After one glass jug casualty thanks to pouring boiling water inside it (RIP jug) I decided to hunt for something a little sturdier. I love making my own flavoured ice tea at home so needed something that was strong, substantial, easy to clean and still the right size fit in my narrow fridge at home. This one seemed like a solid choice after reading some more than glowing reviews.Arriving very well-packaged, I was eager to rinse it out and start using it right away. Although it isn't recommended, I was able to pour boiling water straight out of the kettle into it with no issues at all - as mentioned, my previous jug shattered when coming into contact with such temperatures. Which was pretty impressive! It does feel heavy when full as it is quite weighty even when empty, but isn't an issue for myself. It fits in the door of my fridge perfectly & ready for use whenever I need it. When finished, it's easy to throw (not literally) into the dishwasher and comes out sparkling clean.Ideally I'd like the handle to be fully connected in order to make it feel fully secure when full, though I haven't had a problem with it so far. The lid can also be fiddly to remove and doesn't make the vessel fully airtight, so I'd recommend putting cling film or a cover on top when storing your beverages.I'd recommend this jug to anyone making their own drinks, teas and juices at home - this jug is much stronger than others I've tried, won't shatter or crack, holds plenty and can easily be washed in the dishwasher with no hassle. The price is excellent for what you get and can't be beat.

I was fed up with using plastic jugs for water as they leave an often awful plasticy taste. So based on the reviews here already, I got this glass jug. It's a great jug. A good size, sturdy, dishwasher proof. And having the little lid is also really useful as a lot of glass jugs do not have that. You do have to make sure the lid is on firmly. And you occasionally do get a little spill if it's not. But for me this is not a problem it doesn't happen often. So you just wipe the underside if that happens. If you're hand washing it you'll maybe need a thin washing up brush as the neck is slender. But as I only use it for water - I just (when hand washing) rinse it through with hot soapy water.Really like it and am about to order another.I far prefer drinking water from glass jugs to plastic. If I had one criticism - it would be that I'd prefer a larger top. Something rectangular akin to the shape of the plastic fridge jugs you can get. But this might not be possible to do with glass. I've certainly seen no examples like that anyway.

When Amazon invited me to write feedback on a jug, I thought 'It's a jug. What more can you say?' But I like a challenge. At first glance those who are unfamiliar with the BHL range of Fridge Jugs may imagine that the design is flawed by the somewhat flimsy looking handle. They would be wrong. This is one of the sturdiest jugs you will find. It feels and is thick, solid, and durable. This is a jug that lasts; a man's jug. Moreover, it is a design classic. Whether you fill it with orange juice, iced water, or cocktails it will grace your table with a delightfully appropriate look. Personally I prefer to leave the lid off, but that's a matter of taste and fancy. The options are simply limitless!Provided you define 'limitless' as two.If I were to buy another jug (and I already have two), I would definitely buy this jug. Man alive, it's a good jug.

We use these jugs to store milk, but like everyone else we have found the lid don’t seal correctly therefore it dribbles a lot when pouring all over the place.I had initially wrapped numerous wraps of PVC electrical tape on the inside of the lid and it worked, buy it Isn't sanitary, therefore I found food grade o-rings (sourced from Amazon) which has solved the problem. The link below are the o-rings that I use, and you need to hold the o-ring against the lip when inserting into the jug, but once the lid is pushed on it seals well and no more leaks ?https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PTB1YYB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I looking into another way to resolve the dribbling lid which may be better still, but these o-rings work very well, and they’re also cheap.

This is good but too heavy for me personally. I tried filling it less to help me put but it was still too heavy until only one third full. At that point I decided to buy a smaller one. I originally bought the 1.7. That said, the smaller one I bought was a completely different brand and item so I cannot then leave a review here about that item. When I poured a drink out from this jug I have to admit, it went all over the work top. I tried pouring slower, same thing. So I also couldn't get the hang of pouring a drink without having to wipe up a mess after. As I have this trouble with some other items such as some tea pots and kettles I am inclined to think ot is down to how I use these thingsthat the things themselves maybe?!

