I've owned a few from the range, including the Swiss Champ (about as high as I feel is practical for the Victorinox range)I was looking for a gift, but a middle model and also considered the hunstman. However like many I feel that the cork screw is somewhat redundant for me (not a serious wine drinker), in this model it's replaced with the likely more useful Phillips screwdriver. All the other tools for a middle model are present, the larger knife, saw, slot screwdrivers, can/bottle opener, small knife, and the tweezers etc etc. This has most of what you want, without getting silly size wise (the Champ is a great model but larger and with more weight) You might actually want to take this out with you.Worth a mention, the scissors are ideal for cutting finger nails best I've found on any device! The expected high quality of Victorinox is still here, and the prices are quite reasonable too (my champ purchased in 1995 is no more expensive now than I paid in a shop years ago)Hard to award any less than 5 stars for this excellent knife. Other models worth a look are the expolorer (has a few extra items), and the tinker, which has a few less but still the cross head screwdriver. There is a new cybertool one too which I've not used but could be quite useful for computer repairs. Once you get up to the handyman model you might as well go the whole hog and swiss champ it.Do look at the model range with care though, quite a few different ones to pick from and many don't have the Phillips screwdriver at the lower end. Really very pleased with this it's made an excellent present and as you expect from Victorinox the real item has proven itself to me over many years of use.I bought the 2-4 layer black leather pouch with this and it fits perfectly and is very nice quality.

This Swiss Army Knife Fieldmaster Officer (SAK) is the dog's danglies . Purchased at a cost of £22.26 in the latter part of January 2020, I could not be more pleased. Typically I carried a Leatherman Wave as my choice of Everyday Carry (EDC), which in suit or formal trousers is a bit heavy on the pocket or sticks out far too much. I therefore took the advice of a friend and got this SAK, my single and only previous SAK went MIA 15-20 years ago.The SAK arrived loose inside a small grey cardboard box. Maybe Victorinox could have added a bit of padding or a cardboard fold to keep it in place, thus no premium feel here. The item is made from stainless steel and plastic, a stamp on the main blade proves this. There are 15 functions including the toothpick and micro tweezers. I ordered this model specifically as it came with scissors and Phillips headed screwdriver. The SAK feels well made with a good bit of force required to close away individual tools, ideal for when cutting things with the knife.Best of all and as it currently stands, this SAK is UK legal carry, since the blade is non locking and the cutting edge is less than 3 inches. Though, please check for yourself as things do change depending on time of purchase. In summary, get one for your EDC.p.s for reference each square on my green cutting mat is 10mm x 10mm.

Without doubt this fieldmaster IMHO is the best 4 layer SAK from Victorinox. It's brother the huntsman with the corkscrew instead of the 3D Philips screwdriver is popular but this has the perfect tool set for the woods, camping, work, DIY, in your vehicle etc. the best crossover urban/woods pocket knife. No it's not as robust as the Alox farmer or harvester which I also like BUT it's about versatility.. You get two razor sharp blades, scissors, the usual can opener and bottle opener screwdrivers,a reamer awl, the multi purpose hook, WHICH! I've finally found a use for which was a god send pulling electrical flex through a hole.. Don't ask... The Philips screwdriver already mentioned and last but not least the brilliant woodsaw. Now what makes this saw so good on this model and its brother is it gets a full length back spring the same as the farmer/harvester which gives a better rigidity to the blade when out in the open position. I have numerous Victorinox knives, over twenty from the smallest to the largest to the rarest but this is the go to knife and carried every day, everywhere.. Perfect size perfect tool set..and can't fault the price or the service from Amazon.

Since I first wrote this the listing has added the Victorinox name Fieldmaster, it was previously just listed as Officer's Knife. It's like a Huntsman, but on the Fieldmaster the corkscrew is replaced by a 'side' philips screwdriver. This means no lumpy corkscrew tool protruding from the handle, as the philips screwdriver folds away pretty much flush. I find this a little more comfortable when using the main tools (e.g. blades, saw), and when carried in a pocket. The shared scissors, saw and other tools are very useful. On previous Vic' models I have experienced slight damage (buckling) using the can-opener/screwdriver tool to try to undo very stubborn philips screws. However,I have found the dedicated philips tool, like this one, is generally more robust for that task, as it seems able to apply a bit more torque. I would also recommend the narrower and lighter 3 layer variants, the Hiker (minus scissors) and Super Tinker (keeps scissors but minus saw - but not listed as a Super Tinker last time I looked on Amazon) My order was shipped promptly and received undamaged - Thank you.

