Fitted to my lads Carrera MTB which is used every day on paper round and then in weekdays for two mile trip to school and back.He was getting punctures once or twice a week - picking up shrapnel on his round and thorns on the backtrack to school. We got so good at replacing inner tubes on rear wheel that we could enter timed events. But now - that's a thing of the past. Chose this specific one as it has that little strip of shielding - and in the last six months not a single puncture. We're so out of practice at fixing inner tubes we're going to have to retire gracefully and hand the timed event trophy back! But on the bright side - that's a good thing.Already mentioned about these to some poor unfortunate soul outside Asda fiddling about with a puncture repair kit.Hope he saw the light too.

The 'Tour' version of the Marathon plus is a great puncture resistant tyre for those who ride touring bikes or hybrids where you ride a lot on broken surfaces and shallow mud like towpaths or trails that don't have an asphalt or concrete surface . It has a slightly more aggressive tread pattern than the standard marathon plus, which is more road biased. It is not a mountain bike tyre so no really suitable for deep mud or serious off-roading or MTB trails. Its puncture resistance is legendary and on the bike that I have these on have only ever had one puncture (a 3 inch nail) in several thousand miles of cycling. They are a tyre that is very wear resistant and I usually get about 4-5000 miles out of a tyre.

Schwalbe Marathon Plus in this size are not at all common yet but having used them for 40,000 miles on another bike I was determined to find them somewhere. And here they are, look no further, and look at nothing else if you want a virtually puncture-free life. In this size (27.5 x 2.1) they almost fell onto the rims, no aid from tyre lever necessary.Update: I bought a pair of these 2 years ago ago and have just replaced the rear @ 10,000 miles. The front looks set to do nearly that again. I would still most definitely not use anything else.

Difficult to evaluate immediately after the purchase a puncture-proof tire. After 3 outings no punctures, this is already good news. No problem for mounting, it is hardly stiffer than a standard tire and attaches very well with the basic tooling. On the other hand big disappointment for the grip in muddy ground compared to Michelin "mud". They leave very easily sideways in a bend or on a side elevation. It's very dangerous. It may be necessary to deflate a little. On the rest of the surfaces, can be noisy for ATV tires. To be continued...

It has a reflective strip along the sidewall for additional visibility when riding at night. The tire weighs almost 3 and a half pounds, but it is a thick tire. I also installed two tire liners for extra flat protection. This is as close as I can get to an airless tire. I cannot find a 29 inch airless mountain bike tire. I have ridden 1,200 miles without a flat. My bike is my transportation so reducing the chance of flats when commuting to work and hauling home refrigerated and frozen food is of the utmost importance to me.

Comfortable ride, but very very difficult to put on and seat the bead. Pinched a tube in the process and had to redo. Having to deal with that if you get a flat while out riding would be a thoroughly unpleasant experience. These tires are too expensive to be worth the trouble.>>>HOWEVER, UPDATE> several months later and I removed and reinstalled the tire without diff. Seems that with time/use the beads may have stretched/settled in making it much relatively easy to remove and reinstall. .

After initially installing the Schwalbe Super Moto as standard, I switched to the Rapid Ron for better grip in winter and on dirt roads. If I had problems with rather frequent flat feet on the Super Moto, the Rapid Ron was the worst case. Every second gravel seemed to break through. So back down and the Marathon Plus MTB in 57 mm width. No more problems since then. Tire offers great grip, is very quiet, hardly any rolling noise and apparently actually puncture-proof.

I've worked through a few tires, and these are more durable and puncture resistant than normal (no flats yet!). They still offer good traction on gravel trails as well as pavement even when leaning through the turns. I like the more solid center strip for quiet/smooth rolling on pavement, and that's where the most durability is needed. The only problem I had was that it was hard to get a uniform seat on the bead all the way around.

Best bike tires I have ever ridden on. Sure, maybe not the lightest out there. And probably not the best for making crazy downhill riding videos to post online. But for the majority of us that ride neighborhoods and the occasional light trail with our families, you can’t beat this tire. Smoothest and quietest I’ve ever had on an MTB with a good balance of traction when you need it, and have never gotten a flat. Worth every penny.

Bought a pair of these for my bike. The tires that came with the bike are made overseas and are pure junk! They are so flimsy that when I removed them from the bike they couldn't maintain any semblance of circular. Anyhow, side by side comparison, it was obvious the difference in quality. I already got a couple of hundred miles these tires and am very satisfied so far. I believe I will have many happy hours of biking...

These are so much safer for me than my regular Schwalbe Marathons since I ride on dirt and gravel shoulders and trails on my commute. I averaged 437 miles per flat on my Marathons over 3,500 miles and I have 469 miles on these tires without a flat so I am happy so far. They give a smooth feel on pavement like regular Marathons but without slipping in dirt and gravel. I will use these as long as I commute by bicycle!!!

The tire is great on asphalt roads or hard dirt trails that I had it on. I will ride my bike with my wife riding her horse. Some trails get rough. In the past, I average about 1 flat every 6 weeks with Bontrager XR2 tires. Have not has a flat since I installed this tire. Hopefully this tire will continue to break the pattern of getting flats. Only negative was the long delivery timeframe. Would recommend.

Been running Bontrager XR2 tires. They are nice but after a couple of years they were getting worn and picking up thorns. Researched this NO FLAT Schwalbe Marathon plus tire. Not cheap but reasonable and the anti flat construction makes sense. Tire looks good, rides great, and was much easier to install that I had expected after reading reviews. THE FLATS -- We will have to see how that works out!

After a few months of commuting, the studs of the speedking on the rear tire were gone and the soft rubber punctured twice a week. Therefore the choice for this schwalbes. Slightly less comfort and much less grip, but run much smoother and with less noise. The hardness of the rubber is very promising, although I am shocked by the wear after a few weeks. Have laid down smoothly.

I have been driving for 3 years now, 20 km almost daily with these tires and have never had a flat tire. I replace them annually because they wear out quickly, but if you know that you are leak-proof, it is no problem. I drive it until the blue protective layer becomes slightly visible. Very satisfied. I also bought these tires for the other bicycles at home
