This is quite easily one of the best phones for the money. To give you a good idea of how good this phone is, I'll compare it with my previous ones from the past 4 years:+Same size, and form factor as a Galaxy Note 2 (IMO the best phone I've owned), with a slightly slower processor,+Same RAM and ROM capacity as an LG G3,+Much better at multitasking than a Moto E 2nd Gen (which is probably the only phone out of the 3 which is closest to the Note S price point)+Much bigger battery than all 3.+The screen, while only 720p, is gorgeous to look at - it's an IPS panel and it represents blacks and colours very well, it doesn't suffer from a shallow viewing angle and the brightness level is excellent. You also have multiple display profiles to choose from which can alter the hue and saturation on the screen, either making colours pop or muting them depending on user preference.+A pretty phone, you can tell it's plastic but it just looks nice - the screen is even 2.5D glass. The battery is amazing, it took a little bit of calibration (the full drain/full charge method) to get it to report accurately, but holy crap! just over 2 and a half days since it was last on charge (pictured and at time of writing) and it's still predicting another 17 hours until empty under normal use - that's 3.75 days total! You're basically getting a Galaxy Note 2 with a (very) slightly slower processor and bigger battery for £65. So how is this excellent smartphone, easily on par with the big boys, so cheap? There's two catches - it's 3G only and the cameras aren't very good. What you get in this phone are a rear-facing 5MP sensor and a front-facing 2MP sensor, each one is interpolated (software aided) to produce 8MP and 5MP images respectively which can sometimes make your images look worse than a normal 5MP snap, so I recommend you switch the size down. While the camera's are very capable and have excellent representation in good light, they're very poor and noisy at any light levels other than bright daylight. Light sources have a tendency to overexpose indoors and there's nearly no steady-hand focus. Video recording is the same, capable of 1080p video recording at 30fps, but in low light the camera struggles to keep up - often ghosting any movement it picks up.So why not 4 stars?Because seriously - could you get another phone at this spec that can run 3 days without a full charge that can keep up with (and in some case outpace) the AAA brands brand new for £65? And that includes a case and screen protector pre-installed!

I purchased this 'phablet' as my first android phone. I had been growing increasingly frustrated at the lack of customisation options on iPhones, so switched.I was amazed at the sturdiness of the phone, the screen is a brilliant size, and the case feels solid. I especially like that the battery, sim and memory card areas are accessible. The provided 'protective case' is a silicon/soft rubber case that moulds round the phone, and is unobtrusive. It provides a little extra grip, too. The phone also comes out of the box with an attached screen protector. I didn't actually notice this for a few days, as it was so well adhered. I have left the screen protector on,as it is almost unnoticeable. The phone requires MICRO sim cards (bigger than iphone/nano sims, smaller than traditional sims), and the slots were easy to find and the sim cards simple to load. The phone registered them immediately and there is no loss in signal. The sims fit snugly in the slots.I did find data transfer between my PC and the phone, using the provided USB cable, was almost non existent, and instead opted to use OTA (over the air) transfer using an app from the Playstore. This is a minor inconvenience, but I much prefer OTA file transfer, even if the PC-Phone transfer worked, OTA is much faster, in my opinion. The data-transfer speed could be caused by numerous issues, including my PC, or a 1-1000 faulty cable, so I would not mark down because of this. The phone charges completely and quickly, and although the charging cable is quite short, I don't have an issue with this, as I usually charge overnight when the phone is not in use.The touchscreen is responsive, with no delays, and the phone is fast when loading and switching between apps.Overall, I'd say this is an incredible phone for the price you pay, and is ideal for someone who wants to make the switch to Android without spending £££ on a contract or PAYG phone from a big-brand retailer, or for a quick replacement phone in a pinch.I would highly recommend this phone, as it is sturdy, it performs exceptionally and it is a huge leap forward in terms of customisation and user-friendly UI. It is definitely on par with the big-brand models, without the price-tag.5 stars, highly recommended!

I have to admit to being slightly wary about purchasing a phone of Chinese origin, particularly given its price point, but having had the phone for over 9 weeks I am very pleasantly surprised. I have had none of the issues that some other purchasers have experienced and so far am amazed that such a phone can be bought for so little. So far I have installed the BBC weather app, online pool, WhatsApp, Soundhound, Flickr, Navmii, and Google Chrome and none of them have given me any problems. The camera leaves something to be desired but as a basic point & shoot it's fine. I opted for the 3G version and so far it's had no difficulty picking up the O2 signal or any of the available WiFi hotspots around my town.Previous to this I had the original Moto G with a pixel count of 326ppi and this has 267 but honestly, I can't see any significant difference; even 'pinched out' to maximum magnification I can't detect any pixels in the pictures or wording on any website I've visited. Battery life is supposed to be really good with its 4150mAh but as I'm in the habit of plugging mine in every night I can't vouch for this except to say that on any given day before charging the percentage has never dropped below 80% (wierdly it loses about 5% within the first hour even if not used but after that the drop in percentage is what you'd expect)So far I would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending this phone and the supplier Cubot Direct (the phone arrived 2 days earlier than expected).**UPDATE: 4th September 2017:For some reason this phone is really starting to play up. It freezes on a regular basis and is only fixed by removing the battery. Also, it just hangs when trying even the most basic of tasks and behaves as though I've asked it to do 20 CPU intensive tasks.I've had it for 17 months and for a 65 quid phone I suppose it's not done too badly but it's annoying, really annoying, none the less.Would I buy another Chinese phone? Probably.

