Strictly speaking, this is a half-bottle decanter. It's not big enough to 'properly' decant a full bottle of wine - it doesn't have enough space for the desirable amount of air above the wine. However, it suits me perfectly because I don't decant in the old-fashioned way - I aerate my wines through a wine shower funnel from the bottle into the decanter, and pour the first glass within five minutes.Riedel are extremely professional. By and large, their products don't create problems in the home. A decanter like this one is light and easy to hold and fits into a cupboard easily. It feels good in regular use, just as their glasses do. Not perfect, but good enough.

I bought this decanter as a present which the recipient was delighted with. The Crystal is thin and delicate so I do hope it wears well. I thought it was a little on the small size but it does hold a full bottle of wine.

Great value simple decanter-takes a standard bottle of wine. Dishwasher safe.
