Twenty years ago, I remember my dad using a product which was very similar to these Rexel Crystalfiles, for storing invoices and other paperwork for his business. However, with the massive increase in the use of computers, I would have thought that the demand for products such as this must have massively reduced - certainly, my dad no longer uses filing cabinets and the majority of his records are now stored electronically. Having said that, whether there is or isn't demand for this product is somewhat irrelevant, given that this is a review of the Crystalfile itself and not of the market which it is aimed at.This particular product is a box of 20 Crystalfiles, with the dimensions of the usable part of the file being 36.5cm (width) by 23.0cm (height). Based on my recollection of these files, the particular dimensions of this product are reasonably standard and enable A4 sheets of paper to be stored in landscape format (but not portrait). However, I appreciate that there are many different dimensions of files and filing cabinets so you will need to check that the width of the files is not less than the width of your filing cabinet. The capacity of this particular product is also pretty decent and it is claimed that each file can store up to 300 pages. I suspect that this claim might be slightly optimistic, particularly if using paper which is 80g/sm or higher however, they will easily store 250 pages. It might sound like this volume of paper would be too heavy to be adequately supported by this file however, being made from polypropylene, they are pretty robust and unless you are very rough with the files, I can't imagine the contents falling out the bottom of the file. They also include expanding sides which should help to retain the paper inside the files.Included with each product is a set of plastic tabs and paper inserts for clearly identifying the contents of each file. These plastic tabs attach to the horizontal side of the file, so that you can scan your eye over each tab when skimming for the appropriate file. The final aspect which I would comment on is probably the one which has the most relevance for the majority of people and that is the price. The RRP of this product is stated as being £156.83, which works out at almost £8 per file. I appreciate that Amazon are currently selling the files at a significant discount but even so, I would still consider this to be an expensive (premium) product. Only you can decide if it is worth the cost!

This review is for the Rexel 3000087 Crystalfile Extra Secura Foolscap Suspension File, 300 Sheet Capacity, 30 mm Squared Base Polypropylene, Pack of 20, Black, which I received free to write a review.Made from extra tough, non-rip polypropylene with steel bars to grip the top runners of a filing cabinet, these suspension files are brilliant, well made, sturdy and will last years. They have little plastic "feet" under the notches that fit over the cabinet's runners which makes them quieter and easier to slide about inside the cabinet, and also mean they won't scratch. They come with a sheet of 51 perforated labels that fit inside the quality plastic name holders (there are 20 of these)that sit on top of the suspension files. These clip into place and can be positioned anywhere along the length of the suspension file but I found were easily knocked off. However, there are 5 small metallic bumps along the edge which I have pushed the name holders over one side of, and they locked well. There is however, a large space in the middle of the file holders that don’t have a bump, so I’m assuming this is not what these bumps are intended for. I found the name holders didn’t hold as well as on the paper version. The plastic name holders are also a little brittle so care needs to be taken when clipping them on.The suspension files have an expandable base that can hold up to 300 sheets of paper, so they are ideal for larger amounts of documents and especially if the suspension needs to be handled and removed a lot. The small side walls are great if you have smaller items in the file holder as they can’t fall out (which can happen with the open sided versions).Being plastic, they will last years, even if handled a lot. If you don’t need to have them out on a very regular basis, I found that paper ones lasted years with ease.Make sure you order the correct size; these are for foolscap and not A4 which is common too.

I particularity wanted something to hold product manuals, the ones I can't get electronically, and when I get literature in those folders. The "old style" manila ones just can't cope. Manuals tend to be heavy and often come with a few small bit & pieces that I didn't need to use. So I also needed something where these are less likely to fall out. The runners also need to be stronger than the flimsy ones you often find and the manila card can't really take the weight. These are so much better. The build quality is excellent and the fact they are made from a recyclable polypropylene material is really important. As a result, they are so much stronger and more durable than what I currently use.The runners are sturdy and have a plastic coating, which allows them to run freely on the rails. That also enables them to take the weight of the manuals without buckling. The flexible side walls should hopefully prevent any of those small bits & pieces from falling out and keep the manuals from edging out and hindering the sliding of the file. They also have a wider base. The supplied tabs are nice and clear and snap on firmly to the top of the file. They don't slide along that well once on, so try to get your alignments right first time around, as you might need to pop them off again otherwiseThe sleeves have a slight texture too them, which stops them being to slippery and have a premium look and feel. Look great in black. As they're are plastic, they are very easily cleaned should I spill my tea or get anything sticky on them. These are a bit pricy, but you do get the durable, strong, wipe clean and recyclable file, that going to serve you well for sometime. Just got to find the time now to sort all the products manuals out.

Rexel 3000087 Crystalfile Extra Secura Foolscap Suspension File, 300 Sheet Capacity, 30 mm Squared Base Polypropylene, Pack of 20, BlackAlthough expensive, these appear to be very well made indeed. Each suspension file measures 36.5 x 24 cm, the top supports measure 40.5 cm in length. The top support rail is made from fold over metal which is then pressed, each end has a nylon insert for smooth sliding. The main body of the holder is made from a very tough nylon non-rip polypropylene material, believe me I've tried and I could not tear this. The ends of the holder are made from transparent plastic type material which again is very strong, this is bonded onto the polypropylene. There are 20 of these Foolscap Suspension Files in the box. They are supplied with 20 see through plastic label holders, along with a sheet of thin A4 white card with 72 pre-cut po-pout labels held within. These will hold 300 sheets of 80 gsm paper. The suspension files seem strong enough to take that amount of paper without buckling under the strain.Contents -20 x Suspension Files20 x Label holders1 x Sheet of labelsIf you have found my review at all helpful I would very much appreciate if you could click the 'Helpful' button below, thank you.