This phone is without a doubt a no brainer if you're looking to upgrade from your old phone, or to be your first smartphone. The quality of the IPS 720p LCD is amazing, has a mediatek6580 quadcore processor and 2GB of RAM and 12GB Memory avaliable,is great for multitasking and average for games. this phone is mainly to be used for multimedia, such browsing the internet listen to music and play casual games. It's full plastic built, but does not feel cheap in hand, the battery cover is a sort of rubberised plastic that gives you really good grip when holding the phone. The battery, advertised as 4150mha is in reality around 3700mha, massive standby time, even when playing games it lasts me around 2,5 days,The camera is not that great, with good conditions (eg: outside with sun, indoors with good lightning conditions), it takes average good pictures, with poor light conditions, don't even bother using it, gets too sluggish and pictures get a lot of noise.Video recording is exactly the same thing, records at 1080p, with average quality, it has image stabilizer and panorama options, is good if used in a tripod, but when moving, you need to be very steady. It comes with Android Lollipop 5.1 but can be officially upgraded to Marshmallow 6.0, is bloatware free and carrier unlocked.Comes with a user guide,1A charger, silicone transparent body protector and a screen protector already applied, that's great no need to be looking and buy it separately. It can be rooted and if so, can be improved it even further, on every aspect, there is a community of developers for this phone, and plenty of custom ROMS you can choose and try, altough keep in mind warranty is voided with root.I totally recommend this phone if looking for a cheap upgrade, you're not a heavy gamer, or a photography enthusiast, if you're a power user this is the phone for you to push all it's features to the max and even add more.

I purchased this phone as a second phone after using the Moto E 2nd Gen phone for a couple months but didn't like it as it was too bulky and overheated.Anyway, onto the Cubot - I was very skeptical at first especially as I have usually used the well known brands. I already used a Nexus 6P as my main phone so needed a second phone for my business so after reading the positive feedback I decided to take the plunge and purchased the Cubot. When I first got it, I have to admit I was very surprised at how it was packaged - good quality packaging plus the phone came with a screen protector and a case. It did come with with a USB charger & cable. As for the phone itself, it is solid and felt very well built.I have been telling everybody about it, especially those who are looking for a new phone where their 'well known' brands have broken down after a year of use!Pros- Great screen size- 2GB Ram (1GB more than the Moto E 2nd Gen!!!)- Great brightness (more brighter than my Nexus 6P and my sister's Samsung s7 - she couldn't believe it!!!)- Dual sim- Battery life (last agesssss)- No 4G (but then 4G is still 'relatively pretty new' in the UK plus can use wireless when you get a chance if you want faster connection)Cons- Speaker is on the back so not great on loudspeaker (but clear when making normal calls)- Graphic quality on video isn't amazing but for the price you can't complain!- Time taken to fully charge but can so easily charge the phone overnight! If I hadn't brought my Nexus 6P, I would definitely buy this especially as it's a dual sim so it's pretty handy! Definitely worth considering if you're on a budget and want something that will do 'more' than the bog standard phone!

My first impression are good, such a sleek and stylish looking phone.CUBOT really have presented the phone extremely well, the manufactures retail box is very stylish, far better than many other phones sold here in the UK. The Note S even comes with a screen protector already fitted, and a clear protective gel case cover, so you dont have to worry about searching the web to buy these two extra items, as they are already included. The CUBOT Note S is very sleek and stylish, I purchased the 'White' colour and it looks more expensive than it really is. I actually bought two, one came with Android 5.1 Lollipop, and one with Android 6.0 Marshmallow. I checked for available updates in the phone settings, but non were available, so I visited the CUBOT website forum and found that you could download and install the new android 6.0 operating system. The update worked first time, only took me a few minutes and everything was very straightforward, I now have both phones running android 6.0 Marshmallow. The 5.5" screen is very impressive, nice and bright with rich colours. The phone seems quite quick, good smooth performance. The sound quality seems ok, the main speaker could do with being a bit louder though. Also the camera could be better, images are not as clear as my old phone. One of the phones out of the two came with a bent battery, the battery did not sit in the phone correctly. I returned the phone for a replacement which came quite quickly, thank you Amazon. So far so good, its too early to tell how good or bad these CUBOT phones are, lets all hope they outlast their 1 year warranty.

