For years I have been using another famous brand that claim to work on every surface. As I predominantly use markers to draw on canvas I would find that with the other brand of marker I'd have to be careful not to damage the tip or to colour too hard otherwise the pen tip would become unuseable long before the ink ran out. I'm currently working on a 60x60cm canvas with these pens. I'm only on my first one out of the packet but I have managed to add lots of fine detail and I'm yet to even damage the tip - if I was using my previous brand the pen would have either dried out or the tip would be mutilated by now due to the texture of the canvas or I'd be at a point where I'm carefully having to manipulate the tip to get the lines that I need on the canvas.Even if the first pen out of the packet runs out now I would have got a lot more out of it than the previous brand. The best part is that they do a range of sized tips - I got a box of both the fine and medium.Would definitely recommend to other artists and anyone who wants a good durable marker.

I've got loads of Staedtler pens and pencils and knew it was a brand that I can trust, but never had a chance to try their permanent pens before. So when my teenage daughter asked for a set of coloured pens, I decided to get this for a change.Great quality! The tip is finer than that of Sharpie's so that's very useful. Also, the colours are strong and vibrant as you'd expect from Staedtler - even when you're writing on some smooth, slippery, plasticky surfaces. Usually with this type of pen, you get a very weak yellow - but the yellow in this set comes out strong and bright. It writes on lots of different types of surfaces, and,it's permanent. This is such a USEFUL set of pens.I am very happy with the purchase.

I got a set of the 0.6 mm nibbed permanent markers as they are just right for small potting shed plant labels and excellent for allowing me to be a bit neater when writing on C.D,R compilations ( I have literally hundreds ) that I make up to play in my trusty old car that has no Mp3 hard drive connectivity but an Mp3 disc player. You can't get better markers than these as they'll write on plastics, metals and virtually all clean carbon based materials that I have ever had the notion to scribe upon. You just find rubbishy markers on sale in the supermarkets so these are worth the price on grounds of assured legibility alone.Eamonn

I originally posted a Customer Question before I decided to buy these. I often ask Q's before I buy products, it is a brilliant way of communicating with people who actually have bought the product themselves. These Staedtler Lumocolor Permanent Pens are BRILLIANT . . . I can't think of any negatives at all !I specifically wanted Fine / 4mm . . . and have found other products that claim to be 4mm but seemed more like 5mm. These are beautifully fine and very rich colours. They dry instantly. . . so no accidental smearing !GREAT ITEM . . . DELIVERED QUICKLY . . . PACKAGED WELL . . . A+, 5*, 10/10, GOLD STAR etc..

This is the same pen my maths teacher uses to mark my papers. I can now pre mark my test paper to make my grade look better. I can now see the puzzled look on his face when he comes to my paper thinking have I marked this or not?Update : I have now got my test paper back, complete with a big A++ I had put on earlier. He has put "SEE ME" in big red letters across the top of my paper. I think he wants to congratulate me on a significant improvement in my grade.PS: when I opened the box I counted 11 pens, sorted!Update: Someone ells has counted them and says there are only 10..........Must try harder!

I'm always looking for decent pens/markers/pencils to use for carpentry/metalwork/general DIY.There's going to be a trade-off between, usability and size of line. I think these pens strike that balance very well.As you can see from the picture, it's a more precise line than the Sharpie but less than the mechanical pencil. However, this is nearly as easy to work with as the Sharpie, compared to the mechanical pencil than breaks and can be temperamental.I'll always be curious for different pens but this is one of the best I've gambled on in a while. Recommend for the tasks I do

OH MY GOD. These pens are amazing for writing with on both paper and plastic surfaces. Anyone who has a job where you need to write on Electrical Tape or similar labels will find these more accurate than a sharpie and withstand water/heat much better also. In addition when you write with these on paper it doesn't bleed through as much as a sharpie would. I love sharpies, but these pens are in a different LEAGUE!Took a while to arrive from the supplier I used but they were the cheapest so you get what you pay for I suppose. Allow 6 days for delivery.

Excellent product well worth buying. You can use drain unblocker bleach in a bucket immerse labels into the liquid and leave for about three weeks. Use rubber gloves to remove labels from the very strong bleach making sure you do not get any bleach on your hands nor your clothes, rinse in a sink of cold water, leave for 15 min utes , then run the contents of your sink away and rinse again under running water for about 5 minutes. Use an old tea towel and dry your labels, I have managed to recycle over 10,000 labels this way. No LIABILITY ACCEPTED.

These 'pens' are not your usual felt tip pen. They are, so far as I am concerned, the best that money can but for a permanent ink writing instrument that is neither a ballpoint nor a fountain pen. It is great for so many uses and the only downside, hence the four not five stars, is that the ink can smear on porous surfaces such as some types of paper or open grain wood. Then again perhaps I should have awarded five stars because I don't think this 'pen' was designed to write on thick porous paper and wood!

Be careful with these. There's no question about the quality, but they bleed quickly on paper, so if you're like me and looking for something to aid in technical drawings or detailed fine lines. I may be exaggerating, as the bleed takes the line up to around .8mm to 1mm, so unless you're looking for a seriously tight fine edge, these will still do the job wonderfully.A word on use though, the darker colours are darker than you might expect, and the brown is essentially black unless used in thicker lines.

I have used this product for years and know how good it is - instant drying and will write on almost anything, but I will not use this seller again. The product was ordered on 8th July with an estimated delivery of 13th July. Following some five emails to the seller the pens eventually arrived on 3rd August. My emails were at first ignored then answered with one word answers. So to summarise - Great product but buy it from elsewhere this seller is rubbish !!

My principal use for these is for writing on plastic lables for garden/greenhouse use. The ink attaches well to plastic and dries almost at once and has retained its colour for a season without fading. The pack of 10 is far better value then buying them singly at a local stationers, assuming that they are in stock. I keep one at each of the various places where I might use them, far easier then having just one and carrying it around and losing it.

I bought these to mark drinking glasses so that visitors would not get confused with whose glass was whose. It worked very well, but I quickly found that the marker washes off! It was obviously a misunderstanding on my part, but if you intend washing any glass you have put a lovely design on these are not the pens for you.Having said that, they are excellent for all other purposes and would have given 5 stars had it not been for the reason above.

There are lot of different makes of marker pens available and I have tried them all. I always come back to Staedtler Lumocolour (permanent and non-permanent). They have never failed me yet, except when they dry out which is inevitable. Even the case they come in is of a clever design allowing you to 'stand' the pens for easy access. Very happy with Staedtler Lumocolour and always have been! Recommended.

I bought these instead of a Sharpie because they have a finer nib and I want to write on Post Its for a home Scrum board. However they will bleed through the first Post It and come through on the 2nd. Also, don't put the Post It up on the wall first and then write on it as it will come through... stick to Sharpies for that.As for a regular permanent market, good price, 4 colours, strong case.
