As others have said, this is the German version.Yes. The box and instructions are in German. The game itself contains no words so if you download the instructions in English you're good to go. Theres some slight variation in some of the resources (pineapples instead of molasses for example), but other than that it plays the same.You can download English instructions in pdf format on the official Catan website. We ordered the game and had instructions printed before it arrived so no problems there at all.A great game and the fact the instructions are German shouldn't deter you from buying it.The game itself is great. Easy to play, a nice blend of luck and strategy.

My 6 year old twins love it.Gameplay is about 30 mins a game. Easy to play (not snakes and ladders easy).Bought this because the "English" version is £60 and the German one is £28 !The Board and Pieces are all pictures - NO TEXT (so only the instructions need getting - from catan.com)Two cosmetic differences - pineapples instead of molasses (and how many kids know what molasses are anyway) and a Pirate Parrot (cuter) instead of a Ghost Pirate.

This product is fantastic - it is well made, and pretty and perfect for kids - my boys are 7 and 10 and they love playing - be warned though - the instructions are not in English...however, it is relatively simple to find them online and print off a copy - can be enjoyed a s a 2P games, but best played with 3 or 4!
