I'm not an 8 tear old playing. I'm a 68 tear old playing. I set it up and had it charged quickly. My warning would be to get practice in a good open space to get competent. An 8 yo would probably get the hang of it quicker. I see it as a useful tool to inspect roofs, gutters and ariels. should be perfect for the hard to see places. AND IT'S FUN TO PLAY WITH FOR ANY AGE

Camera works very well and it's great fun seeing the videos and pictures it takes You may be disappointed if you think you can just go-fly it around the back garden unless you have flown one before. It’s very fast and highly agile, I learnt by carefully flying.

This was purchased as a Christmas gift. I can confirm that it flies well and is responsive to the controls. Unfortunately I cannot comment on the video footage as we managed to loose it but it was good fun before it vanished into thin air.

This drone is excellent value for the money. Would recommend as a low cost alternative to more expensive drones.
