Compared to the older RIL50 this one has 12 leds on the inspection light and also has a flashlight on top with 1 stronger led.And also seems to be splash, dust and oil proof which is a big improvement.Has a rubber like texture to touch, very good grip. Its a lot brighter than RIL50 and with the flashlight on top neutralizes the need to have both inspection lamp and torch separately in the glove box.Very light in weight considering it holds 3xAAA batteries (supplied inside the lamp already) and still has the strong magnet inside the pocket clip that can hold the full weight of it, swivel pocket clip rotates so you can easily point the light exactly where you need it.One button on the front to switch between light modes: 1-flashlight,2-inspection lamp and 3-off (works in this order)Just make sure you are not looking at any of the leds while switching modes, it will blind you for a while. It may eats through the supplied batteries quickly (as they can be old), but after that i used Varta hi-power batteries and they hold in it quite a long time (according to manufacturer batteries should hold around 7hours)Hard to say how many lumens it has, but inspection light is amazingly bright would guess at least 100lumens (compared to a 105lumens flashlight)Great for camping, home, car, toolbox, emergency kit, but too bulky for EDC pocket carryWeight: 70g with supplied batteriesSize LWD (not including pocket clip): 17cm x 2.1cm x 3cmSingle units are not supplied in a box or any packaging, only with a barcode labelHighly recommending both RIL52 and RIL50 torches (RIL50 is about half the price), even many car mechanics i visit are using one of these

This penlight is actually very good. Although the torch is not too bright, it is very useful for close up work and you can read with it. The side light however is very bright and there is a magnet built into the pocket clip which you can use to direct the side light. The only possible downside is the switch is a bit hard to press even though it is not a problem for me. You can't switch it on or off by accident. It uses 3AAA batteries and it would probably run on rechargeable batteries with virtually no problems. For the little extra this one costs, you get the added bonus of a torch which will use less power and sometimes a torch beam is more suitable for the job in hand.As a work light or home use or even camping, it is more than suitable for it's purpose.

This has all the makings of one of those useful little gadgets for which you find many uses. It is pocket or handbag size so easy to carry. In use it is the flat, multiple LED part that is most useful as the front torch beam is a bit weak for anything other than showing a couple of metres ahead. However, it suited our six-year-old granddaughter admirably for finding the way to a candlelit Christmas carol service and the flat part illuminated a couple of hymn books. As it has disappeared after just three days, I have a suspicion it is being used under-blanket late night reading which probably disproves my only gripe that the switch is a little hard for small fingers. If it ever returns,it will almost certainly be excellent for use around the car too.

An excellent compact inspection light. Not really any advantage over the RIL50 other than the torch feature which works okay but isn't very bright, but might save your batteries if you don't need the full inspection lights. You have to cycle through torch, inspection, off each time and the switch ic on the side below the inspection light window. The inspection light itself is bright and even, much better than my old mains rechargeable from a tool supplier, but isn't noticeably brighter or better than the smaller RIL50 which is also excellent. The pocket clip is both magnetic and swivels through 180 degrees which is excellent for working hands free. Sturdy and we'll made. Unbelievable value.

This is my go to torch now, no longer do I use the corded one I hard which was large and cumbersome. This is easy to use and gives great light in areas where you might not get a normal torch in. Added bonus of 2 different types of lights one at the top and then the main strip. Battery seems to last forever (AA) and the magnetic clip is also handy.

very bright. good all round item and a clear, clean floodlight of LED brightness from the main unit. The torch at the end sometimes blinds you though because of the position of the on button and because it cycles through from off to torch to main light to off.

I recommnd this handy light. Since I bought it its helped me a lot in my day job. I have a magnetic work light, problem is I always leave it stuck somewhere. This one I can clip to my clothes so I never leave it behind. Its very bright and worth the money.

good small pocket torch with the 12 LED's a little brighter than the standard pocket lamp but a little largerthe need for a double press to get to the main LEDS can be a little frustrating as the first press is for the LED on the top

For a tiny little pen light with only 8 bulbs, this is brighter than the ones we have with 16 and 24 bulbs. It is ideal for almost any purpose. You honestly don't need a big torch if you have this...

Good strong light but magnetic hold not great. Ok for working in specific areas but not good if you want to cast light over a wider area. Considered good value for a fiver.
