This is a great addition to our stash of outdoor toys. It was easy to set up and once this is done then all really needs is a bit of water and you are away.Once assembled the Aquaplay Megabridge does take up a fair amount of space, but as we are only intending this for use in our garden this is not too much of a problem - though making sure there is space to store it when not in use is an important factor to consider if you decide to purchase this toy. It's also worth noting that if you do not have an outdoor space and want to use this indoors then you will probably need to make sure floors are lined with towels and that you are prepared for a pretty soggy clean up!Both of our small people absolutely loved playing with this toy.We filled it up with slightly warm water because although the temperature outside was decent we thought they might get a bit too chilly quickly as it's not been summer temperatures just yet. Their excitement at being allowed to splash about with the boat and various other toys which we bught out with us was great. As there are quite a lot of bits and bobs to play with in the set there is a nice range of things kids can do straight out of the box - many of which have a nice educational leaning which is always a bonus with any toy. Our two found loads of simple games when getting used to the flow of water and how it all worked but once this initial excitement had passed we were treated to sea serpent invasions using dinosaur models and pirates looking for their treasure. We did have a bit of trouble trying to lure them away when the time came to come indoors but this is the sign of a great toy so we can't really begrudge it, even if it did mean sharpening our negotiating tactics! When reviewing toys you do have to factor in the cost and at over £50 at the time of writing this is a ptretty considerable investment. That said it really does offer loads of play fun and as our kids are still young I suspect it will be used for several summers before we finally decide it is time to pass on. If you are looking to buy something that gives hours of fun which will appeal to kids of varying ages then you can't really go wrong here. It is one of those rare toys that genuinely offers incredibly simple play in an accessible way without trying to be too clever.

This proved a really good fun activity for a wide range of both adults and children. As it was Mothering Sunday we had the whole family around, and with the nice weather we decided to try out this wonderful toy. It fitted together well and went together perfectly although it is bigger than it looks. The grandchildren range in age range from 4 to 15; they all ended up slightly damp, but they all worked together well and it actually proved quite educational for the younger ones. It did need topping up a couple of times, but this was no problem, and we used slightly warm water to avoid the shock to the system. Luckily we used it in the garden, as there was quite a lot of water displaced during their fun.The boat floated really well, and we raided the bathroom toy bucket for various other things that floated or could be used to make it more fun. At one stage we actually had a race using straws to see which child could move the boat around the track the fastest, and they co-operated in opening the lock gates for each other. The aqua-car and the water wheel both stimulated conversation about how the wheel could move water and how the car could work on water, and the road and the crane proved a big hit.All in all this is an excellent and well-made activity for summer days in the garden, and it is useful to know you can buy extender packs to make it bigger.

Hours of fun - not just for the five year old but my husband as well! It's one of those toys that are educational and entertaining at the same time. We'd been for a walk recently and seen a lock and canal boat so this was hands on practice!Couple of points. Whilst we didn't seem to have leakage when we put everything together it was true that this toy was liked so much that when they were playing with it there was a fair amount of water going everywhere with items being taken in and out of the canal, water pumping and lock opening and closing.General excitement and water pouring so if you are using it inside think about defrosting your freezer and amounts of newspaper you'd use to mop up thewater.Really this is best for the summer and the garden and is robust enough to leave outside. It takes up a fair amount of space in terms of the overall spread and you need space to get around it. However when you are using the boats Playmobil figures and general action figures do not look too out of scale and have added to the fun. Obviously wood toys are not recommended.

It's taken a while for this to really get the usage it deserves, but now the summer weather has finally kicked in this is proving to be a real hit.The interlinking waterway is waterproof, and has not leaked, but I would encourage this to be considered as an 'outside' toy, or at least a hard floor toy (and even then watch for slipping!) - because the splashing that ensues during play, the removal of boats (and also the dramatic rescues of individuals who keep falling off bridges in apparently disaster movie inspired play!) means that water inevitably gets everywhere! With lots of options for moving water through lifts and lochs this is an extremely educational toy,as well as being really good fun.The toy itself is made from high quality moulded plastic. Add on kits are available meaning play can be extended and adapted, and, as other reviewers have pointed out, it works very well with playmobile vehicles (as well as rubber ducks and other bath time toys!), so its very adaptable. Great fun

This has lots of play opportunities from putting it together to all the splashy fun as boats head round to collect and deliver cargo. The joints click together and with the absorbing pads the water leakage is not great but the children will be creating lots of splashing with the fun they have. The fact that you can add to the system means it could be a great addition for playgroups, child minders and nursery settings. We did have one slight problem as I don't know whether I am missing something but the crane looks in the picture to fit on a position on the t shape but the tube is much bigger so it falls over all the time; it can fit at the end where there is a circular dip in the plastic but then that blocks the bridge so doesn't make sense ...am not sure if I am missing a part or if there is something basic I am not understanding.Overall it will be great for outside in the summer or somewhere with protection underneath to safe flooring from the water!!