My 1st smartphone. Chinese tech has improved so much there's really no need to buy an expensive one to enjoy all the standard android features. This phone is a case in point. With big 5.5" crystal clear screen, Quad core, 2GB RAM & 16GB storage ( + 32GB add on with a TF card) and an enormous 4150 mAh battery running Android 6.0 why would you ever want to pay more? The spec ticks all my boxes. Phone runs fast, charges quick, supplied apps are useful rather than bloat, Android 6.0 is briliantly intuitive for a newbie like me. Unlocked Dual micro SIM means I can choose the best SIM deal available. Comes supplied with translucent bump & screen protector so it can used safely (after a full charge)straight out of the box. I've bought an tan PU aftermarket case for it which looks very tidy and gives additional protection to the screen. Touch screen works well once you've mastered the ultra light touch. Network aerial connection is good, wifi connection positive. The Cubot is a trifle bulky & heavy (due to the big battery) compared to an iphone but I can easily live with that. So if you're looking for decent spec, reliable budget smartphone, look no further. This review is after 1 months full use. I'll update this review should any issues arise but 100% reliability so far.UPDATE 14/03/17: Still 100%. No problems at all. Working great whilst I'm on holiday in mainland FranceUPDATE 09/05/17: Still 100%. No problems or issues at allUPDATE 12/08/17 Still 100% Continues to work well and fulfills all my smartphone needs.

Brilliant pone for the price, looks a lot more expensive than it is and works as well as phone for £100 - £200. I recently had the wileyfox swift and this is basically the same thing. In the past I have had Samsung's as well as Iphone's among others. This is fine.It does not come with all the extra features of other phones with big price tags such as an awesome slow motion video option and the camera itself is not great but it does the job if you just need a phone for calling, texting, browsing, games and the occasional photo. The best thing by far is the battery life. I play pokemon go which is known for consuming battery life quickly as well as having the 3G connected and GPS.12% battery left means I can play pokemon go with the torch on at the same time for at least 30 minutes. It is very good, I charge the phone overnight usually and there is usually at least 20 percent left when I plug it in and I use it a lot!The only downsides are it is quite big! Good in some ways but is a pain to fit in the pockets they put on womens clothes. No 4G, not a problem for me as I live far away from anywhere with 4G. And lastly it is just not as smooth as some other phones, but for a massive price difference! However it does do the job!

I have had this phone for about 3 weeks now. This will be my third Cubot phone and I have liked all of them. The two previous ones still worked but the connector sockets became loose after time and so required some careful arangment to ensure the phone would charge up. So my last one was the Cubot 12 and I only really upgraded because I fancied a change. So this phone phone fulfils all my requirements in that I use it for browsing, texting and making calls. Where it has failed my expectations is in the life of the battery. I suppose because it is so large, I expected the get far more life out of it. Whether it is this particular battery I am not sure, but I find that with fairly light use,it only lasts a day. This is from quite light browsing, the odd text etc.Apart from this, I am very satisfied with the phone and quite a few people have remarked on it, and been amazed at how much it costs.

Cubot is a not very well known company, Like zte but cheaper and still get very good specification. This phone has a plastic back with a metal front. Nice and sturdy. The design remindes me of the £200 samsung galaxy s5.This phone has a simple setup. What you would expect from a phone. It was a bit tricky when i tried to boot the phone sometimes because it randomly went on to the camera. It may have just been a fault in the system.Waterproof. This is not a waterproof phone but it can withdraw 5 mins in water a sink deep. 0.25m deepOverview:I rated this device 4/5 the only thing i dont really like is the cheap design. But thats what you expect for a phone for this price. This phone has suprised me,Its fast processer combined with the stunning viewing angles of the screen and the camera quality.I would really recommended this product budget or not.

Absolutely brilliant! I bought this as a temporary replacement while my Samsung Galaxy was in for repair after bricking itself for the 3rd time. It's so good I'm still using it and haven't bothered with the Samsung.Although it lacks some sensors (compass, gravity, etc) you won't notice unless you use Google Cardboard or a similar app, and the screen is actually better than my Samsung. The phone is fast and smooth to use, never locking, pausing or juddering and battery life after the Samsung is unbelievable, probably both due to not being loaded down with Samsung's useless bloatware apps and having less sensors to run; it easily lasts 3-4 days in a good signal area.I'm never buying an over-priced brand-name phone again.I think I'm going to try one of Cubot's flagship phones next and see how that goes.

Well, after I discovered Samsung s4s dont particularly like getting drenched on the moors, I found myself in the market for a cheap alternative - enter the note s!Since receiving this, it's hardly been out of my hand. Best mini tablet IV ever purchased. The 5.5 inch screen is really useful for eBook reading, surfing the net, and GPS helped me out when lost in ashley. Had a bit of music on as well, but speaker isn't up to much and photos whilst serviceable, do get grainy when zoomed in. However, the large bright screen which at 1280 x 720 has a HD resolution that is perfectly fine. All this for £65 makes it the best bargain IV had in a long time - oh yes, nearly forgot - you can make phone calls as well :).

After having a Sony Xperia - then upgraded to a Samsung S7 Edge i wanted a phone that was cheaper for me.I purchased the Cubot Note S, arrived the next day and i can honestly say this phone exceeds expectations. After using the phone for a couple of days, testing it - trying new things, downloading music, apps etc. This is the best value for money phone i've ever had. If i didn't see the price and someone else showed me the phone, i would of thought it was £300 +.After using this, my sister, partner and 2 of my friends have purchased the phone!Thank you very much, excited to see what other phones 'Cubot' make in the future!
