I had already researched this lens having been forced by financial necessity to part with my previous wide-angle.This one is better as it is lighter and covers a greater range so that it is not just a super-wide lens but also works well as a town and landscape walkabout. It is also in immaculate condition.The Ebay purchase was a most pleasant experience as I was dealing with a fellow photographic enthusiast rather than a cold dealer,whose price was very reasonable and his manner and communications gentlemanly in the extreme.I get very put out by the know all dealers who manipulate Ebay to pip you in the last few seconds of an auction.

Is it durable? - Hard to say at this point in time. Feels solid enough, but only time will tell.Is the image sharp - It's as sharp as I'd expect based on what I read about the lens before buying it.Considering what Pentax charge for their UWA lens, I'd suggest the Tamron is good value.I also purchased a UV filter to add protection (as I do on all my lenses) and the only other noteworthy comment is to agree with other reviewers in that the lens hood is pretty large and therefore less convenient when finding space for it in the kit bag.

The Tamron SP B001 10mm-24mm F/3.5-4.5 lens offers excellant value for money. Great quality and useability from a lens at the lower end of the price range. I purchased this lens to use on a Pentax K100D and would highly recommend it.
