First up, I don't really feel like I'm "Becrazy!"ing (Beingcrazy?) when using this pen. I guess a fountain pen with a rollerball tip is a bit crazy but the pen essentially has the look and feel of a mid-price (whatever that means) rollerball pen which isn't going to turn heads.Stabilo make very high quality pens though, like their fineliners, highlighters, and so on. This feels a bit cheap compared to those, even though it's more expensive per unit. Go figure.Anyway - I found the idea of a refillable rollerball intriguing, and it is exactly that. It writes like a fountain pen in writing style, that is to say, someone looking at your writing after the fact would be led to assume you used a (non calligraphic)fountain pen to write with. If that's your aim here, then this is your ideal product. For me, the ink flowed a little too freely, I found it hard to write "small", exactly as you would with a fountain pen I guess. So what's its purpose? I'm not entirely sure. From an ecological perspective, well, if you can manage to keep it long enough to pay back for the money or plastic you can save from not buying disposable pens, maybe. However pens do tend to get lost, and I'm not really sure of the overall environmental impact of lost disposable ballpoint pens. I don't think anyone ever throws them away, they just...well it's one of life's mysteries isn't it? Where do they go?Anyway, rambling aside, I suppose it will leak less in a pencil case, I suppose it's a curiosity, but what does it offer over a fountain pen? Ease of writing maybe? What does it offer over a disposable ballpoint? Comfort I guess. However it's difficult to justify why you'd buy one other than impulse or fun, which maybe is enough.

Looking at the packet I saw two refill cartridges and thought that this is a fountain pen. Then I looked at the nib and thought it's a ballpoint. It's neither. It's a pen I've not seen before, it's a refillable rollerball. There are in fact three full ink cartridges, all of them blue. The third is in the barrel of the pen. There is also an empty dummy cartridge fitted. I guess this is so the pen won't leak in transit. Connecting the ink cartridge is done using the same method as for a cartridge fountain pen. One cartridge is placed at the back end of the barrel, the other is placed at the nib end of the barrel, the barrel is tightened up and punctures the cartridge seal at the nib end.The pen needs a bit of scribbling to get the ink flowing on first use. The pen writes like a rollerball. The light blue of the ink supplied reminds me of fountain pen ink and I find it a very pleasant blue. The pen is light in weight. Mine has matte blue barrel. There is a slight tooth to the feel of the barrel. It is not grippy and it is not slippery smooth. It feels a bit like a smooth cotton texture. Removing the cap, there is a silicone, grippy collar where the fingers grip the pen. The pen is a nice width to hold, it is not too thick nor is it too thin. The cap clicks home with a firm push. This is a nice pen to write with. It is not heavy, it feels a lot lighter than it looks. I particularly like the tone of the blue ink supplied which is not dissimilar to the blue of the barrel. It writes like a rollerball but the ink makes the writing looks like it's written with a fountain pen.

DescriptionStabilo BeCrazy is a colourful range of pens well suited to the fashion conscious teenager. I received a BeCrazy Rollerball Pen with three blue ink cartridges … two in the packet and another hidden inside the pen (this is in addition to the empty cartridge which also in the pen). The Good:• This range has a good choice of colours• The pen is refillable and takes standard sized ink cartridges (even the very cheap ones)• Easy to use and suitable for left and right handed people• This fairly chunky pen feels comfortable in the hand and is a pleasure to write with thanks to its soft grip area along the barrel.• Writes really well and the ink flows nicely and evenly.• 0.5mm medium nibwhich suits me fine (I am not a lover of fine nibs … they always feel a bit scratchy to me)• The ink dries quickly.• There is room inside the pen for a spare cartridge, which is a great feature especially if you do a lot of writing. The Bad• The ink provided is a little too light for me … I prefer a darker blue or a black ink.• Some people may prefer a slimmer barrel. In summing upThis rollerball is good value, writes nicely and comes in a range of colours. It is easy to refill and you can purchase the easy to find ink cartridges in many different places.

I really like this type of pen (rollerball), much preferable to standard ballpoints which tend to sometimes leave a smear where ink has built up, and additionally (if not used for a while) shaking vigorously, or running across paper until ink flows. The amount of ballpoints I've thrown away.......!!This one is really good, seems quite strong and well-made, but does seem a touch flimsy. I think though I just expected it to be heavier! It doesn't seem as though it will break easily. The pen is quite comfortable to hold, with a nice rubbery grip.I ummed and ahhed for a moment before an overall 4 or 5, since the packaging isn't very informative, and somewhat confusingly the product information states the ink as being erasable....I tried an eraser, and it isn't! To be fair though, why would you want to? The good thing is that the ink doesn't smudge, and flows freely and smoothly. Most of this type of pen are disposable, which is a bit wasteful. This reminds me of my old cartridge pens as a kid, and the pen comes with 3 x cartridges, with refills available for £3.99 for a pack of 12 - so a really good choice, and of course Stabilo is a good and long established brand!

Why is this pen being advertised as being for sporty urbanites? I am an unfit country bumpkin and can still use it! The most difficult thing about this pen is trying to get it out of its packaging. It's one of those cardboard fronted hard plastic backed affairs, I'm afraid. But after the usual wrestling match you can unravel the pen, the cap, and two ink refills. It is the easy to pop the parts together. The one I got wouldn't write at first as the ink barrel inside was empty. Presumably the one you get will have a full one as the description on the pack says 3 ink refills. You then get an easy to hold roller ball pen that gives the rather sophisticated impression of being an old style ink pen. It's great for doing signatures! I'm a left hander but found no difficulty in writing with this pen as the barrel is nice and soft. There is also no blotting or scratching along the surface of the paper. It's a good pen, but I wish it came in a box for holding the spare refills in.Ha! I've just found the third refill stuck up the barrel!

