Being an impatient sort who doesn't especially like waiting while his wine breathes, I bought this device to see if it would hurry things along. The best way to use it seems to be as a breather rather than as a decanter, double-decanting first into the carafe then back into the bottle. This process takes a couple of minutes and looks very cool, you could happily do this in front of guests for a little entertainment. After aeration the wine is simply transformed - everything smells and tastes bigger, rounder, fruitier. Standard decanting takes hours to make this kind of transformation. As an added bonus this device looks beautiful (much more so than the pictures suggest) and is really well designed and constructed.

This product works very well. I did a blind taste test on some family members of a wine before and after decanting and all agreed the decanted wine tasted better. The decanting process with wine is quick and stack up is quite stable.The carafe itself looks elegant on the table but it is just as easy to reverse the process and put the wine back in the bottle if you prefer.One odd thing - I tried the device out 1st on an empty wine bottle filled with water and it would not pour! No matter how I shook or tilted the bottle I couldn't get more than a 1/3 of a bottle of water to come out. The rest remained stuck inside with the vacuum. Works perfectly on wine. I guess wine is thiner!

In regard to aeriating wine I have always done it as part of the “wine theatre” before drinking. Overall ensuring wine is at the right temperature & allowed to breathe I believe ensures you get the best experience & this decanter delivers. I would have to say it works better with less expensive wines as you would not want to tip up a bottle with sediment & I still use a normal decanter for those. But non sedimented wine works really well & I usually tip it up at least twice into the bottle & serve it from there.

I saw this device at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art's show, How Wine Became Modern. Frequently we serve red wine that benefits from decanting and the extra aeration this creates seemed like a good idea. It does work and we now use it for all the red we serve. The only drawback is that small particles of sediment can be a little tricky to clean out. I still need to by one of those curved brushes to make that task easier - but it works - and I highly recommend it.

I bought this one for a friend, but I also have one & I have bought 3 other friends one of these. They are a must if you drink red wine, it will make a massive difference to the taste of your wine! It also is nice to have the carafe at the table. However if you do prefer a bottle you can turn it upside down and the whole process is reversed & the wine is back in the bottle aerated. You'll never look back after getting one of these !

This was purchased as a gift for a friend. However we have owned one of these for a couple of years and it really works - makes cheap wine taste a LOT better!Highly recommended and a great shape to leave on the dinner table if necessary. We tend to run the bottle into the decanter, and then back into the bottle - that way you can have a couple of bottles done up front.

This breather/aerator is brilliant. Really opens up your red wine.Looks great on the table too although you can decant your wine back into the bottle if you prefer.I was sceptical if these things worked but I am really impressed. If you have a £6 or £7 bottle of red put it through the breather and bingo your wine tastes like its from a £20 bottle. No kidding!

My partner loves his wine and this elegant little accessory to his 'hobby' make the enjoyment all the better. Even I can tell the difference! The aeration of the wine really mellows the flavour well. It's easy to use and despite my misgivings about whether it would leak, it works perfectly..... not a drop is spilt! Definitely would recommend.

Love it.Can't drink wine with out it nowStill love it but after almost 6 months of careful use a crack has appeared.This was are seconded Decantor from this brand.First time we put it down to are mistake, but after seeing this crack we feel it is just a little to fragile.That said we have bought a third one for a family member.

This decanter has great features, it is small enough to clean easily, if using it for white wine -it improves the taste considerably- it fits in the fridge. If wine is not finished in one sitting there is a lid for storage, easy to use on several bottles so you can be ready with wine for bigger parties, it is streamline and stylish.

This was about the 6th of these carafes bought for friends and family! They are great and allow the wine to breath and mellow quickly. We've done taste tests with the wine as is, and then run through 1 and 2 times. The difference is very noticeable so and with it only taking a minute to drain into the carafe its well worth the wait.

I'm an engineer so set up a blind tasting for my husband on a £10 bottle of red: straight from the bottle; decanted using a normal aerator; double decanted back into the bottle using the Menu decanter. The difference was surprisingly noticeable. I'm won over! Five stars.

I received one of these 2 years ago as a present and it is still going strong. I love it - its easy to use and the difference to the wine is unbelievable. I have now bough 3 as gifts and everyone is as taken with it as I am. Will never drink wine from the bottle again.

This is an excellent product. You can transfer the wine back to the bottle, and if you wish you can repeat the process if necessary. And the way it is designed, it really allows for maximum exposure of the wine to air during the transfer.

Bought this as a gift for a wine lover, they use it all the time. What they like especially is that you can decant back into the bottle, which is especially useful for dinner parties.Only bad thing is that is isnt that easy to clean.
