In principal this is a wonderful jug. When I broke my much loved, bought-in-Germany original I ordered this replacement immediately. Oh, dismay. The one that arrived was made of thick ceramic, which looked very clumsy, totally at odds with the elegance of the design, and the perfect functionality of the original was totally compromised; the thickness of the ceramic left such a small pouring hole beneath the lid that the milk ran down the side of the spout to drip from beneath its 'chin'. Hopeless, so returned to Amazon. I'll buy the replacement next time I'm in Germany where I will be able to check that it is made of the fine, thin ceramic like the original.

It looked much bigger on the screen. Left it too late to return it , quite an expensive mistake.OUCH !!
