I have been very impressed with this pencil set. the set contains 36 pencils with a 175 thickness, all pre-sharpened. The set contains a wide range of colours across the spectrum and these can be blended well to make further colours. The pencils themselves are very robust and sharpen well, and are presented on 3 plastic trays which stack within the tin itself. These trays can be kept to keep the set tidy, or they can be discarded and leave all pencils in a "free for all" inside the tin (depending on preference). While the pencils are not top end professional ones, they are still very good indeed and are perfect for the casual artist or for children looking to colour in books,or even teenagers looking to colour GCSE Design & technology / Geography coursework. The tin is also a nice feature to store them and is neither over the top or bland in its design.Overall this set offers great results, and great value for money and I would highly recommend it.

I have, for some years, taken to colouring (for adults) and have various books of intricate designs with which I immerse myself for hours at a time. Most are 'calming' books and all are said to be therapeutic. I have a few tens (if not hundreds) of pencil crayons (and other colouring 'pens') which I work with - so when I spotted these with the Staedtler name I thought I would give them a try.I have spent several hours working with them on two or three different designs and, frankly, I found them to be hard work when first using them. There was not an easy flow across the pages and the colours were, at best, pastel so I was disappointed BUT I HAVE PERSISTED AND, WITH USE, THEY HAVE GOT BETTER.It was as if they had some sort of coating on them which had to be worn off with use. There are a good number, in various shades, altogether in a nice tin - and I am growing to like them now.

The pencils come in a cool and chunky tin, which is a roomy and robust way to store them after purchase. The pencils themselves come in three stacked trays inside, although you could remove these inserts and have the pencils loose in the case to create a bit of room for other items. It's a really nice array of colours provided, with primary hues as well as plenty of shades in between thanks to the generous 36 colour selection. The leads have a lovely, soft and slightly crumbly, chalky texture, which is perfect for shading and light hatching.Although the canvas shoe design on the tin makes this seem like a set for schoolkids, they're great general purpose pencils for anyone who loves sketching!A versatile, robust set of art pencils for any casual sketcher. Great stuff (as you'd expect) from Staedtler.

We love Staedtler pencils in our house - these colouring pencils are the usual Staedtler quality and with 36 pencils, you get a range of shades rather than just the colouring basics. They are pretty robust, not breaking all the time like cheap pencils, but nor are they so hard that it is hard to make a mark, again like some cheap pencils. These are a delight to colour with and come in a handy tin, which is more slimline than lots of pencil tin sets - which make them easier to carry in a handbag then the big square packs, but which makes it more difficult to select just the chosen shade quickly unless it is on the top (as pencils are on top of one another.

We've been using Staedtler products for a while in our house, with both my children interested in art and my eldest taking art GCSE. This set of 36 colour pencils provides a great range of colours and hues and the quality is easy to spot from the first use. The tin is great and holds the pencils in place while ensuring that they are safe when kept in a rucksack or bag.The pencil nibs are strong and robust while still providing pastel-like shades. They tend to work better after the first sharpening when the nib has worn a bit, though, so we usually scribble a little at first to break them in as they provide more vibrant colours after this.

With 36 colours to choose from - there is a good amount of shading available between the primary colours themselves. I had a go with a colouring book, and found that there was significant depth generated in the flowers, for example, as I could use a different pencil on the layers of petals, leading towards the centre. The tin contains 3 layers, each with a tray. The top layer is red to yellow, then browns through to green, and finally blues to purple on the bottom tray. These can be taken out and arranged to help select the right shade. This is a good set, which would work well for either children or adults.

These pencils come in a smart-looking tin that is really handy for storage. The pencils are hexagonal so they are easy and comfortable to hold and to control. The leads are quite hard and it takes a bit of pressing to get a rich colour, and they are not easily blendable at first. After a while using them, however, the leads soften a little and the colour becomes brighter and easier to blend. People looking for great blending effects, however, will want to invest in more expensive pencils. Overall this is a good value pack of pencils that will work well for those looking to achieve basic effects in colouring.

Are there really 36 names for colours ~ just how many rainbow threads are there? This gorgeous tin of coloured pencils from Staedtler is a treasure for any artist young or old.The therapeutic benefits of colouring have long been explored in the past few years though those of us old enough to remember the joy brought with the Christmas colouring book will remember the actual magic of Christmas day (pre telly) reading the latest annual that often included colouring in pages ~ Rupert especially!!So open your tin and revel in the phantasmagoria at your fingertips

Our children love to draw, colour and create with various types of media....this set is a very welcome addition to their creation station. It comes in a handy tin with three layers of colouring pencils. You get 36 colouring pencils with a wide variety of colours, not just repeats of the same colour over again. The pencils are well made and do not snap at the first use like some cheaper versions. You get quality made pencils that produce lovely colour combinations. The set has given and will continue to give hours of fun and creativity for both of our children.

This is a set of 36 coloured pencils, with a nice range of colours (no duplicates) presented in a traditional tin. The pencils have a neat sharp point, which makes them ideal for the detailed designs in colouring books for grown ups. The point is quickly restored when needed as the pencils sharpen well with a quality sharpener. The colours themselves are attractive and work well together. Although not quite a blendable as some brands, the pencils perform well for most tasks and will suit the average user very well.

Staedtler pencils are usually of good quality, and these are no exception; this is a a nice set of 36 coloured pencils which are well-made and don't have leads that break as soon as you drop them even a small distance (which is often the case with cheaper pencils). They sharpen well, and are proving long-lasting. What's nice is that they come in a decent metal case in which they can be stored between uses, meaning that they are all in one place and don't get lost or broken. Pleased.

This is a good set of 36 coloured pencils which are well made and come in a wide range of colours and shades. The pencils come in a convenient case which holds all 36 and makes them easy to find. We have used them for colouring by numbers (where the different shades really do work well) and for sketching at they are fine for both these things. The pencils are easy to sharpen.

Good quality decent colouring pencils for kids, or anyone who likes to draw and colour at any age. These are not watercolour, just regular colouring pencils but very reliable and give a strong decent colour. They don’t break easily, sharpen well, and this set includes plenty of colours in 3 layers within the tin - so easily and neatly stored.

This is a very nice set of colouring pencils that represent great value. There is a nice range of colours. The pencils are quite soft and allow for some blending. They sharpen well and feel quite robust. These are by no means professional grade drawing pencils, but for the casual artist or kids these would represent a great buy.

Good sturdy box, a magnificent collection of every colour imaginable. My grandchildren loved the variety they were very impressed with it! Each layer and I believe there are 4 layers, are colour separated like rainbows so you can lay them out on a table within their separate trays and choose what you want. Excellent