I'd tested this a little indoors when I got it, which frankly wasn't really the best idea as it's hardly watertight! But all the same I got the general idea, and having recently had a few hot days I was able to set it up fully and properly in the garden and let the kids have at it. It wasn't long at all before realising that you really do need warm days to play with this, the water ends up everywhere so don't be surprised when you get wet! It's easy to set up, decent build quality and kids seem to take to it really quickly and it does have educational value which is a bonus, moving the boat through various situations that block its path is something the younger kids really enjoyed doing, proud of proving themselves capable.I can see the kids getting bored of this eventually, but then if we don't get too many hot days it may remain more of a novelty, time will tell.

This is an excellent set for younger children and would be an ideal investment for a family with a child aged 3 or so, because it will last well and continue to be of interest up the age of 8, give or take. Of course your mileage may vary and older children (and adults!) will still enjoy giving it a go, but I think children under 8 will get much more longevity out of it.The range of activities in this set are excellent - the bridge, the lock, the spinner to get water flowing around in a current, and the amphibious car, all stand out. This is basically the water equivalent of the Brio sets that younger children love so much. It's a big get as well, not modest by any means,so a fantastic present to get for a sunny day at the beginning of the summer, when you're expecting the kids to be playing outside a lot.

What a fantastic toy! You have all the elements that make for exciting play; construction imagination and water.Firstly this is very robust, and fun for children to put together. Every single piece is really sturdy and will take a real bashing from kids. This Bridge takes up a lot of room, and as there is a lot of water I would recommend that this is put together and used in the garden, the kids can make as much mess and splash as mu h as they want. It's packed with lots of toys such as figures and boats to play on the Bridges and slides, and this game really was enjoyed by all. There is good educational value in putting the whole thing together, and as this will last and last is a good investment. Most of all this time looks good and really is fun.Fantastic toy!

The mega bridge arrived promptly, well packaged in a fairly large box (around 90 cm long 40 cm wide). Firstly this is an excellent toy – but more one for an outside activity on a warm day than inside and it takes up a fair amount of space. We have a dining room, so it was ok to move the table to one side and then clear up afterwards. The mega bridge is well made and as well as being fun, there is certainly an element of education in playing with it. The boats, vehicles, people etc. are great action elements to keep children happy. It was certainly a toy that could be shared with others as a play time activity. This is a really nice toy – best suited to a warm day outside.

This is a great toy for the summer and the kids love it.Personally, I found the instructions quite difficult to follow as they are in pictures, but to be honest I am not the best at that sort of thing. When I did complete it, I realised it all clicks together quite easily actually. The toy is sturdy and well made. Kids will also love taking bits apart and putting it together as well as skiddling about with the water and the little boats that go with it. There is also a water pump but I can't quite work out how to use it.The children will love this toy as it is great to play with on a summer day. I got it for my little nieces who adore it.

This is a wonderful toy that is perfect for the warmer months, when you can set it up in the garden for your child. Simple to assemble and take apart, it is easy to store and keep clean, unlike some toys, it holds a child's attention for ages and also teaches them about concepts like volume and gravity. You also have the option to integrate it with other kits to create a larger network of canals, locks and bridges. My child loves it and I love it too because it gets us both outdoors and while they're engrossed in play, I can actually read something!

This set came in a much bigger box than I was expecting, but that only helped build the excitement. And as things will get wet, it is more of an outdoor experience unless you have a good sized kitchen. It provided plenty of fun for two girls aged 3 and 5, so bang on the recommended age with the younger one working up to and challenging her sister to increase the water flow with the hand turned turbine.

Takes about half and hour max to assemble and is fairly simple. Kids loved it! However, I'd suggest it'll be most helpful for the manufacturers to design more versions with a carry away/storage box as then it'll get more use and is easier to store away when the kids are finished with it.

My children are bordering a little old for the target audience of this great water playset. It was easy to set up, maybe 5 minutes. Seems to fit together, however I would advise you not to use indoors as it's not airtight.Great fun so far.4 stars.

Bought for our three year old grandsons birthday .He loved it . But it would be VERY VERY helpful to have some instructions for putting it all together! It arrived quickly and seems sturdy enough .. time will tell.
