Sleeve I still there, mostly because I'm still getting used to it and its slim size.Get this, you won't regret it.

Purchased this as a gift for my husband. He needed an upgrade from his Dosh flip wallet. The following are his words not mine. "Really surprised that ALL my cards fit in here plus I can carry extra business cards. It's a lot thinner than my old wallet. And it's so professional looking." So there you have it right from the horses mouth. For me the wallet was really well made. I was expecting a more textured and a bit more thickness in the leather only because in my head I was comparing it to a woman's leather purse. But I'm glad it wasn't too thick at all. My husband has at least 10 membership cards, credit cards and IDs. He added another 10 business cards and the wallet still is very thin.If you haven't seen the video preview, watch it. Everything is accurate and functions as described. Bellroy will definitely be in my mind for future purchases.

I don't usual review things and I've bought this wallet directly from Bellroy, yet I had to say something about it. This is actually smaller than it looks. The cards fit perfectly and it's pretty much THE wallet I've been looking for a looooong time. It's small but still fits all the cards I need to fit - in this case, between 8 and 9 cards. Plenty of space for actual cash and small papers, etc. There is also two small hidden pockets that you can use for extra cards of even coins, yet if you need to carry a bunch of coins all the time, you better look elsewhere or do like I do: take the cards and money in this wallet and coins in a separate and smaller wallet or just in your pocket.Even though it does fit a few coins in this, yet the wallet will get bulky if you do it. I am extremely happy with my purchase.

This is my second Bellroy purchase, my first being a ‘Sling Bag’. The purchase of my wallet was based on the fact that the bag is of such fantastic quality the wallet surly had to be of the same high standard, I was not disappointed. This wallet just oozes quality, every aspect of it is just perfect. If you are into carrying a load of ‘Tat’ around with you then this wallet isn’t for you. If you want to minimise your card priority and still carry some notes with you then this is the one. The two pockets in the note fold area are for coins and a hidden card, I use them both for emergency cash and in case of emergency credit card rather than coins which suits my needs better. This wallet is slim, balanced in design, of the highest quality and worth every penny.

I bought my first Bellroy in 2014 because I was fed up with my other wallets cracking my cards up due to the positioning in the wallet and it looked like it would do the job. I have 20 cards in the wallet which have all been OK for 5 years as opposed to 2 at the most from other wallets which cracked them because they were placed horizontally in the wallet; I had to replace my bank card 3 times in 3 years before using this wallet! This wallet gives you the chance to place notes in but the coin option is one I would not go with since you need clear access to them and use without having to fumble around all the while. The leather aged beautifully and got really soft before over usage has forced me to try again.Excellent product for small, useful and safe.

This is a superior product to what I would have expected. The leather and workmanship is impeccable but when I started to fit all my cards I thought it would be simply too small. Thankfully, I haven't missed my old "Costanza wallet".The business cards and coins holder in the main pocket is wonderful. Bills fit well. The credit card holder pockets will hold two at a time which is perfect for me. The in-pocket pull out will hold several others and is where I keep my driver's license, car insurance back ups, etc. It is far easier to pull out, show and put back than I thought it would be. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase.I certainly had to get rid of some extraneous cards that I used to have but nothing that I regret or miss.

I love this wallet! I pride myself on minimalism, but I'm still in need of necessary 'stuff.' This wallet has space for the extra needed 'stuff,' yet feels substantially smaller in my pocket than my last bifold. No more bulging back pocket! I purchased the Note Sleeve in Cocoa. I was concerned the leather might be inferior (considering its' discounted price + it's discontinued), but the leather is of high quality + it's super supple. I'm also very impressed with the detail of the Note Sleeve's inner lining + the quality of stitching. Well done! Having been a lifelong Coach wallet guy, I am thrilled with my change to Bellroy. I'm looking forward to seeing how this wallet holds up over time.My guess... I predict it will perform well.
