I bought this Korean made lens for full aperture (there is no diaphragm) astronomical use and so far, despite atrocious weather and "seeing", it has performed well. I will try to upload the only shots of the Moon that I've thought worth saving. The unit is sturdily made and not over heavy at about 850g according to my kitchen scales. With an aperture of 100mm (leaving aside the central obstruction) the potential for resolving detail is great and the enlarged moon shot attached does, I think, show it, given the very poor "seeing" at the time. The lens comes with a handy carrying case and, in my case, an M42 adapter. The lens itself has a clean T2 male thread and with a suitable adapter should work with any DSLR and probably a dedicated astro-camera.I'm hoping to try with a ZWO camera when I've devised a cradle to carry the lens. I found the manual focussing smooth and easy to achieve. For the f8 800mm image here I used a fixed Pentax K-5 at 1/320sec and ISO 1600. I think it goes without saying that this lens needs time to reach thermal equilibrium before use and I left it out on the mount for nearly an hour before hand. There is a 105mm filter thread and I haven't investigated the cost of any, but if you aren't going to experiment with the shutter and ISO you will, as the info leaflet suggests, going to need the odd ND filter. My only gripe, if I can call it one, is that the lens cap is sometimes a little difficult to clip back into place when finished.
