Regarding blackout: I got the chocolate colour – dark brown. These work pretty well as blackout curtains. I can see how lighter coloured curtains will not give a good blackout effect as has already been commented on. The listing does say dark colours work better as blackout which is pretty obvious really. There is quite a lot of light bleeding around the edge of mine – but that is due to the pole length and distance from the wall. It would need to be a lot longer to stop blead around the sides, and closer to the wall to prevent bleed at the top and bottom. The curtains themselves do block the light quite successfully. See picture attached. The material is quite light (weight not colour)and only single thickness. There is no lining or second layer. Not only does this reduce any blackout effect it also means they don’t hang very well from the packet. Mine were creased in odd ways in the packet, and I suspect they will take a while to hang neatly as there is just no weight to pull them straight. The material is OK - they don’t feel amazing but they are not horrible. These are quite cheap curtains and for the price they perform well enough so I have scored them as such. If you really need heavy blackout curtains that look nice you will need to pay a lot more to get lined curtains, and you might need to reconsider the curtain pole you are using too.

i am a shift worker and sometimes work a 12 hour night shift and return home to a bedroom facing straight into the sun. i have tried many thick curtains which were a partial success but I still found sleep a problem. Then I tried plastic blackout material which worked but was such a pain to remove and refit that it was left in place making the room permanently dark.Thes curtains seem to be the answer to getting some sleep at last. Although they have the look and feel of normal curtaining they realistically stop all the light coming through, even on a really bright morning. The only small problem is that they are being used on a large window so the rail and curtains are inside the frame so light seeps through the big curtain rail holes and around the edges. The room is still the darkest i have managed to get it and they would be perfect if the window and curtain size allowed fitting with the rail above the window with some enough curtain to overlap the sides and bottom. The size of my window is not the curtain's fault so these easily earn five stars and i am looking forward to some decent sleep after next week's night shifts.

After not having curtains in my room for so long, these are great. I forgot what total darkness was like! While they do “blackout” the light from the outside, these curtains are only just wide and long enough to cover the window, therefore some light naturally leaks out from the edges. I imagine this wouldn’t be an issue so long as you buy them with enough of a buffer. For me, the size I bought was the only one that would have worked in terms of the height and length. The fabric is very light while still managing to block approximately 99% of light. Feels silky and smooth but it is not trying to imitate silk. Just very smooth. The eyelets fit perfectly and slide well on my curtain pole. The only thing is, I mounted the curtain pole a little too high so the curtain rubs against the ceiling but this is my fault for not having the foresight.Overall, I am very happy with this purchase, it has given me better sleep on a budget and although it was cheap, I wouldn’t have bought anything else unless it was far better/custom made. These curtains work and what more could I ask?

I was going to go for clip on blackout liners for my existing curtains, as I'd heard they were often more effective at blocking the light. As I have a pole and needed eyelet/ring top curtains, I opted to go for blackout curtains instead.I was impressed by the quality. They didn't have any creases in them.I bought them to block out the bright street light, which they did, but in hindsight, I should've gone for a wider curtain, so that there is more gather and more thickness which would've blocked out more light. In the end, I decided to leave my existing curtains up alongside the blackout ones. They're not as wide as two of the same stated size curtains I have. They block the light from the streetlight ok,but when the sunlight streams through direct, then they just give a warm glow, not completely black out the room. So if you want total blackout, get a dark colour blackout blind or get total, 3 pass blackout liners.Overall, I'm happy with them though, as they've done the job for me and look and feel lovely.

I bought one pair and they look great. Lightweight but very solid, good at blocking the light (although blocking the light completely is a moot point really because the light will always shine through the top and bottom of the curtains, so buying these soley for that purpose is futile). They hang nicely and actually look more expensive than they are.I made the mistake of buying another one from a different supplier. It was like day and night. They were really creased, too lightweight, and just looked shabby. PLUS it turned out they were only about £4 cheaper but only supplied ONE curtain. So I reurned them and bought another pair of Deconovo. The second pair were just as good. But this time no tie- backs were supplied. I contacted their customer service and turns out they're no longer doing tie-backs. But their support person was lovely and offered to ship the tie-backs from their Asian office if I didn't mind the wait, which was very kind. Excellent service and excellent value for money product.

I now have a set of blackout curtains for all my main windows. Most or all purchased from Deconovo. The main reason I buy blackout curtains is not to stop light getting in but to stop light getting out and to prevent people seeing in. These curtains play their role well. The quality is good. The darker the curtain the better the blackout effect, naturally.Reading reviews my impression is there are occasional buyers who receive defective curtains, which is to be expected when products are shipped in large volume.Looking at review photos it appears many people forget to buy curtains that are wider than their windows.Pleated curtains need to be at least 1/3rd wider than the window space to be covered otherwise the pleats flatten too much and the material is less blackout effective.I'm happy. Nosy neighbours find it very difficult to see whether I'm awake or asleep and they certainly can't see me or my silhouette through my curtains at night and the early hours. My neighbours are not so happy.

I'm not normally the type to leave reviews, however I love these curtains so much I feel like I need to spread the word! These were my first proper purchase as an adult, and I was incredibly nervous about spending "so much" money on curtains (previously I had used wall hangings as makeshift curtains). However not only are these curtains AMAZING at keeping my bedroom warm even after the sun has gone down, they have managed to withstand being gnawed on by my pet rats! These rats can and will chew through anything and everything in a matter of minutes, but the other day I accidentally left the curtains within grabbing distance from their cage before leaving for school for the day. When I returned I noticed that they had got hold of the curtain and I was terrified that they'd destroyed it like they had with many others, but to my amazement the curtains are so well made that the rats hardly made a dent (or I guess a hole) in the fabric!