These files are not cheap but are good quality and well made and ideal for storing documents of different sizes. They are supplied in a branded box along with a sheet in labels and plastic holders that are easy to attach to the file and secure when fitted. The files are made of polypropylene which lasts much longer than traditional manilla files and they have an easy to wipe clean satin finish. They are designed for use with rails 387 mm apart and accommodate up to 200 sheets of standard paper rather than the 300 sheets claimed on the listing. These have sidewalls to prevent odd bits of paper slipping out the file and have strong runners that support the weight of the document filed withoutbending or twisting. These files are expensive but are good quality and ideal for frequent access or storage of multiple sized files where durability and security is important.

We just have endless bits of paper in piles everywhere waiting to be filed away in our metal secure storage unit. I bought these thinking they would fit, but alas they don't! They only fit a specific filing cabinet I have in my office so they do seem to be a bit on the larger size than standard units so be sure to check before you buy.In terms of quality they are really strong and can hold a lot of documents (so if you have thick piles of mortgage documentation these are for you!). However I would say these are moreso geared towards businesses due to the price and amount you get. I can't think of any normal person that would need so many of these and accommodate for such weighty piles, but the fact you gets lots of labels for them is a great way to organise your files. Highly recommended and the fact they are made from recyclable plastic is a huge plus.

Rexel is a brand leader in home and office stationery and as if with life, you get what you pay for. Having worked as a filing clerk way back and now running my own home-based business operation I need effective filing hardware and this indeed is it. Unlike many of the other suspension files I currently own these aren't made from reinforced paper - they are made from 'tough wipe clean polypropylene' (with a price tag to match!) Their 'unique side walls' (corregated plastic) allow the contents to be securely stored. The black coloured top and steel runners also look incredibly stylish.I really like this product, but it *is* incredibly expensive.I suppose if they last much longer than their reinforced cardboard/paper rivals then it's a price worth paying.

Having wasted lots of money using the  cardboard Manila folders in the last was looking for a stronger alternative. The price tag shouldn’t put you off as they are made to last and I can’t see me having to replace these folders for many years so the initial outlay is high but over there use will be a considerably cheaper  option long term. The files themselves are made from polypropylene which means they are wipeable and really strong and feel so much more durable than my previous ones.Included in the box are 20 plastic tabs that clip onto the top of the files to help you identify the contents. The files fit my standard filing cabinet perfectly and the steel colour co-ordinated runners are strongand robust and made to last.

These polypropylene extra strong suspension folders will be great for use at my training centre. You get 20 black files in the box and each one can hold up to 300 sheets of paper. The front of each file also gives you the codes for reordering the files and other accessories which is useful and will save you the time of having to find codes for reordering. The strong material is also recyclable which is great. They are much stronger than the cardboard ones we currently use at work , but I’m surprised at the price which I think is a bit steep. Not much change from £80.00. Not the kind of investment I would make for myself for home, but I guess in the work place where they will be used regularly that price might be justified.

These are fabulous suspension files and will be perfect for replacing my old and very worn card ones. The files themselves are made from polypropylene and this means they are wipeable and strong and feel more durable than my old ones. They are A4 in size and expand quite to approx 3.5cm meaning you can get a good amount of documents in them. This box cam with files and also the plastic tabs that fit in the top of the files, and the paper inserts for labelling. These are so good and for the price I am impressed, these will last me a very long time and are ideal for storing household documents as well as training and coursework.

I really recommend these for desk drawer drop filing systems of the proper/specified dimensions, they have a good capacity, the metal bridging beams on each are not prone to bending or breaking away from the sling itself and the sling itself it strong and of a good "larger" dimension. You fan file a few sheets in the larger dimension slings or you can file a lot/a large heavy file, whereas in the smaller ones you can only file a few so I never thought it was difficult to decide which was the best choice to make in terms of filing options, the larger ones like these. Recommended.

Very strong and sturdy and the square base makes them expandable to hold a lot of stuff. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the tabs and labels were included as they are not shown in the photographs nor mentioned in the description, I had thought that I would need to get some of these but I'm glad I won't have to. There is going to be a facility on their website to print the labels but it is being updated at the moment so I will have to wait before I can do that but I probably will do that at some point in the future.

Brilliantly made suspended files for your cabinet.Well made, durable, waterproof design. Plastic is good quality with a little stretch in each file. The tops are held with little bars and strong hooks ready to fit on.Each file has a (provided) plastic, see through, well made clip that goes on the top nicely, which holds a label (also provided) so you can name each one.Would definitely recommend. Very well made. Comes with everything necessary. Easily holds 200 a4 pieces of paper/card. Fantastic product.

This range of extra strength suspension files is a real step up from their regular card ones. These are made from plastic and have strong runners to prevent the files from falling off the rails. Remember that these are for mid-range capacities, 30 mm squared base accommodates 300 sheets of 80 gsm Foolscap paper, file by itself is 387 x 240 mm, file and runner is 407 x 240 mm. Each pack contains only 20 files to at £62.23 I’d say they’re on the expensive side – more for businesses than home use.
