It's extremely well made. I mean EXTREMELY well made. An absolute magnum opus. The chassis rings like a bell when you flick the tools back into place. Such tight engineering tolerances. No surprise it comes with a lifetime guarantee. Some minor issues compared to the [discontinued] Wenger version. The scissors are not quite as well thought out as the Wenger version which featured serrated blades and a more robust spring mechanism which was integrated into the chassis. The scissors on this have a flimsy spring placed between the handles, and no serrated edges. Still excellent because of the build quality though. My main problem is the hook is extremely difficult to pull out.I had to take the key ring off and use that to pull the hook out. This is fine as I'll probably never use the hook but it seems like a design flaw.Plus points are it's so well put together. The Wenger version is made by experts but this is made by the people who taught the experts. It really is something you could leave to your children. Very happy indeed with it.In an ideal world this would have the Wenger scissors and can opener [the can opener on this is perfectly fine, but the Wenger version was a little more versatile due to the very sharp hardened tip] with the Victorinox build quality. I'd rate them both equally, Wenger loses a point on build but gains one on innovation, Victorinox loses a point on innovation but gains one on build.10/10

Bought the Swiss army climber almost a decade ago. One of the best buys I ever made. I can honestly say that I have used it almost every day in those 10 years and it has never let me down once. From whittling wood to punching holes in leather belt. It has been an invaluable tool especially for opening packages, taking off labels, cutting nails, used as screwdriver, bottle opener, Cork extracting, pulling splinters with the tweezers and using the toothpick after meals. I could go on and on and on but you get the picture. Extremely well made and looks as good as the day I got it. Very low maintenance apart from a little cleaning, oiling and touching up of the blades but even then it's only now and then as they hold a great edge. The only thing that could improve the swiss climber would be a file which is why when my daughters bought me the swiss champ for my birthday I was over the moon. Same great quality with even more tools, ecstatic. However I will review the champ at later date. I cannot recommend the Swiss climber enough, buy it and you have a tool for life. Thanks Victorinox

It is a classic, I own one in my city bag. I bought this one for a gift, and he loved it.Delivery time was reasonable.Tools are opening easily enough.Quality standard is high which is what you can expect from Victorinox.I personally use mine all the time, I trim my nail easily with the scissors , I could open bottles either beer or wine, I can have an emergency screw driver (fine and large flat, can work as a philips if not too tight)...the two blades (one long 7cm, one small 4cm) are razor sharp, but quite narrow so won't use it for hard bushcraft of course, but it's still a good friend when you are camping.I personally appreciate the small blade for unboxing activities.Swiss Army Knife iseasily identifiable so none would freak out when you pull it out in public.

I’ve had this exact model of knife for well over a decade and I take it with me everywhere (apart from public places ie shopping centre’s etc). I use it everyday and if I ever were to lose it I would have to order another immediately. All of the blades, scissors, tools etc are of excellent quality. If I’d bought a set of screwdriver’s for the same price I dare say that most of them would be unusable by now.I love the scissors, not least for providing emergency nail trimming, the tweezers which are great for removing nasal hair, the small blade is great for opening online shopping orders. Buying this knife was one of my best decisions.

Pros:- It's the original swiss army knife- three layers - [imho] perfect thickness- UK legal [but be sensible]- useful combination of tools for "urban" edc- full size + small [pen] blades- bottle opener/flat driver/wire bender + can opener / flat driver + bottle opener- decent scissors- useful tweezers- mandatory toothpick which you really shouldn't be using- awl/reamer- multi-purpose hook - insanely useful- hole behind bottle opener to house a needleCons:- you buy a Swiss Army Knife, you want to buy more, and before you know it you have a collection

I purchased this exact model as a 10 year old boy 18 years ago. Its the perfect size without having any unecessary attachments; while retaining the ones you need. After 18 years of ownership it still worked perfectly without any real maintenance, just the odd clean.Ive bought this replacement after an airline decided to help themselves to several of my belongings while my baggage was in transit.Hopefully this time i get over 20 years of service out of my purchase

This, in my humble opinion, is almost the perfect Swiss Army Knife. It's not too bulky but it offers a great range of tools, including scissors, which are probably the thing I use most. The only thing that would improve it is to replace the corkscrew (which, in these days of screw-top wine bottles I hardly every use) with a cross-point screwdriver. I've found exactly this knife, but only in the USA. (Why, Victorinox?) So this is the best I can get in the UK.

I bought this for my partner and she uses it every day. You know what you are buying when you purchase a victorinox. Although the knife is amongst the best UK legal options the other tools are by no means masters of their function however having them in a small package means that no matter what you need you've probably got the tool for the job. I highly recommend a Swiss army knife to anyone and everyone. This tool is so convenient.

Bought one for my son for his birthday and my daughter was so impressed so I bought her one. Superb tools.Unlike my son's the other day this one came in a hard to open (had to use a Swiss army knife) blister pack which was far bigger and more wasteful. It's annoying. The more people who comment on wasteful packaging the more notice Amazon and other suppliers will take and the more we can reduce waste.

I use the scissors every day, so when it comes to picking a 3 layer SAK, the question is, weird sideways philips driver or corkscrew? Yes, wine comes with twist caps these days. No, I don’t have another use for the corkscrew. I do know when my times comes and I’m stranded with with my Climber and a bottle of Riesling with a proper cork, I won’t have to resort to pushing it into the bottle like a savage.

After 20 years I tragically managed to lose my trusty Swiss army knife. As it is used pretty much every single day I ordered one as close as possible to the one that was gone and it arrived within a couple of days. Pleased to say that the Victorinox is still the same high quality item it always was and should see me out assuming I don't lose this one too. Everybody should have one.

Bought this Swiss Army knife to replace one I purchased 45 years ago, as I accidentally damaged the blade. These knifes and all it’s various blades etc are brilliant, well made and with very sharp blades that last a long time. This one has the additional twizzers which may be very useful. The added advantage is that it is not bulky or heavy to carry in your pocket.

I like this knife although its a little small BUT with the UK Knife Carry Laws - It is just the ticket as under 3 inches and Non - Locking ! - Has 2 blades large/small, Scissors and the usual screwdriver, can opener, reamer, pulling hook, corkscrew, and tweezers/toothpick ! - Everything apart from a saw - If you want a saw I would look at the Hiker or Huntsman !

I had my last one (which I had for over 10 years) confiscated at Luton Airport as I had forgot it was in my over night bag. Purchased the same make and again they are quality, as I go abroad several times a year they are useful for making your lunch for your baguettes on the beach, opening your bottle of wine, cutting away loose ends of items. Recommended.

What can I add about these knives. I own three and they are all fantastic. Lifelong bit of kit if looked after. Only got this one because I lost old model while fishing. Beautiful precision engineering ........in this age of cheap build/high cost, these tools represent quality from a different era. Built to last and highly functional. Perfect.