It's got all the tools you need (knife, scissors, saw, bottle opener, tin opener), some that are alright (leather sewing thing, hook, screwdriver) and none of the useless tools you don't want (who the hell uses the fish descaler or the corkscrew?). It also has some surprise tools that I didn't expect (tweezers, toothpick and a place to put a pin)It fits perfectly in the hand, it's not too small or too bulky. The annoying corkscrew isn't there to get caught on things in your pocket (which is an incredibly rare omission) and if you're not careful you WILL cut yourself on it, the blades are VERY sharp. It is, as to be expected from Victorinox, very well made - it is nice and sturdy and isn't going to fall apart or snap on you.

This is an excellent and useful pocket knife which any person would be proud to own and use. It contains a range of USEFUL tools and does not suffer any detriment by having the corkscrew (which I have never found a use for, whilst in the field!) replaced by a cross-head screwdriver - which may come in useful. It is typical of the high standard expected of a Victorinox knife. This is ideal for any young (or more mature) man (or lady) setting off on an outdoors adventure or expedition, such as the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme.

Victorinox fieldmaster is one of those elusive models here in the UK and I can never work out why ?This model has the perfect set of tools for edc or field work and is really good value here on Amazon, one of the only places you can get it too ?This is a favourite model as it's so handy its not over loaded with stuff you will never use , and at four layers thick it's as big as I think is pocketable? This fieldmaster would be great for camping or outdoor facilities! Victorinox got it right with this one a five star performer.

These tools are the most used so its has the best tool balance from all SAK knifes. This knife is officially called "Fieldmaster" and hard to get by in any shop, most only sell the huntsman. Its nearly the same as Huntsman, just the corkscrew is on this one replaced by a phillips screwdriver, which are now kinda rare in the latest production line from Victorinox for the EU market. For protection and that you don't loose it, just get a 2-4 layer pouch for it, this is a 4 layer knife from the 91mm range.I suggest this pouch

The fieldmaster is a great bit of kit. The two blades are extremely sharp straight out of the box. The lack of a corkscrew on this model is a bonus, as they have replaced it with a Phillips head screwdriver. The saw has rip teeth that is very useful, and cuts very fast through small sapling's, branches and is also great for other small jobs. As a owner of many victorinox knives I am very pleased with this model, it would be great if they made this model in the Alox version.Highly recommended UK legal pocket knife.

I've carried a small red Victorinox Classic on my keychain for as long as I can remember, but it was missing 2 tools, a philips screwdriver and a wood saw (which it was too small for anyway!) Enter the Fieldmaster, yes it's bigger, so I ordered the red leather belt pouch for it, (p/n: 4052010) a great combination! Both items are of excellent quality, which I have come to expect from Victorinox and I'm sure it's going to be my EDC for many, many years.

Essential for camping and holidays in .general.Tweezers good for removing sea urchin spines.Large knife big enough to spreading in picnics.Corkscrew dispensed with as not necessary with screw tops. The screwdrivers are handy for screws on bikes which can loosen on bumpy roads. The knife is not too big or heavy for pocket or handbag but I must remember not to put it in hand luggage when flying because these knives are subject to confiscation by security.

Excellent knife, which is very useful. Lots of useful features.Be very careful with the small blade - it is VERY sharp. The scissors are fantastic, at first glance they look quite puny, but looks are deceptive as they are really great at cutting. The only part I was unsure about at first was the usefulness of the hook, but I managed to get some dropped keys out of a drain with the knife attached to some paracord so It gets a thumbs up from me.

Brilliant SAK just the right amount of tools to carry in your pocket without being too bulky and uncomfortable, paid £22 at the beginning of feb 20 and for the price you can’t go wrong, fantastic Swiss made quality and quick delivery too. I was originally going to buy the huntsman but Because I would very rarely use the corkscrew I chose the field master which has a Phillips screwdriver in place of the corkscrew. Very happy indeed.

I only ever buy a new Swiss Army knife for one reason.....because I have lost it! Swiss Army knives are one of the few products to have retained quality; they do not rust, are difficult to blunt and the folding mechanism is robust. For my needs a Phillips screwdriver and saw are a must; The 'officer' is the smallest useful size knife which offers these tools. Brilliant couldn't live without it.

What can I say, I bought this for the various camping trips I do each year. It ticks every box as far as I'm concerned as its so useful and you can tell the difference when compared to a cheaper copy.Brillent and a design classic. I bought it along with a genuine Victorinox leather holder to fit onto my belt. Easy to get to and always on hand but understated. Quality product.
