As i write this review its currently the British Summertime, it's not getting dark until at least 9pm. Junior goes to bed at 7 and it might as well be midday. Added to this his light curtains let through the sunlight making bedtime a frustrating process. In the winter we taught him that dark meant bedtime now he's really confused why we want him to go down when its still light!A friend suggested we try a blackout blind. A quick search on Amazon and we spotted the Gro anywhere blind. Having previously bought the fantastic Gro Egg we knew that Gro was a trustworthy brand. The blind comes in a small travel bag which is great to use to keep it in storage or for when our little one stays at Grandad's house. On inspection the blind is really thick and blocks the light out like it should do. We had a few small gaps of light shine through the sides but some careful maneuvering of the cups and we blocked out all the light. The suction cups stick well to our windows, some other reviews have mentioned they have had issues but we've not had a problem in several months of use. From the outside the blind can be seen but its not offensive, we leave it up constantly rather than take it down each day.Now bedtime really means bedtime! No more battles and bedtime and no more early early mornings.

I bought these for our bedroom balcony double doors (about 1.2 x 2.1m) and they work really well. I have read that a few people had some issues with suction cups coming loose, but after a few weeks using these, I can say that one suction cup has come loose only once, so I personally am happy with the product. If the blind is too big, it's easy to reduce the width and length by using the velcro spot pads to close the width up a bit. I've used it most nights and it takes literally 60 seconds to put it up and same to take it down. It also feels quite rugged, and not at all flimsy. I just fold it up and put it to one side in the mornings, but it does also come with a handy bag to pack it in if needed.I think the people who are saying that the suction isn't good enough maybe need to just make sure the surfaces are clean, and make sure they've fully pressed the cup onto the glass before they finish installing. One criticism is that, because it is black on both sides, it absorbs a lot of heat from the sun, which can warm the room up quite a lot, even though the light is kept out. They should probably consider making this white, or a white version, which I think would mitigate that issue. Other than that, I highly recommend this product - does exactly what it should.

I brought this for my twin’s bedroom. They have started waking up early as the sun comes in their room. We have blackout blinds in there currently, but they aren’t doing the job fully as light still creeps in through the gaps. I saw this on prime at a good price, so thought I’d give it a go. I was impressed by the quality and feel- nice and thick. It also comes in a handy travel bag. I had trouble getting the suction cups to stay put at first, but I found if I put a bit of moisture on them first (I licked them slightly!) then they seemed to stick well. In fact It stayed up all night until I removed it. I dropped a star only for the fact it is a bit fiddly at first.I had to make sure it was folded in at the sides and suction cups were placed right to stop the light coming through the edges. But once you get the knack It definitely makes a difference underneath our usual blinds! My twins now have an extra hour in bed in the morning! I like how you can alter the size with the Velcro, so it makes it quick and easy if you need to move it to fit another room for example, and doesn’t take too long to set up. It is true that it traps heat, so I leave the bedroom window open to ventilate it. I would recommend!

I rent an apartment with a big, west-facing balcony window, and the spring/summer long days have been affecting my sleep as the sun keeps shining in until late and it can get quite warm if the sun is not blocked.I looked on Amazon and found this. I was hesitant at first to be honest mainly due to some reviews saying it wasn't practical to install these and remove them on a daily basis.I took my chances and bought two as the window is quite big. I have been putting these up most days when it's not grey and removing them early morning for about a month now and they are flawless. They may not look perfect from the outside if that's important (they just look unusual and weird if you're part of an apartment block that share the same style),but they absolutely do what they claim to do and they are easy to install/remove if you gently pull where they instruct to you to in the instructions. I haven't cleaned the windows or the suction things so far as well.In the image I took it was really dark so I had to switch the lights on so you can see. I'm also able to play my Apple TV on the projector after putting these on.

This really is a ‘black out’ blind! The darkness it provides the room is amazing. I wish I’d bought one of these years ago and taken it on holidays- we like total darkness when sleeping and rooms always seem to have curtains/blinds that let in so much light! We tried it in our room first before our 8month olds...just in case the suction failed, but it didn’t and our room was so dark come sunrise! It’s now in our babies room for naps and bedtime and it added 40min on to her morning wake time first morning...could be a coincidence?!I did see comments about cracked windows and over heating, so I open the window between sleep times then just close it at bedtime. It’s easy to put up, good suction, thicker and stronger than I thought it’d be, darkens the room fantastically and will be easy to travel with. I want to get another 2 for our room and our 4 year olds now! Worth the investment if you like to get a good nights sleep in complete darkness.*Its routinely added 1hr onto my daughters wake up time, now 6.30 rather than 5.30am. Sleeps better for naps too. A must have for summer!

I've looked around and actually had one of these before and actually found these to be the most practical and suitable around and they do a great job but I have just one gripe.Whilst the suction pads work fantastic on glass panels of the window, they don't stay on very well when attaching it to the plastic frames or window seals. There isn't enough coverage on the outer borders to cover any light leakages even when sticking the suction pads right to the very corners and edges of the windows, some light still seeps through, so you sometimes have to stick it to the frames to block out all light. But I've found that during the course of the night many of the suction pads would lose grip and fall off. However when on the window they stay on forever. They still do the job and would recommend them and I haven't come across any other suitable products that would do a better job without having to permanently stick velcro tabs around your window frames.I would recommend these.

