The Staedtler Triplus Fineliner is one of those pens that seems like it has been around forever. It gets a lot of love from artists, students, and just about anyone who uses drawing or art pens. I finally picked up my first one last month to see what all the fuss is about. In using the Triplus Fineliner as my main writing pen for a couple of days I found it did a decent job. The color was sharp, the lines were clean, and it was an all-around good writer. Staedtler touts this pen as Dry Safe, meaning you can leave this pen uncapped for days and pick it right back up and start writing. This is normally a huge no-no for drawing pens and I wouldn’t believe it unless I saw it. Well, I saw it,and it worked as advertised. Three days later and the Triplus Fineliner wrote like I uncapped it for the first time.Overall, this is a great pen, especially for the price. Do understand though that there is a difference in tip firmness compared to other drawing pens. For me and my writing style it is not a great fit, but for many of you it will be right up your alley.

My job means that I need a versatile pen as it is needed for filling out customer details on forms as well as drawing designs for surveyors. Before owning these I was carrying 2 different types of pen, one for general paperwork and one for the drawings as most biros were not fine enough to get an accurate plan drawn and most fineliners tended to smudge,These pens work perfectly for both needs and I have actually had customers comment on how nice they are to use.The value is excellent as well, I have been using these pens for months and am only on to my second one. At less than £1 per pen I honestly don't think I could find anything as good for even double the price. The only reason I have notgiven these a 5 star rating is that they are fairly thin in general and that accompanied by the triangular design means that extended use can make my hand cramp up. Saying that though I am 6'4" and generally find most things too small for my hands anyway,

These pens were a great purchase. Firstly the speed and convenience of free one day delivery that was available on this item with a prime account or trial was excellent. But mainly this product deserves five stars due to the quality look, feel and writing performance of these lovely fineliners. They come in a stylish and compact packet. The pens are comfortable to grip due to their triangular shape which makes a big difference to the overall quality of the pen. The 0.3mm nib is just right providing a perfect size for writing and also drawing. The ink in these pens is also great as it can’t be seen through a sheet of paper and also can’t be felt.Overall, these pens may be a little more expensive than other pens from different brands you can find on amazon, but it is definitely worth it. I would recommend this product to everyone!

Great pens, able to be used quite a lot before drying out. These new ones also doesn't dry out easily with the lids off; great for those clumsy days. The only drawbacks are the tips; since i use them for normal writing, i find that the tips can recess into the metal head after a prolonged period of abuse (not talking about the "suspension" that was built in). For those interested, i often use fine-liners as pens. I find my writing style to improve and become more readable with them!! Unlike ball-point, which can "seize" after some period of non-usaege, these will pour out ink as soon as it touches paper. Compared to gel-based pens, which can smudge if you accidentally touch it before it fully dries, these dry as soon as you write the next word!!

I love these fine liners, they are my pen of choice for many projects - my diary, planner, photo albums, letters, etc. They are really comfortable to hold, write beautifully and are well worth the money. I have a set of coloured fine liners and the slightly larger nibbed set too which are ideal for colouring - especially the adult colouring books that are so popular now. They write well on photo paper too and dry quickly. I repurchase these as soon as I start to run low as I wouldn't want to be without them! The mechanical pencils in the range are also excellent and you can pick up 'compatible' replacement leads very cheaply.

LOVE THESE PENS.As I am currently undertaking my A-Levels, and am studing 4 essay based subjects, I find it increasingly difficult writing continuously and my hand always starts to cramp. That is why I started looking for a fineliner pen that would be reliable, easy to write with, and good value for money. These pens are exactly that; my hand cramps nowhere near as much as it did before and my writing speed has increased.I cannot wait to go into my exams prepared with these by my side in order to get the grade I truly deserve, and will definitely be buying these again in the near future!!

A couple of negatives I want to make people aware of. The main problem I have with this is that when I draw a quick line the tip doesn't apply ink to the paper fast enough and the line will look faint. This probably doesn't matter to most people but it does mean I have to go slower than I otherwise would. Another thing to consider is that the cap doesn't stay on the other end very well when in use. Otherwise this is a good pen, it feels good in the hand and feels smooth against paper. The ink does show through on the other side when using normal printer paper but that's to be expected

I've purchsed hundred of different fineliners and a lot of them run out way to quickly.I tend to do very detailed drawings which are pattern based and also use large paper so most pens run out half way through. One of these lasted me with no sign of running out. I liked the thickness of these and the tip as it's sturdy yet leaves a strong mark. For me this was great as I even used it to colour two lines together to make thicker lines. They dont leave any overlap marks when colouring with them. They also dry nice and smooth. Would buy again as they are also super value.

These Staedtler Triplus fineliner pens are fantastic to use. The nibs are long lasting and do not break or shatter. The black ink is a very deep black, vivid and clear. The pens last for a long time/period of use and the ink dries ultra fast on the paper and it does not flood under the edge of rulers and other drawing instruments. The nibs do not dry up when the cap is off the pen for long periods of time and always deliver a steady flow of ink. These pens are brilliant.

I like using these pens for when I am tracing sketches before transferring them to watercolour paper. The shape is far more comfortable to hold for protracted periods than a pigment liner. Its extra length allows it to be held further away from the tip too, making my lines less stilted. It is also good to know it won't dry out if I have become distracted and forgotten to replace the cap. These are well-designed pens that are pleasant to use.

I’ve been using biros for years and fancied something for writing a little neater in my diary planner. The pens write very smoothly and are comfortable to hold. I’ve only had them for a week but so far so good and I’m really pleased with how nice the ink comes out on my pages. It’s surprisingly so much more pleasant to look at than my biros. Will definitely be getting more of these when I need refills.

... Not sure if it's just this individual pen or not, but after just over three weeks of not excessive use, the lines occasionally come out a little scratchy and thinner than before. My regular paper is decent, so I've been able to just go over the line again if needed. However it goes right through my Moleskine. But then, most things do. Writing more slowly helps and overall, it's still pretty good.

Nice to write with, nice to hold, easy to vary thickness of pen tip. But I found the nib quickly flattened, leading to a bolder and bolder writing style, making my writing bigger and making it impossible to hold in another position and still get it to write.I would buy again if I can't find something similar but I preferred the old rollerball style.

You do have to hold it at a 90 degree angle so that you don't wear the nib down but it does come out really nice I was looking for a pen that would help me write better so my hand didn't ache and with the triangular barrel it's really nice to hold though the barrel is quite thin and I was looking for one with a thicker barrel

I've been looking for a replacement pen for an old ball-point that leaked all over my bag and papers. These seem absolutely perfect. The tip is small enough to accommodate my teeny-tiny handwriting, while still providing a decent-sized grip and heft. The triangular shape is an added bonus to avoid the pen rolling away.
