I am using BIOS Version 3.30 (12/11/19) and BMC Version 1.90 (12/11/19)As said in a previous review, there hasn't been a BIOS or BMC update for some time which is disappointing.I bought this board as I couldn't get hold of the more expensive X470D4U-2T version in the UK at the time of purchase (December 2019). The main difference between the two being 10G network.I needed a board to run unRAID as a file server and as well as hosting a VM or two. A board capable of taking two graphics cards, a x4 SAS controller and the ability to remote admin. AMD CPU's are great value at the time of writing and following an upgrade had a R7 2700X to use - So this board fitted the bill. It's currently running unRAID booting from the internal USB3 (needed to buy an adapter)with 8 drives in to a SAS controller sitting in the x4 PCIe expansion. unRAID boots to the internal graphics which is nice and I have a R9 Nano for a Windows VM and an old AMD card for Server 2016 VM. I have a USB soundcard in one of the rear USB ports and a small hub in the other for the keyboard and mouse.Good points.+ Remote Software is easy to use+ Price (£213)+ 2 x NVME ports+ Expansion Slots. There are 2 x16 and1 x4 PCIe (The more expensive 2T has a x1 instead of x4)Bad Points- BIOS layout is a little confusing, had problems changing the boot priority to USB- RAM will only run at 2133MHz despite using 3200Mhz modules. There are no BIOS settings to be able to adjust- My RAM has heatsinks meaning there wasn't enough room to fit 4 sticks- No onboard sound- Only two USB ports on the back- No internal USB Port- Holes for CPU cooler meant the orientation of a Noctua Cooler had the fans blowing upwards rather than to the rear of the case)Whilst there seems to be a lot of bad points, I have managed to overcome all of them, with the exception of the RAM which I hope will be fixed with a BIOS update.Overall a great board for the price. But check exactly what connections you need before buying as due to its size and price there are limitations with this board.
