I've attached a photo. The left one is the old gel pen and the right one is this fountain pen.It's not capturing properly on the photo but the writing is very thin. It uses very little ink for a dull looking colour.This is because this pen's nib is actually an FP one. "Fine point" = Very thin writing.Other kinds of nibs that we have in market are:M Nib = Medium nib = Neutral nib = Neutral thickness.B Nib = Broad Nib = much thicker writing (this will appear more bold and stronger color)This pen has a wrong description which states that this is a medium nib. That is why I bought this pen. However, this isn't a medium nib. As soon as you receive the pen check the box. It will say "FP" which means fine point = thin nib.

I previously purchased a parker rollerball (sonnet) around £40 - great pen but the refill are not as good quality - very scratchy. I was also gifted a waterman (also a great quality pen around the same price as the Parker) but only fine refills sold. I took a punt on this pen and was pleasantly surprised. The pen is at the budget end but has a nice weight, size, quality finish, and the cartridge is of a better quality than the Parker and Waterman - it writes smoothly and is the best of those tried to date. The lid firmly clicks into place - and holds onto the top of the pen although it doesn't click into a firm position but certainly isn't loose.

Used for college, I find this pen to be easy to grip and a pleasure to write with; Ink flow is smooth and reliable once the pen has been used for a while.The pen does tend to get through ink, though I do have a fairly intensive use case, with one universal cartridge lasting 2-3 days of note writing.The pen has also proved to be hardwaring, with me having dropped it in stones and it being left for 1-2 days;When retrieved, there were only small surface scratches.

This pen offers excellent quality for the price. It comes well presented in a gift box with 2 ink cartridges in the bottom of the box. The pen has a weighty feel to it without being too heavy and writes beautifully. I didn't discover the ink cartridges in the bottom of the box immediately so inserted a WH Smith one which is a perfect fit. Can't recommend this pen enough for those wanting a low cost quality fountain pen.

I should have read some of the earlier reviews, as this is not a fountain pen, but a cartridge pen. Having said that, it fulfils the purpose for which I bought it. I haven't yet tried to buy any cartridges to replace the two that it came with, so I don't know how difficult that will be, but it rights very nicely and the first cartridge has lasted a while.

Bought as part of my daughter's birthday present - her son has just started using a fountain pen at school and she must have got Pen Envy as she wanted one too !. This is a nice pen to hold and use from the well known Sheaffer brand, and uses Universal rather than brand specific cartridges, so much easier to obtain and cheaper to buy. She loved it !

Elegant pen, which writes well with excellent ink flow, in my experience.Light in hand it has a quality stainless steel MEDIUM nib that soon 'bends' to your style of writing.Presented in a cardboard box, it is a timeless classic that is 'Vibrant, Fun and Modern'.

Very nice pen. I took unto account the review stating that there was no cartridge with this product and ordered two as a result. On receiving it I found there IS one; but it is inside the presentation box clipped away. So, a cartridge does come with this item.

Buying sheaffer you know what you will get, quality every time. Grip is good as there is a 'lip' at the bottome of the black part of the pen preventing your fingers from sliding all the way down the pen. Delivery was excellent. Would recommend every time.

This pen is just what I was after - a nice thin nib that's easy to write with. Looks fancy without breaking the bank! Only complaint is that the colour isn't 'excessive red', it's more of a dull tomato red colour - still nice but not what I was expecting.

The pen is fine. The problem is with the refills pack shown - Black ref: 96330. These are the wrong refills for his pen - they're too big. The correct refills should be Black ref: 93090. Unfortunately, these are difficult to find in the UK.

This is an excellent fountain pen, it is medium weight, well balanced and very smooth to write with. This is just the pen you need if you do a lot of writing with a fountain pen. Easy installation of ink cartridges.

Bought for sons 12th Birthday to use at school as his old one had broken. He assures me that it is a lovely pen, easy to write with and looks smart too. I had it engraved and it looks really posh.

Very nice quality feel about this pen and for £9.00 its excellent value.Quite slim and a nice smooth feel to it, writes beautifully but I would recommend a fine tip as the medium is quite bold.

I bought this product as a gift and ordered it particulary because it came with a refill but refill is missing. I am unable to return it because it is a leaving gift and I need it for Monday.