The pen is incredibly light in weight and has a nice soft-grip coating, and with the cap re-attached to the top I find it perfectly balanced. All of which makes writing for long periods very comfortable. The nib glides over paper nice and smoothly, and the ink is dispelled evenly with no blotches. It does this at a right angle or upside down. New it comes with 3 cartridges, and while one is in use, a spare can be conveniently stored within the body of the pen itself. the cap attaches snugly over the nib providing confidence that it is unlikely to accidentally come off while in a pocket or bag. So all in all a pretty fine rollerball pen..... But it loses a star because, despite all it positive points,it has nothing that really raises it or differentiates it over other similar rollerballs.....other than a somewhat higher price point which I can't quite see or feel in the pen. At cireca £4 rather than £8 it probably would have received 5 stars from me

In a throwaway society such as ours it's refreshing to find products built to last. Or at least, to last three times longer than the standard issue biro pen in this case. The product sent to me for review was the STABILO becrazy ball point pen in the blue inked option. the pen comes with 3 cartridges, keep the other two safe because I'd expect them to last a while before they need changing. The carriage clicks into place much like a fountain pen and I found it to be a simple and quick process. The pen is smooth and writes well, I will be buying further items from this range for my teenage son for his homework. I'd send them to school but I doubt they'd come back!He is left handed and found this pen to be true to its marketing of suitability to both left and right handed users

This is the pen to get in the Be Crazy range if you want a Rollerball you can refill with cartridges. Some designs in the range are novelty/child-friendly but this is a proper grown-up design with a nice matt rubbery coating.I use mine with Waterman carts and it writes very well indeed. Alternatively, the shorter carts are very cheap indeed (but not as opaque). It doesn't like the long Parker Quink carts, though. Is now my favourite pen after using a Parker for decades. Even my MD came to sign something and said "Can I use your posh pen?".A PROPER bargain at the time of writing. I've been though 6 carts over several months and it's still writing fine.It seems to be listed with 3 carts here

Here's a peculiarity - a rollerball pen powered by standard cartridges. As a sworn fountain pen user, I really didn't understand the concept. I use fountain pens as I don't like the blotting that inevitable comes with biros or other disposable pens. Bizarrely, this is part of the reason that this pen works. Because it's using ink cartridges, the flow of ink is consistent and it produces a nice finish. Additionally, I can aSo change the colour easily. My only criticism, is that it does feel a bit scratchy, although this may disappear as the pen is worn in. The nib itself, is the one bit of the pen that looks cheap - looks like the end of a bit biro, but overall, I'm pleasantly surprised.

This Rollerball has a medium (05mm) nib and comes with three ink cartridges. You simply unscrew the pen, push the cartridge inside until you hear a little ‘click’ which means it is correctly inserted and the ink will flow. You can also store one extra cartridge inside the pen. The ink cartridge is quite bright, although the ink colour does fade slightly once it dries. The pen itself is also quite bright, with a wide, silver clip and is chunky. It feels comfortable to hope, but it is not particularly stylish. It obviously depends upon your own taste, but I did not find this particularly pleasing in style, although it worked perfectly well.

Why has nobody come up with this idea before? Most of us have a pen we love and of course, you can buy a pack of rollerball pens but in this age of recycling and not wasting, this is a great idea. The packaged pen comes with three standard-size ink cartridges in erasable royal blue ink, one stored inside the pen which you will need to fit, and two spares, so this is going to last a long time.My free sample for review is in pale turquoise and white, but there are many colours to choose from.I also checked and Amazon sells a pack of 12 refill cartridges. Just don't lose the pen! Search for STABILO Ink cartridges Blister of 12 Blue.

With the amount of ballpoint pens we throw away, this rollerball with replaceable ink cartridges sounds like a good idea. Yes, you still have to throw away the cartridge, but it's much less plastic. The pack comes with one ink cartridge installed and 2 spare, all blue. It's easy to replace the cartridge and there's no mess or fuss. The pen is really comfortable to use and writes smoothly. It's a great pen for writing sideways on the shopping list on our fridge and for writing clearly on forms (as long as they don't need black ink!).The set is great for the price and the quality of the pen makes this easy to recommend.

This is the second Stabilo beCrazy! Rollerball that I've had. I still remember somebody at school (a long time ago) having a similar style pen; like a rollerball but taking standard ink cartridges the way a fountain pen does. I was never able to find anything similar until recently, when I discovered the Stabilo pens. The cartridges might not last as long as new-style ink refills, however they're that cheap to buy that it makes sense to buy one of these. The pen writes beautifully. I'm left handed, so always struggled with fountain pens at school, however not the case with this pen. I can highly recommend it.

THis is a very nice, smart pen. It comes with three ink cartridges. When writing it is amazingly smooth, somehow much smoother and easier than a normal ballppoint pen. IT really is rather special for writingIt really could benefit from some brief instructions. Inside the pen is a dummy or empty carthridge with one full one fitted behind it. To get the pen writing you have to take the full cartridge out and fit it in front of the empty one and then reinstall the two. Pretty simple really but based on my experience an awful lot of people will have trouble working this out. Trust me on this.

This is a lovely pen to write with but for the cost it feels cheap and doesn't look that great. I do like the ink flow, the rubber grip, the nice fat lines it produces (not overly fine like fountain pens) from the rollerball and it is easy to change the ink.But for a pen that is marketed as "beCrazy!" it is very bland (pastel turquoise) and safe! It is very light, and I feel like it will break easy if it falls off my desk and is stood on.Would I recommend, yes for the quality and comfort but only if it was a tad cheaper...plus how much are the refills?!?!