We bought the black out blind to help our daughter get to sleep during the bright summer evenings. It is a good size and will fit most windows, it also has Velcro patches to bunch the blind up to fit a smaller window.Once the blind is up it does a really good job of blocking out the sunlight and folds away nicely bag into the bag for easy transportation. My only negative comment I have is that the suckers don’t always work and we have to return a few times to put it back up again after the blind has half fallen off the window. We originally thought it was due to condensation but after it happening a few times we noticed it was the same suckers which must be slightly faulty.Even with the suckerissue I would still recommend the blind as it does the job in blocking out the light even if sometimes it comes away from the window it is still a lot darker than if we didn’t have it up at all.

I was a bit worried about buying this, judging by some of the reviews, but the suction is fine. All that needs to be done is to add a little water to the suction cups prior to adhering them to a window. The black out blind is effective, and blacks out all light. We have it on a window which gets hot in the evenings, especially on a sunny day, and have not had any issues with suction cups falling off.Overall, delivery was really quick, install was easy and straightforward, and the material is of high quality. I would buy again. If you are worried of the blind falling down or the suction cups not working, try getting some velcro straps and these could attach to the blind, to the already velcro pads already on the blind, and around a curtain pole. so if the suction cups fail, the velcro straps hold it up as close to the window as possible.Hope this helps

Overall I absolutely love the concept of this product, It is fantastic for trips away visiting or staying at grandparents etc.It has the ability to be adjusted to different window sizes which is fantastic and means that it is very versatile.Loads of suckers to give it good adhesion to windows and keep it in place (this also helps block the light out)The blackout quality is very good and provides really great coverageFully portable. it holds into its own storage bag so can be stored away when not needed or packed in bags easily when travellingMy only niggle is in the winter the condensation on some windows can reduce the suction power for some of the suckers (it was only a few for us and the product was still very much usable/functioning). Other than that it is a great product and well worth it especially if you visit a lot or travel.

After recent 4am sunrises we noticed our 5 month old daughter was waking up and not settling so we took a chance on this! The prior reviews have had problems with suction power but the one I recieved is perfect. There is a little flap it feels like on the back of the sucker which I basically twisted and pushed in order to get good suction and its stayed up so far for 4 days and counting.Size - the size is great as it can be adapted using the velcro to make bigger or smaller. I was worried it wouldn't fit our windows as ours are rather large but it did fit with plenty to spare.Light blocking is perfect. The room is totally dark. Word of warning though - if you have to get up for work don't turn off your alarm or you'll over sleep!I speak from experience.Anyway it's a great product and really does work wonders.

Staying in a brand new property, that hasn’t had any window dressing fitted yet. As this is only for a few weeks , rather than going to the large expense of fitting curtain poles /curtains I bought this blackout blind instead. I’m very impressed so far. Once fitted all light is blocked out and a full nights sleep can be obtained, even in a South facing bedroom. I expected it to only have suckers at the top and possibly bottom, however they are all down the sides too, keeping the blind firmly in place and the light out. The adjustable (by Velcro) header is a great idea too. Obviously this product has been well thought out before going into the market. If I were to give one negative,it would be that a plain black version Isn’t available too. I’m not sure I need to see stars and the moon printed all over them :)

I suffer from a conditon known as Cluster Headaches and find this product Absolutely brilliant when my light sensitivity kicks in during an attack, has the added bonus of providing day time peace for naps when my baby is asleep, I find it helps if you put your finger in your mouth and press down on the middle of the suction cup before applying it to the window, obviously if your too P.C for saliva use water lol and when you have pressed the Velcro together, fold down the excess so it isn't sticking out as this allows light through, I can not see where people go wrong with this, I have a TINY window and if you are patient and follow the instructions no matter how bothersome it is or unnecessary to you then it'll work on a vent if you want it to for Christ sake.Have patience and follow the instructions ???

Great product. My brother had some when his little boy was a baby and he always told me that his only piece of advice was to make sure we had black out curtains in the nursery. With this in mind I thought I'd buy some just in case we needed some when we went on holiday earlier this year.I wasn't disappointed; the quality of the blind is very good and the travel bag is handy for keeping them folded (although I didn't mange to get them back in very well). The suckers stayed up pretty well over the course of our trip, and we only had to replace the odd one every now again.I did think the product was expensive for what it is, but given that we've used them on multiple trips and they have not disappointed us I am now convinced that it was money well spent.I now wouldn't go on holiday without them.

This has to be the best £23 I’ve spent in a while! With the change in clocks my baby was waking every 30-45 minutes after going to bed until about 9pm where previously he’d been sleeping well. This arrived and was immediately put to use for his lunch nap. It was so dark in the room I couldn’t even find his dummy which I knew was in his cot!I did use this blind underneath my baby’s blackout blind but the benefits of this gro blackout blind is it allowed me to get the blind to the edges of the window and seal off the light that his roman blind let in around the edges, so with both blinds we had complete darkness. If you were wanting to use this blind without curtains or a blind it would let itfragments of light around the edges but would definitely create a much darker room than without.

We have large bedroom windows and even with blackout blinds; the room was still light when trying to put my 20 month old to bed. The gro blind is massive and has great Velcro features which enables you to adjust it to any size needed without losing any of the blackout element. And it really does blackout- it’s great! Folds down into a neat bag which will be great for travelling or sleeping out etc. The only reason why I haven’t given it a 5 is because I sometimes struggle to make some of the suction pads stick. I also broke one of the popper fastenings on the bag when I opened it so they’re perhaps not durable. But all in all it is a fantastic and useful product. It has helped my title boy sleep in too![This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