These curtains are excellent. My landing window is right next door to the neighbours bathroom and they have no blinds up and for some unknown reason like to leave the bathroom light on all night, so our landing is bathed in light. Have put a blackout blind up along with other curtains that were supposed to blackout but the light still came through, so in desperation thought I would give these curtains a go, I have some teal ones in my bedroom and they are excellent, anyway bought these and they have been up for 3 nights now and they work, no light comes through from their bathroom and I have managed to get 3 good nights of sleep, so well done these curtains. The price was excellent, the colour is beige and matches my walls so all in all very very pleased. They were a bit creased when I took them out of the package but put the steam iron on them with a pillowcase over the top to protect them and the creases came out.

I work from home and my desk is right next to the window, so when sunshine is very bright on a sunny day, reading the monitor can be a bit hard. Meanwhile as summer is approaching the sunlight tend to wake me up early, so I decided to purchase blackout curtains to reduce the sunlight in the room. I was pleased to find this part curtains work nicely to reduce the sunlight to a comfortable level so I can sleep well, and extra bonus is they indeed have thermal control effect - I can feel the temperature difference between the two sides, so I feel cooler sitting next to the curtains. They do make the light in the room in a dark yellow tone when sunshine was very bright, which I don't particularly like - would have picked a different color if had that in mind, but they look fine when sunlight is not so bright. Overall I am very happy with this product and won't go back to my non-blackout thick curtains.

I am so pleased with these curtains. I will definitely be purchasing more in the future. Lovely deep colours and great fabric. Cant fault them at allUpdate: I now have 2 sets of these curtains and they are amazing. In the interest of “transparency” I will say both sets I have are dark coloured and thick and are black out. I see other reviews with lighter colours being more transparent which I can believe due to the fabric they use to make them. They are not made with traditional ‘blackout’ material you would go to the fabric shop and buy, it is a relatively thick fabric which when dyed with darker pigments will create the “blackout” effectI have dark blue in my bedroom and dark pink in my living room/cinema room. Having seen the other reviews of lighter colours I probably wouldn’t go any lighter than the dark pink if you want blackout. The dark blue is 100% blackout.

Successfully blocks the light that our white blackout blinds can't manage. I bought 2 sets of Dark Grey curtains 46" wide x 54" drop to cover our wide window. I didn't need to stitch together the two curtains at each side as they naturally close to keep out the light when pulled together. Easily hung on our existing pole without bending it (it does have a centre bracket, not visible in the pictures).Downside: They need a wash to get rid of the factory smell (packaging says washable at 30°) - alternatively the smell goes after 24 hours airing. The side seams make the bottom corners 'flick' out somehow - the stitching matches the curtain, but the stitches are huge.Beware of the static when ironing them!Photos shows how they look with light on (my light makes them appear patchy) and how well they work as blackout curtains (in addition to the existing 'blackout blinds).

These curtains state blackout. They do not black the room out. But I wasn’t too fussed about an entirely dark room, I just wanted to keep the room dim enough to sleep when the sun shines through. I have a south facing bedroom so at its brightest it can be. The light doesn’t wake me up and it keeps the sun out just enough. They also keep the warmth in, which will be great for the winter but is hot in summer! However they are lightweight which helps and the material looks and feels lovely. Also sturdy enough for small short windows, which is what I have. If you NEED completely blackout I would consider combining these with blinds behind. If you’re just looking for coloured curtains for aesthetic in the room and enough to keep the sunlight out, these will do! For the price I’m very happy. You need to pay upwards of £50 for complete blackout and thick material.

After reading reviews we were dubious about buying these to replace out blinds but we were so desperate to get some blackout curtains for a fair price that we took a chance and ordered them. Definitely worth the money. Not a 100% blackout as the material is quite thin as far as blackout curtains go. The black ones look great however, and we have no issue with the look or feel of the material, we're very happy in fact. The amount of light that gets through is minimal. They completely block out our neighbours security light which would shine through our window till the early hours of the morning and it blocks virtually all of the morning sun through our south facing bedroom window.Overall betterthan expected after reading the reviews and we would gladly buy another set for downstairs when we decide to decorate.

Arrived promptly. The colour was darker than expected, more gunmetal than light grey, so one star deducted for this although the colour looks fine where i am using the curtains. They have quite a soft, almost moleskin feel and drape quite well. The eyelets at the top are large enough to accept the pole I am using which was a concern as it is difficult to tell from the pictures provided. I haven't measured the diameter but I estimate around 3cm. Most importantly, they effectively block out all light. I am using them as a door curtain outside a study with glass door panels to block out light from the hall when our grandchildren are staying and this has been very successful.I have't had to wash them yet so can't comment on this aspect but, other than the cplour, I'm very happy with them.n

These arrived today for our newly decorated bedroom and WOW what a lovely set of curtains. There beautifully made and the material is really soft to the touch. There nice and thick (insulated) and when drawn they completely black out the light which is great for having an undisturbed lay in although having kids we don't get them very often ? We chose the dark grey ones and they go perfectly with our light grey walls and dark grey carpet. I'm really impressed with how nice they look and feel considering there only £24.99 which is a real bargain. If you're after a modern and understated looking pair of curtains then these will tick your boxes. I've included photos to show how nice they are. You'll not be disappointed ?PRICE: ?
