Our home faces east in the morning and west in the evening so we get hit both directions with heat. In the summer, it can get really warm in our home but its mostly limited to the top floor. I wanted this for my kids' rooms but I already knew our windows were not the correct size for this covering. Ours are taller. I was thinking I could jerry-rig it to make it work horizontally and i did! It works great. In the evening when it starts to cool off, i just grab the bottom corner magnet and pull it up to the middle magnet and it sticks. the top corner (where my window opens) is a magnet and since (i think most) windows have a metal frame under the paint, its perfect! Anyway,

The quality isnt that amazing, but it truly is blackout. Perfect for my daughters room, the color isnt super cute so with curtains on top its fust fine