I use it as a decanter for 2 pt poly-bottles or bags of semi-skimmed.The jug is not pretty but it does a great job - it is slim, quite tall and holds 2 pints with ease.Unlike poly-bottles it will not leach out smelly chemicals. It is easy enough to clean with a bottle brush, I tend to wash then rinse with hot water and park it upside down for a few hours.I find that the milk stays fresher for longer than the three days recommended by the poly-bottles and those new bags. Remember to keep the fridge temperature down to 2-5 degrees. It is a 'clean pourer' but will dribble occasionally.Better than a "Jugit"? yes, I think so.Hope it helps...:-)

Excellent quality for price....very well safely packaged ....white plastic top can only be opened when turned towards the handle so top doesn't drop off when pouring.....pours ok....we have spring water which has to be boiled at the moment and great for transferring from the kettle (warm not hot) to cool down ready for the fridge (have to make this operation easier...but at the low price this is no problem...water looks and tastes much better than from similar non glass jug....also it is not overly heavy so is surprisingly light when full and easily carried with the glass handle only joined at one end but strong!

I ordered this and subsequently realised it would not arrive on time for my daughter's birthday! I wrote to the company straight away, and they assured me it would arrive on time - the jug arrived the very next day! That's proper customer service for you - the jug itself is lovely - large enough that I got several glasses out of it, but it still fits in the door of my fridge. It has a vintage look about it (without the plastic lid - which is handy as it stops the liquid spilling but you turn it round and then you can pour).I'm chuffed with this jug, and even more so for the amazing service I received. Thank you!

Every day use of drinking water, refilled daily. What I like:I put nearly boiling water in it to cool down and drink, it didn't crack so far.I must say it's quite sturdy as I have been quite rough with it when putting it away as it's heavy when full (need two hands), and still not cracked even with a "clink" sound when putting it down.It cleans easy. What I don't like:I live in place with hard water (not fault of the jug) and it gets lime scale quickly. The plastic part - lid, isn't great for pouring water out, water leaks from different directions even when trying to fill glass of water with small stream.

Firstly just ignore the foolish comment about it leaking. The jug has a lip for liquid to flow "correctly" from. The purpose of the lid is to cover the top, keeping dust out the water, i.e.. no splashes escaping. If the top was supposed to be water tight there wouldn't be a gap to poor "smoothly" from. If ya too impatient to wait two seconds longer to fill a glass and turn the jug upside down, yes... You'll have problems. The jug is very good. Sensible capacity with a decent handle for good grip and easy pouring. Delivery was super fast and very well packaged.I bought more and I'll be buying more again.

I have two of these as our water filter is downstairs and our home office is upstairs so handy to make sure we drink enough. The lids are rubbish, they make the water drip all over the place so I remove them every time I pour out water - I keep it on to keep dust/flies out.Would definitely recommend, the look nice and I'm sure someone complained about the handle not being able to hold the weight but I've never noticed any problem - I fill them up full and carry two full jugs of water up a large set of stairs regularly, never noticed any problems.Would definitely purchase again if I needed to.

For the price, it’s a good jug. Look great, fits in the fridge door, and is made of glass. The only downside? The plastic stopper. As mentioned in other reviews, it pours into your glass...and all over the work surface as well. The stopper is angled, and doesn’t fit flush to the top of the had (friction fit, with no additional rubber. seal between the glass jug and the plastic lid) and allows the contents to come up either side of the pouring spout.) Considering how cheap it was...and it does look great- I’ll just use the stopper as exactly that. It’s easy enough to remove for pouring.

I ordered two of these, for some reason thinking they were plastic. My fault. Solid glass body, which feels like it would survive a drop off a bench on to softer floorings. Shape works very efficiently in our fridge and is now nearly permanently in use for orange juice and lemonade. I would rate it 5* except that the lid is very loose fitting. If knocked over the lid would slow a spill but not stop, it even in the "closed" position.Overall I am happy with the product, despite the lid, and would happily recommend it with that one warning.

Absolutely satisfied. I bought this glass jar to store a home-made nut milk and it works a treat. Well-built, strong glass, good size, fits perfectly in the fridge door. Easy to hold (the handle looks small but is strong enough to carry the weight of the jar). It is also easy to pour the liquid directly from the jar - the plastic cup rotates, so all you need to do is move it around so that a small opening in the plastic is positioned where the nose of the jar is. Once you're done, just rotate the plastic cover to protect the opening.

Read the reviews on here and was 50/50 .... Wrong shape handle etc etc ... BUT this jug is AWESOME , Not only does it have the retro class look to it , but it's real thick glass and the handle is more then suited to this jug , it's easy to grip and carry when full , it fits in the fridge super ... I use mine to mix Iced tea and take it straight out on the the patio , and this jug looks very smart !!! In fact I have placed orders for two more for myself and two for friends who seen it !!! So for this price you will not find better
